- Booked on Emerald Princess for Jan 4th, 2021 10 day
-
when we sailed on Ruby Princess. I talked with the Maitre D the first night giving him a food allergy list. He arranged my meals every meal in advance. It was nice to know what I would eat the next day and not have to worry about a react to any of my food. Princess did so much better then when we sailed on another line.
Princess does have a form you can fill out pre cruise for dietary needs. It does help.

Just off the Ruby Princess. We had ATD and did make reservations a couple of nights. Never waited more then 5 minutes for a table for 2 and even scored getting the section we wanted to sit at.

I think The OP was stating her disappointment in the cruise and is entitled to that with out having to defend it. I am never expecting when I go on vacation whether it is cruise or land. I am in charge of my enjoyment and I make the best of what I paid for. With 3000 or more people all try to dine and enjoy their vacations why does one expect the ship to make sure they are happy or doing everything they plan to do. 3000 people are all doing about the same thing. Make the best of it expect nothing and you will never be disappointed.

This is good to hear. My list of allergies has only gotten more complicated and because of that I haven't tried a specialty restaurant. It's in the list for our next cruise.
How far in advance did you submit your allergy list to the chef in the specialty restaurant?

I did it pre cruise check in and never even gave it a thought after that. When to dinner at specialty and boom first thing asked was which one of us had the food allergies. Easy for sure.

Thanks oh4nono! Well look for a taxi then!
Just ask any porter at airport they are great for getting you to a taxi.

I have major food allergies the list is 3 pages long. I know what I can eat and watch the menus closely . I can tolerated some things in small amounts like once a month with out problems. I filled out pre-cruise forms on food allergies and my last cruise I was surprised by how it was followed. Not so much in the MDR but in specialty restaurants the chef followed it very closely. I order he said no you can not have that. The Chef made sure I had a very good dinner and sent out little treats to me that I could have.

We love LGB too. Do you know if Uber is available that airport?
Uber as of last year was not allowed to enter LGB so we took a taxi.

I am loving your post and thank you for sharing. I am noticing that the main dining room menu does not seem to change much.
doing this cruise in Jan 2018

I smoke and cruise. Next cruise in Jan 2018 on Ruby Princess. So as not to offend the non smoker where is smoking allowed on the outside decks. I know the casino which can be pretty smoky for me.

I saw this earlier today on our new stations list and sure enough my number was on the list. So forms filed and I will file 3 claims as it says you can.. Not holding out that I will receive anything .

Just recently I used my own scooter to get to and from the plane. It was super easy. Security was faster then with a porter. All the TSA were wonderful and very careful. This was at Maui airport and the Seattle airport. I will continue to do it that way. Take my scooter right to the gate of plane. Hope that helps. I did not have to do anything with my scooter as in fold or take anything apart. I have a ZIP'R ROO4.
