If your kids are old enough to look forward to a French-style restaurant, then they are old enough to understand that money talks.
We were told that since the group was Kosher, they were given the restaurant for free to accomidate their dietary needs. Just seems to me that they could have found somewhere else besides the best speciality restaurant on the ship.

Hello,
We were on the Getaway last week. After boarding, the Haven concierge announced that all LeBistro reservations before 9pm had been cancelled for the entire week to accomidate a last minute booking of 100 people.
Is this normal NCL policy? Rumors we heard was that one of the cruisers is a NCL board member.
Us, along with many other passengers were mad. Taking kids who were really looking forward to eating there at 9pm instead of 6 was a big deal to us. And we had to miss a group event to make the reservation.

How do the beverage and dining packages work when you have all adults in the 2 bedroom suites?
###
Only the first two people get the package. With 4 adults, you're better off just getting two separate courtyard rooms or better yet 2 separate haven spa suites.
Whenever we've priced Haven rooms, it seems to be around the same price, no matter if it's 2 or 4 people. Getting separate rooms give you privacy and you all get all the incentives

We just stayed in a forward facing penthouse with adjoining balcony room on deck 11 last week.
Loved it!! The rooms are much bigger than courtyard rooms and the walk to the forward stair/elevator wasn't that bad, even for my mother.
I'd have a hard time giving up that much space for a courtyard room. The forward facing does have a small balcony but the living area and bathroom make up for it.

Sounds like a great deal. Who did you use?

Made the reservations online. Only tricky thing is that the Port is listed under the "airport" classification. Took me a little while to figure that out.

Uber.
We did the same thing as you a couple months ago. Flew into FLL, spent the night in FLL and then grabbed an Uber to drop us off at the Miami Cruise Port.
It was $45. They arrived in 5 minutes. Uber is allowed to drop off customers at the port but not allowed to pick up.
A taxi from FLL to the Miami cruise port would be around $90 plus tip! Our Uber ride was $45 for 4 people and no tip required on Uber.
There is no way I would consider a private car service.
Why wouldn't you consider a private sedan/SUV from a shuttle company? Our private Navigator was $48 including tip for 5 people and 6 pieces of luggage. The driver was awesome. He then asked about our return trip and made sure he was the one that picked up.
-
I use a private sedan or suv through Go Airport shuttle. They're very affordable, don't have to share a ride and you prepay the gratuities. All four drivers that I used from this past trip (staying in Ft Lauderdale before and after), called me about a half an hour before pickup to confirm.
SUVs were super clean, drivers were professional.

Haven two bedroom this year on Getaway was $8700. Over $14,000 for the Bliss two bedroom for same week next year.

Stay in the Haven spa suite. The location is perfect-quick trip to the spa or to the Haven.

Nassau is the 7-11 of the Caribbean. Stay on the ship and enjoy fewer people.
Maybe right by the dock. There are awesome resorts in Nassau that offer reasonable all inclusive day passes. Last time we went there, a sea turtle and numerous rays swam by us as we were enjoying the water.
-
Book two rooms. I can't imagine 5 people sharing ONE bathroom, especially trying to get ready for dinner.

I'm guessing low-carb is your goal, not healthy eating.
totally agree low carb does not equal healthy

I was in 14138 and no problems/noise at all.
Tracy
We also were in 14138 with no noise issues. Very short walk to the stairs to go upstairs.

Several people have posted to Facebook that when the Getaway is there, it's impossible to get seats around the pool.

Did you try tripadvisor.com?
That's where we went when we were deciding on a non-NCL excurison.

The fruit mojitos!!

The same as above...
Just got the tags in the mail. They're tall and skinny. don't think they would fit in these
-
Anybody know which ones work for Haven tags that they mail to you?

When hubby and I travel separately, we text each other when we get on the plane, prior to turning off our phones, along the lines of "love you, see you soon."
I would have been worried at that point.

Check their website for room specials too. We have friends that book a room at Atlantis because when there's a special, it's cheaper than the day pass.

I thought it was a pretty good mix:
Bass
Becks
Amstel Light
Sam Adams
Pilsner Uraquel
Heineken
Dos Equis
Corona
Coors
Miller Light
Bud

No worries on the catamaran. It pulled up almost all the way to the shore. It was maybe a 15-20 foot walk in water no higher than the knee. Easy cheesy. did not see any kids at Jost Van Dyke but they would have fun.
We walked to the straw market and looked around in Nassau. I've been there before and the beaches are not great. The only thing that interested me was Atlantis but it is too pricey for me. Stay on the ship and get good seats at the pool would be my advice.
There are beautiful beaches in Nassau- next time get a day pass to a hotel or resort.
-
It doesn't look that crowded- did a lot of people stay on the ship? It looks like it was raining but I expected to see more people.

Call the reservations phone number and see if they can book you for it.
