We've completed 4 NCL cruises and have always felt comfortable. We discovered cruising a long time after we got married so no proposal experience but everyone, staff and passengers alike, have been extremely accepting.

I hate it when there are 4 people walking across together and you cant get past them. Yeah I know, this should be the worst thing that ever happens to us.
Vigilante walking cures this... puff yourself up and play through. I do this in NYC too. Its like sidewalk chicken.

I was smoking on my balcony, drinking a Pepsi, (read no coke)because they took the water I wanted to bring on board away when I boarded. I would have preferred a Rebellious Fish but I was too trashed, it being spring break and all, to go the bar. Well the butler walked in and told me I could not smoke on the balcony because my obnoxious neighbor could smell it, oh well. So I asked him if he would take my towel and at 6:00am put it on a pool chair right in front of the pool for me soI would have it when I woke at about 10:00. He refused. You guessed it no tip for him.
(take that washy washy)
Sums up about every third post on this board. Bravo & thanks for the chuckle!

While the murderer Castro is alive, we should not have tourism in Cuba.
Castro is dead and has been since last year.

Thanks Mking! I finally have time to study the TLS Mother Lode carry on. The Mother Lode Weekender Convertible has no wheels, am I right? Wouldn't it be hard to carry this around when full (44lbs)? I also saw the TLS Mother Lode Mini 21" that seems perfect but weighs 8lb 11oz and costs $300CAD (around $220 US)? Is it worth it for the weight? Do you think if it can hold up to rough baggage handling if I am ever forced to check it due to lack of overhead bin rooms on the plane?
I have been using the same TLS Mother Lode 21" Duffle for about 4 years now. I'm a frequent flyer who clocks in about 30-40 flights a year. With over 300 flights down, my bag is showing wear but is still going strong. I check the bag at least 50% of the time so it has seen some real hard duty. It does fit easily in most overhead bins, including the short bins on the 2 seat side of the MD-88 and MD-90s. The bag holds an amazing amount of clothes, especially paired with the ebags packing cubes. My standard for a 5-7 day trip is two slim and one medium packing cube. The total bag weight is usually 28-32 pounds including 2 pairs of shoes and toiletries.
The price is a little steep (currently $217CAD), but the bag is guaranteed for life.

Daniel Johnson's Sloth Hangout for the win! We really enjoyed hanging out with the monkeys and the sloths. Next time we go, we will not pair it with a Victor Bodden tour. Our driver was condescending and dishonest. Oh, and the van was a piece of junk with no AC.

I'm a lanyard fan. The one I use has a removable plastic pouch and loop with a detachable clip. On the ship, I use the loop and clip through a hole I have punched by guest services. When I order a drink or need to use my card at a specialty restaurant, I can unclip and hand the card over. For port days, I use the plastic pouch to hold both my ship card and my passport card. Best of both worlds :)

Daniel Johnson's Sloth and Monkey Hangout was fantastic and exceeded my every expectation.
Victor Bodden tours didn't live up to the hype and I will look for alternatives next time I'm in Roatan.

RCCL has preference for docking at Coxen Hole in Roatan. You can check cruisetimetables.com to see who else is in port with you.
There are two dates that the Dawn will be in the port of Coxen Hole, Roatan. Feb 22, she'll be docked as she will be the only ship in port. Feb 28, she will tender as the Liberty of the Seas will also be in port.

We were on the Dawn the first week of March... 4 travelers with side by side SD suites. The first room suite had all of the pre-arranged requests taken care of while the second suite had none of the requests handled. The first suite had a much better butler... he was attentive and handled requests expediently. The second suite had a different butler who never did empty the minibar despite being asked to do so daily in addition to asking the pre-cruise concierge. We had such a lousy experience with him that we decided against booking a suite on our next cruise.
All this to say, it seems like the handling of pre-cruise concierge requests really appears to depend on your butler.

I second the Native Choice vote. Erick and Saul from Native Choice were wonderful. The van was new, clean and spacious. Saul was a safe driver and Erick was extremely knowledgeable. His tour was both entertaining and educational.

We were on the Sky last August and stopped at GSC. When boarding the tender, you are on the top level and when disembarking, you leave from the bottom level. This requires one to climb down a flight of stairs upon arrive to GSC and climb up a set when arriving back at the ship. We did use a beach wheelchair for my MIL who has mobility issues but she did have to get on and off the tender without a wheelchair.
Sparkling wine: Silver + Haven, 2 bottles?
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
We were in the Haven last April. We did receive 2 bottles of sparkling wine, one for Latitudes and one for the Haven. I didn’t try to swap out but I did have the Butler stock juices in our cleared out mini fridge... I had a choice between orange, cranberry and apple. No pineapple, peach or grapefruit was available.
