  1. Agree with Discount Hawaii Car Rental. All of the major companies are at the airport (10 minutes at the most) have shuttles running all day. When you go to the DHCR website it will tell you if there is a shuttle.

Kona is a little different since it is a tender port. There is an Thrifty/Dollar location in the King Kam (Courtyard Marriott). It may cost more but is certainly closer. The airport is about 20 minutes away with a lot of traffic. There is also an Enterprise which is walkable. You can check the DHRC site to see if there is a shuttle or if you have to walk.

Something to think about is Maui and Kauai which is an overnight. Will you rent for two days or one day? The parking for Kauai is $20 is at a nearby mall which does have a shuttle to the pier.

The parking for Maui is a little more complicated. It is recommended that you go back to the airport and park there for $13. If you are early enough in the evening, you can catch the shuttle back to the pier then the shuttle back to the airport in the morning. If it will be latter in the evening, you will need to call a cab.

    Thanks!

  2. We are booked on NCLs Hawaiian Cruise and hope to learn from your experience. Which car rental company ( location and phone number if available ) would you recommend using while at each Port?

    Honolulu, Oahu

    Kahului, Maui

    Hilo, Hawaii

    Kona, Hawaii

    Nawiliwili, Kauai

Any ports where getting a car, trying to do all self-guided excursions, where a car may not be needed?

Thanks in advance for your help and information.

  3. Congratulations!

If you don't mind, how much did you pay before bid?

    just for statistic^^

I'm on the Escape 12/03/16 cruise.

Originally booked IX (inside Guaranty cabin) rates were 399p/p no perks.

09/22 got the email to bid on upgrades and put minimum bit 50p/p for a balcony.

Today the inside cabin were assigned on 12th deck mid-ship.

I guess they still can accept my bit in any moment before 48h

but anyway I'm going to be happy even with my original cabin.

My exact booking as well. Also today was assigned my inside cabin, Deck 11 Forward. Hope something comes through, but if not, not a bad price for our 3rd Cruise this year (1x in Haven).

  4. Quick question we are going with a group of like 12 cabins and noone wants to buy the package except 2 cabins Can they? I was reading and it says

Beverage packages must be purchased for all guests staying within the same stateroom, additional stateroom, adjoining stateroom or travel with.

Individuals under the age of 21 will be required to purchase the Soda Program

So does that mean because we are a group they can't and that everyone under 21 has to buy the soda card?

    From the Terms and Conditions:

Packages must be purchased by all qualifying individuals residing in the stateroom or additional staterooms under the same method of payment for the entire length of the cruise.

Same state room, yes. Additional staterooms, unless one person paid for all, they should not have to take the package.
