I am booked on Empress for May 2018 and just read the email. I'm not sure what to think. I'm not familiar with either ship....have only been on the larger ones. Came here to see what others are saying.

Do you know if the deal is only for certain cruises? I didn't see anything for our cruise but it is not until 11/18. Maybe that is why?

From what I saw, those specials went through Feb. 2018. Our March cruise was not included. I check daily and I'm still waiting for something to show up.

I am seeing $55/day as well for March. Hoping to see the combined Deluxe and Voom package at some point.

I'm also sailing March 10, 2018 but on Independence. I have been watching the prices since the drink package became available on my cruise planner but haven't seen any deals yet. Is there any rhyme or reason as to when they might run a special?

All of the local Orlando stations have reported the story this morning. One had a reporter at the port although they have said they don't know when Anthem will make it here, they are 12 hours behind schedule. They said that the coast guard has checked in with Anthem and no distress calls have come in. WFTV seems to have the most coverage and said they just received an announcement from Royal Caribbean, but of course it's "upcoming".

Interesting... 11:15PM and I googled "Anthem of the Seas."

 

No news stories whatsoever.

The weather report on WESH in Orlando mentioned the storm and that the Anthem of the Seas was out there. He said it was an awful ride, they are headed for Port Canaveral, and they will be monitoring that story.

Good morning Trainmain-2, I have finally caught up with this thread. What a beautiful tribute to your wife. I'm sure you probably don't remember, but I consider myself fortunate to have met you and Carole several years ago when the Mariner was still sailing out of Port Canaveral. You still lived in S.C. at the time, but I think had relatives in the area and stayed near here the night before the cruise.

Another vote for the Blond Giraffe! I had the pie. DD had the frozen chocolate covered on a stick. Both were heavenly. I think they may have more than one location. We went to one on Simonton St. which is where the factory is.
