  1. Hello,

We were on the Getaway last week. After boarding, the Haven concierge announced that all LeBistro reservations before 9pm had been cancelled for the entire week to accomidate a last minute booking of 100 people.

Is this normal NCL policy? Rumors we heard was that one of the cruisers is a NCL board member.

Us, along with many other passengers were mad. Taking kids who were really looking forward to eating there at 9pm instead of 6 was a big deal to us. And we had to miss a group event to make the reservation.

  2. How do the beverage and dining packages work when you have all adults in the 2 bedroom suites?

    ###

Only the first two people get the package. With 4 adults, you're better off just getting two separate courtyard rooms or better yet 2 separate haven spa suites.

Whenever we've priced Haven rooms, it seems to be around the same price, no matter if it's 2 or 4 people. Getting separate rooms give you privacy and you all get all the incentives

  3. We just stayed in a forward facing penthouse with adjoining balcony room on deck 11 last week.

Loved it!! The rooms are much bigger than courtyard rooms and the walk to the forward stair/elevator wasn't that bad, even for my mother.

I'd have a hard time giving up that much space for a courtyard room. The forward facing does have a small balcony but the living area and bathroom make up for it.

  4. Uber.

We did the same thing as you a couple months ago. Flew into FLL, spent the night in FLL and then grabbed an Uber to drop us off at the Miami Cruise Port.

It was $45. They arrived in 5 minutes. Uber is allowed to drop off customers at the port but not allowed to pick up.

A taxi from FLL to the Miami cruise port would be around $90 plus tip! Our Uber ride was $45 for 4 people and no tip required on Uber.

There is no way I would consider a private car service.

Why wouldn't you consider a private sedan/SUV from a shuttle company? Our private Navigator was $48 including tip for 5 people and 6 pieces of luggage. The driver was awesome. He then asked about our return trip and made sure he was the one that picked up.

  5. No worries on the catamaran. It pulled up almost all the way to the shore. It was maybe a 15-20 foot walk in water no higher than the knee. Easy cheesy. did not see any kids at Jost Van Dyke but they would have fun.

We walked to the straw market and looked around in Nassau. I've been there before and the beaches are not great. The only thing that interested me was Atlantis but it is too pricey for me. Stay on the ship and get good seats at the pool would be my advice.

There are beautiful beaches in Nassau- next time get a day pass to a hotel or resort.
