I thought the judges got it right. Then I took a look at a recap with side-by-side pictures of each piece. Wow. When seen side-by-side each collection is really wonderful. Any one of the finalists could have won. Best season yet.
Agree it was one of the best seasons.

As I watched the show and saw the comments by the designers I had a thought of who might win. Then when I saw the runway show, I picked the winner. No one would ever accuse me of being a fashionista, I can barely dress myself but I did prefer the designs of the winner.

While I like Margharita's fabric I don't believe it is for everyone. I would have preferred Kenya to show as I believe she can dress all women of all sizes. But it's all about those 2 choices and hers just didn't live up to what the judges wanted. Too bad Tim said to put the cover on the black dress, bad move.

I'm glad to hear #1 is Michael because I thought with the peplum (ruffle) it might be Kenya's and I know she is a better designer than that.
I thought #6 was Marguerita's because of the colors and the fish. Very island like.
I was hoping #2 was Kenya's as she does like to show the body but could be Kentaro,
so #2 and #4 I was thinking Kentaro and Kenya's
#3 definately Ayana
#5 Brandon's without a doubt
Now I will go check out the link to see how off I was. As I said I was worried about #1 with that ruffle. It's ugly.
So I believe I wasn't too far off - I now believe #2 is Kenya (based on the fabric) and #4 is Kentaro. I still think Marguerita made the fish dress.

I think Tim said that nobody would get the money (a "win" for Dixie;)).
Hubby said that Brandon did win the $25,000. It was mentioned in the next weeks show (or maybe in the "previously seen" section).
As I didn't remember seeing it I Googled it and found this

It looks like something I made back in the late 60's. It was ugly then and it's ugly now.

All I have to say is Sam needs to go.

They did the same thing on Amazing Race this season. At the end of the first race no one went home.
I love the two dresses on the winning team and hated the two on the losing team. While I thought the black dress was trashy I would at least wear it if I had the body, maybe not to a red carpet affair. No amount of money would make me wear that pink feather mess.

I'm taping the show so haven't seen it yet. But I would guess that Tim will use his save on the designer that gets chopped tonight. And that way 4 designers go to Fashion Week. JMO

I am not a fashion savvy person but I personally did not like Sonjia's design. To me is wasn't anything new. I've seen the big bow before. JMO
I think if the challenge was to take one of Marilyn's dresses and update it to wear today I would vote for her to win. It could be a reconstructed design of the pink strapless dress with the big sash that Marilyn wore in Gentlemen Prefer Blonds.

I thought whoever dressed Alyssa last year did a horrible job. In each show she seemed to be dressed in the most unflattering outfit.

I was watching Entertainment Tonight and they showed Heidi in the dress. They also said Allison Janney was wearing a dress from a PR 9th season contestant. I googled it and found it was Bert Keeter.
I googled Heidi's dress - I just looked at the picture and didn't read about who made it. I assumed I knew based on the design - you know what they say about assuming. After watching the designers get their fabric I now know I was wrong in my assumption. :(

Yep, we all know there's nothing new under the sun -- sometimes the judges point that out (and criticize) and sometimes not...
I presume you mean this gown? Oscars 2012. It is lovely, isn't it?
Yes that is the one - I don't know why my pictured disappeared.

Well you are right about learning how to sew a French seam. I too learned that in 8th grade, home ec class. But back then (I'm 59) there were only girls in the class. Who knows what they teach in public schools now.
I just haven't seen anything (that I can remember) that Patricia has made that I would wear.
-
I think it was a "shock" the viewers move. There is no way that Patricia's gunny sack with fringe was better that Michelle's "T-shirt and pants".
Besides being ugly Patricia's dress was poorly constructed. And personally I think she needed to stop whining and blaming Richard. She kept changing her design and then blamed it on him.
I believe that Michelle will definitely get back into the game.

Thanks, where can I find this?
The link below is for Bidding for Travel - under Hotel FAQ - question #9 will give you some idea.
But if you look at "Advanced Free Re-bidding for experienced hotel bidders" there was a link to a posting that Verkuilb put up where he set up a permutation layout. I see that the link doesn't work now. If I have something at home I will check tonight and post it. I know that I copied it into a spreadsheet.

Thanks, yes, I perfected this technique last year while bidding for a pre-cruise hotel in Miami. I need to become familiar again, lol.
Someone on Bidding for Travel posted a sticky thread with bidding permutations for whatever number of free rebid zones you might have. I copied it into a spreadhseet and have it at my fingertips, because like you, my bidding might be many months apart.
-
Well, everyone on this CC board will be taking a cruise from or to San Juan so people generally want to stay in San Juan.
Are you asking about a bidding technique in which a bidder selects a non-San Juan zone in order to get a "free re-bid", and has no desire to actually win a bid in a remote zone? If that is your question, then yes, I have done that. Last time I checked, this technique is only useful for people bidding on 4* or resort hotels.
Actually you can use that on 3.5 zones (like OSJ). There are some zones that have only 2 stars or 2.5 so they would be free rebid zones for 3.5 zones. I used that to get the OSJ hotel in OSJ.
The easiest way to figure your free zone rebids is to check out each zone individually and write down the stars available. Then you have it in front of you to use when bidding.

I went back in Priceline and now I know what you were trying to tell me about seeing what's available for each area on the 'name your own price' tab. I was looking at the tab that had the set prices and was seeing the Ponce location with a 3*+ hotel (I think it was the Hilton). Thanks for the help!
Your welcome -

Thanks for your help. I added Aquadilla @ $95 and it got accepted for Caribe Hilton.
That's a good price and a nice hotel - I believe it is in the Resort category.- although when we stayed there we ate elsewhere. But the pool, beach area was beautiful and the eating area by the pool was good.
