Just disembarked on Monday.
Nothing has changed. There is no "blind eye" to turn as you are permitted to carry on whatever you like (or pack it in your bags).
We brought three bottles of fizz to supplement the champagne and fizzy wine provided. We've been doing it for years.

Do you pack it in your suitcase or carry in your hand luggage? Guessing a bottle of spirits is a no no ? We have a 5 night cruise booked but with 2 days in port and me not big drinker (we both have to have the package) $138 a day is alot for the package - still deciding pay as you go or package as I like non-alcoholic cocktails, coffee and water !! Trying to work out most cost effective way?

It did indeed. Thank you. If only I had asked before 2h13m phone call! lol
I had already got an embarkation time selected (as I'd thought) - just didn't know where to look for it. So the panic "emergency" email was a bit of a red herring. There wasn't anything that Princess were waiting on from me - other than the Health notice declaration which I cant fill in unto 2 days before boarding.
I have completed the health notice declaration , it just says if you experience health changes prior to embarkation , return to this page to update
When could you select your embarkation time, mine still showing as unavailable for 10 September, thanks

Ok thanks for reply - I don' know if it "asked" me as such but the option was there - from your comment guessing we can just sort it out when we are onboard !
Wonder if its because we don't have a cabin assigned yet?

snnc2005; if you booked a suite you should have club class dining; no need to reserve a dining time. I have a suite booked for Oct and medallion class app never asked me to book a time because it knows I have club class dining.

I'm very confused, booked in a suite as sold to us on the perks benefits - phoned to see if I should book restaurant - operator said yes (at booking was told just rock up and eat, no queue?) so booked a time for each evening in Estrella (think that's the club class dining but not been told , apart from asking on cc??) asked about boarding (10 September) told keep checking app to book - the suite perks are disappearing before my eyes, not that boarding and dining time are the most essential perk but frustrating that they sell you it, as a perk and then it appears it doesn't exist :(

I used three different android devices on the Sky. All worked well.
Thanks - we should be ok , in that case!

That’s fake news…sailed 4 weeks on the Sky & those with Android devices could access WiFi.
Thank you, I did think it had to be rubbish or user error ! Leaving the kids home alone as no vaccines so wifi important! How was the Sky
Princess ?
-
Just read a review where the author said that the wifi on Sky Princess was only available if you have an Iphone ! Anyone comment on this ? Surely that can't be correct? My husband and I have Android phones, which work via wifi everywhere else - hoping they will to on Sky or the free wifi package will be useless ?

Hi all - just a quick reply re Disney. Happened to go online at 8.00am and was able to book an inside cabin, for 2. It came to £818 for both of us. Sailing on 30th August 2021 for the 2 nighter. Such a busy summer coming up now!!
Britannia
Virtuosa
Scarlet Lady and Disney!!
What has everyone else got booked?
Do you have to be vaccinated for that one? Just wondering as its Disney, our kids would love it but don't get vaccines ? Thanks

Why would you think that?
Princess is a more up market cruise line than P&O (tin hat on!) so I see no reason why it should become a booze cruise, given the more genteel clientele on board.
PS I am being a little tongue in cheek here!

I personally would choose Princess over P&O any day - superior food etc in our opinion ! We have booked a 3 day Sky Princess Staycation over the P&O ones

My UK MSC cruise will be at 1000 passengers which is 20% capacity!!!
But after 21/6 the capacity can/will increase. @snnc2005 when do you sail?10th September, 2021, picked it as we will be vaccinated (for us prefer all pax to be vaccinated) sadly children won't be so 3 days not a big ask for my parents to supervise

The UK government are allowing staycation cruises from May 17th.
Maximum of 1000 passengers or 50% capacity whichever is the lowest number.
How did you find that out ? We are booked on a UK Staycation , on Sky Princess and booked a suite in case it was crowded - will it really be 1000 people as capacity is 3660, we were anticipating 50% hence booking the suite in case we needed to escape!
-
Booked guaranteed cabin S6 (as unable to book a cabin number) now wondering what it will be like at the front of ship - how rough can it be sightseeing round the UK coast ?? Would never book a cabin here if going through the Bay of Biscay!! Hoping for the best 🙂
Are the cabins good/bad ?

Initial sailings, according to the Carnival broker briefing, will be sailing at around 50% capacity.
Thank you.....I knew if I asked someone would know ☺

Breakfast in Sabatinis is only for full suite passengers. minisuites are not included.
Thanks so much for quick reply, sounds like a good perk !

Hi , I have just come across this post and wondering if anyone knows if this speciality breakfast is for suite only customers or if mini suite have access also?
We have just booked a suite on Sky Princess for a 3 night staycation in UK , as we will still be abiding by social distance rules wondering what capacity could be like if all suite and mini suite have access , that's presuming they are aware of Sabatini's , presuming many could bevfirst time cruisers and not work it out in 3 days onboard or could go other way and they research everything !!
I know the capacity will be reduced but can't find anywhere by how much .....thinkng the inside cabins could have been removed ?

Just off the Eclipse and Captain Leo was the master. As you say he was very visible from attending the Cruise Critic function, attending the "kids" functions, to giving an excellent presentation on the Ships Navigation
Thank you for your reply, really hoping he will still be aboard when we depart 18th October but as he is onboard now I'm not so sure - will miss the "voice from above" !
-
I'm a bit confused !! Is Captain Leo onboard Eclipse now or is he on holiday ??
I read one post saying he is on now and one saying he is on holiday.... we are sailing 18th October 2017, we had him as Captain on Eclipse December 2016 - very visible and great for the children TIA
-
We are doing a TA on the Eclipse in October, I hope he will be on the ship.
He was our Captain Christmas/New Year cruise 2016 - fabulous captain, loved "the voice from above!" Really hope he's back for this cruise! :D
-
As mentioned in post #2, check the Who's on board thread. EM
Thanks, how do I do that?
-
Is Captain Leo still onboard? We cruised with him Christmas/New Year Dec 2016 - loved him. Have booked again October 2017 Canaries from Southampton - wondering if he will still be onboard? Not sure how long they are on for ? Tia
-
Wow! Thank you for your fab reply! I am actually very happy with what I have booked (had the same cabin for December 2016 so know its good!) Just miffed a bit that our cousins appear to get preferential treatment! Didn't know about it until Celebrity told me, think best to forget and stop looking at the price 😁
