By personal choice I would never want to get off the ship and leave a child that young alone, especially if I'm going to another country.
I was thinking the same thing!!!

Have you thought about bring a friend along. I think that would be a win, win for everyone evolved.

Thrift stores, Kiji. What small town are you from? I live in Canada too, I go to thrift stores often. (it's my favorite past time) If I find one I'll mail it to you.

Destination weddings are selfish by nature. It is a huge and unnecessary financial burden for your guests, not taking into account lost vacation time. And then to suggest that you should use your guests to obtain a free cabin is in incredibly poor taste.
Thank you!! You said much nicer than I would have.

Call Carnival. They have wedding packages that begin around $1500. Not expensive at all. If your wedding party is over 8 cabins, you can get a group rate. Guests should pay for their own cabins and you &your fiance can actually use the free cabin from the group booking.
That's terrible! It's expensive because you pay for your guest! you don't invite someone to your wedding, and ask them to pay!

I have sailed Holland America and enjoyed it. I have to say, I would not have enjoyed it with may grandchildren. Someone would be jumping overboard. Your child will find it boring.

Has anyone had or has been to a wedding with Royal Caribbean as I am newly engaged and am looking in to the option of having a cruise wedding. I would like to know what your experience was like and what you thought about the wedding packages.
Also, is the reception held in a separate room then the ceremony, do they have different packages for the reception or is that booked on its own?:)

Our family went to Coral on our own(including 17 month old grandson). We got off the ship, took an open air taxi/truck to Coral World. Very easy.

So I have been thinking about booking a cruise during the school year. My kids are YOUNG, they will be in kindergarten and 2nd grade. I'm a little nervous, but not so much seeing how young they are.. What are your experiences with taking your kids out of school? I would like to hear about older children as well as I want to continue to cruise throughout their lives. Thanks!
We always took our kids out of school for family vacations. They are now 22 and 26, both have graduated from University:D

Why would you remove the children's tips?

Yes the bar is kid friendly! They can play on the beach while you and your husband enjoy a drink!:)

Probably not the answer you were looking for but.......GSC is a poor excuse for a private cruise Island. Don't worry if you miss it.

Yes, you have to stay with the guides. One guide leads the group, and one is at the back of the group. Everybody has to keep up.I didn't like it, and I'm not a cautious person. Depending on your daughters age, I think this is an excursion you might enjoy on your own. Labedee is a beutiful safe island with lots to do. Your wife a daughter might want to go to the straw market while your on the jet skies:p

I hated it:eek: .My Dh and I rented them, he LOVED it:D .Were both 43:o .They went way to fast for me, and you have to keep up with the group.
What kind of Stroller?

We are taking a western Mediterranean cruise May 5 on the Oasis of the Seas (we hope)!!!! We have two children ages 4 and 6 travelling with us. The itinerary is very long days, and only one sea day. What kind of stroller should we bring, jogging stroller, single stroller, double stroller? The boys don't use a stroller at home, but I don't think they will last all day.
