  1. I was on the same sailing and don't remember noticing the bartenders back there having bad language skills but I also didn't see the Serenity area with that few people either. Maybe the person working was filling in during a port day or something. I was pretty disappointed with the furniture though, I agree it looked aged. That was probably one of my biggest disappointments but the staff back there were pretty great in my experiences. In fact, I'd say I bought the vast majority of my non-casino drinks there because they were so quick compared to everything else on Lido. That was just my experience, we rebooked the Pride because we don't put too much of an emphasis on the Serenity/pool experience. If that were our big thing, maybe my perception would be different.

I was there saturday before dinner, i am guessing around 6:30, The bartender may have spoken perfect english, he just wasn't doing it with me.

Either way it didn't ruin my vacation or sour me on cruising, but it has me thinking that i may go with another cruise line next time.

  2. I don't know what ship you were on but, the Serenity deck is always packed. What does the bartender barely speaking English have to do with anything? Which is probably not true as most CCL front line employees speak very good english.

It was the pride june 3rd. The bartenders english skills only added to our poor experience on the serenity deck. I got a yellow towel from the desk and when i went to return the towel the desk was vacant. He could not find the book that had my name and room number on it for the towel deposit.

I am self employed and i work a lot of hours, one of the things i wanted to do was relax on the serenity deck, maybe my hopes were built up to the point that i was disappointed when i finally got to break away from my lovely child and spend some alone time with my wife. I was expecting more than old teal covered furniture that looked like it was way past its prime and covered in stains and a couple fornicating in the hot tub.

  3. my wife and i made one only trip to the serenity deck. There was only five people on the deck. There was a bartender who spoke very little english, my wife, me and a young couple who were in the act of making a baby in the hot tub.

I would of rather had the topless woman.

  4. The Pride is in great shape, and has a lot to offer. Don't listen to the detractors. I've been on twice in the last two years and going again in about a month. You'll have a great cruise, on a great ship

I am one of the detractors but as i had told my friends it is a well maintained ship for its age. I wont be back until it gets a major overhaul.

  5. Carnival food overall is low grade, low quality and is consistent daily of being just ok with some food in the lunch buffets of being inedible and in the MDR low quality meats, the bare minimum quality that they are able to serve.

I just got back from the pride yesterday, i have to agree about the buffet. The quality was very poor. I did have a few good meals in the mdr but the flat iron steak was a poor quality.

  6. Honestly I would wait til closer to the cruise to tell them - Heck what about waiting until your actually on the way to the terminal and you pull up to see this big beautiful boat

My mom and dad did this with Disney world in 1978, i still remember it like yesterday. Unless your kids are 40 i vote for this
