  1. Most of you are living in a FOG!!!  They cruise ships are not going into dry dock and costing anywhere from $150-250 Million dollars to refurb so you can get an AMPED vacation.  GEE I WONDER WHY??? maybe because you cant put 1500+ workers for 4-6 weeks in close proximity during a WORLD WIDE VIRUS OUTBREAK!!!!!

Just cancel you cruises and move on... How self centered could you be? Bunch of whining babies....

  2. I was at guest services when the ship pulled away with the Aunt at the desk, as well as later speaking with her at the pool about it.

OK, thx that clears it up. Totally reliable 3rd party info.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 flavors last night...

  3. We just cruised on the Victory. We met someone on the ship whose neice and nephew had their birth certificates in their checked luggage. When they found the luggage the ship had left. They got charged $300 per person to get on in Key West. To me that seems ridiculous.....they already paid, incurred stress, and extra costs. This doesn't seem right to me.

Your regurgitating 3rd party info, from strangers. How could you even think the story is as told. You're basically trying to answer, an unanswerable question. That's conjecture.

  4. It seems to me that lots of you fine folks have Verizon points you want to use before the program goes away in Nov.

That being said, here is where the opportunity kicks in. Ok, come in real close. I don't want to yell this out. We all should buy as many gift cards we can at the 10% off. Then pool out cards together and make a bid for the Fantasy this is for sale at $100,000,000. That's one hundred million to everyone else. We offer $90mil for it in gift cards.

    Now for the geniuses part.

We buy the ship at $90 mil. The cards only cost us $81 mil. because we got 10% off the purchase. We turn around and FLIP IT. Sell it for the original $100 mil and split $19mil a few thousand ways.

  5. Can my husband get away with wearing black jeans that are not faded or ripped for formal night? He hates to dress up! He will wear a black/dark polo shirt with the jeans. Is that acceptable? Or will the maitre'd turn us away?

He will be fine. In fact slightly overdressed in my world.

As a great man once said "I will have a diablo sandwich and a Dr. pepper"

  6. Check my location. Southern English is my first language. I know full well that "bless your heart" isn't the expression of kindness it appears to be. :) I wasn't trying to be a you-know-what. I just can't grasp why someone would prefer wearing stiff, uncomfortable jeans to something like khakis. Khakis and some slacks are not only more comfortable than the type of jeans you are referring to, but are also within the dress code. That seems like a win/win. BTW, I LOVE jeans! But not the heavy, stiff, and uncomfortable kind you seem to be referring to.

Do you always have to have the last word? Bless your heart...

  7. How did you book the cruise, direct or through a TA? I ask his because I would contact special needs make sure it appears on the Res. If you went through a TA. And if they know what they are doing. They should be able to take care of this for you.

It's a relatively simple request, one that could also be taken care of within 5 min of being onboard, just in case all else fails.

  8. Yes it was a joke... a very easy one that I'm sure a dozen folks saw the opportunity for, but decided against. I appreciate humor, have even attempted it myself on occasion here. BUT, when it's every single post from someone (and I'm not naming names ;) ) It becomes annoying. I have absolutely nothing against folks making a "funny" on here. I do it myself. But "in moderation" is the way to go. Imagine if only 25% of us here on CC posted a one liner three out of four times we posted. This site would be all but useless in regard to its intended purpose. Moderation. That's all I'm suggesting. And no, I don't need a chill pill... was never angry for even a nano-second.:)

  9. Carnival Cruise Ship Cancels Port of Call Due to Medical Situation

Carnival Fantasy heads back to port and cancels port of call due to a medical emergency.

Carnival Fantasy which is currently the oldest ship in the Carnival fleet headed back to its homeport in Mobile, Alabama due to a medical emergency where a passenger needed urgent and further medical care on land.

The vessel was on the second day of a 4-day Western Caribbean cruise and already sailing towards its only port of Cozumel, Mexico when it turned around back to Mobile.

Carnival Cruise Line has released the following statement to Local News:

Earlier today, Carnival Fantasy had to return to its homeport of Mobile, Ala. to disembark a guest experiencing a critical medical emergency. The ship was on the second day of a four-day cruise that departed the Port of Mobile yesterday.

As a result, the ship will be forced to miss a scheduled call in Cozumel, Mexico and the remainder of the voyage will be spent at sea.

All guests on this voyage will receive a 50% refund of their cruise fare and a 50% credit on a future Carnival cruise. In addition, any guests wishing to disembark in Mobile will have the opportunity to do so and will receive a full refund of their cruise fare.

Carnival sincerely apologizes to its guests for this disruption of their vacation plans. Returning to Mobile was imperative based on the seriousness of the medical emergency. The well-being of our guests and team members is always our foremost priority.

Carnival Fantasy operates four- to 10-day cruises from Mobile, Ala.

Due to the passenger needing critical medical attention the ship is now not able to call in Cozumel as scheduled on August 19. Carnival Fantasy will now sail a cruise to nowhere where the ship will stay out at sea until arriving back into its home port as scheduled on August 21.

Carnival has apologized to guests for the inconvenience and offered a 50% refund of the cruise fare along with 50% of onboard credit. Any passengers wanting to disembark the ship have been able to do so with a full refund.

The ship is Fantasy class and the only one in the fleet sailing out of Mobile, Alabama. Carnival Fantasy is 70,300 gross tons and can carry over 2,000 passengers at double occupancy.

We do hope the passenger in need of medical attention is stable and makes a full recovery.

  10. Ironically, there is nothing ironic about the situations in the song Ironic. All those things described in Alanis' song are just bad luck circumstances. :p

Ah, in that lies the irony of the song not being ironic. That is the irony.

And the fact they will delete my unironic post about a song, that's not even remotely ironic, Ironically .Is in it self IRONIC. Strange how things happen.

Isn't it IRONIC. DON'T YOU THINK. A little too IRONIC. YEAH I REALLY DO THINK.... ITS LIKE RAIN-e-ain on your wedding day, it a free ride, when you've already paid. It's some good advice that you just didn't take. But who would of thought it figures???

Mr. play it safe was afraid to fly. He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye. He waited his whole damm life, to take that flight. But as the plane when down,,,,, he thought.... well ISN'T THIS NICE!!!!!

  13. Nelver heard of funds being redeposited to a gift card. Story is off.

At best they would issue you a new card. As these card do not go through a CRP (centralized redepositor process). Only credit, and reloadable bank cards that go through the same process as a credit card have the ability to reissue funds back to the originating card.

These are considered a UNIFIED FUND TRANSFER. Unlike a credit type of card that is an OMNI FUND TRANSFER. but then again, who am I anyway to tell anyone about this.

  14. Yeah, it's like people posting frivolous posts, that are extremely narcissistic. And taking up valuable message board space.

    How ironic.

  15. Why pick a connecting cabin if you are only booking one cabin? It is so frustrating for people with families that actually NEED connecting cabins to look at deck plans and see tons of connecting cabins with one cabin already taken! I don't even see why cruise lines allow this! It is not location either, because most of these cabins have single non-connecting cabins on each side of the pair. So frustrated!

Yeah, it's like people posting frivolous posts, that are extremely narcissistic. And taking up valuable message board space.

They just didn't know any better. How ironic...

  16. "Once in the buffet you touch every scope handle, if someone before you had the Norovirus and you then touch your mouth later as you eat, you now have it"

Hand Sanitizer doesn't kill Noro so your point is moot.

I prefer to wash my hands, but will use sanitizer if I can't. My routine at any buffet or restaurant is to use my right hand to serve and my left hand to eat ( if I need to eat something with my hands, say a dinner roll). I also keep my hands away from my face and do not use my hands to scoot my chair in. I have sailed a lot have never been sickened by a cruise, so odds are that my routine works well.

You are wrong about norovirus. The cruise lines buy alternative commercial formulations of the hand sanitizer. It's much more effective then the retail product.
