  1. We absolutely loved the Thermal Spa!  We also had quite a few cold days and the hot tubs out on deck were always packed on nice days. This was a wonderful retreat. I was able to do all my physical therapy in pool, enjoyed the heated loungers then husband and I enjoyed reading with he view of the ocean. Wonderful way to wind down for day or relax before dinner.  I do agree with the comment it is a quiet atmosphere so 6 people is fine if you respect that.  We are booked on the Gem again next Jan  and I cant wait to book Thermal spa pass again! Not sure about drinks, They do have flavored water and some fruit available. Maybe if its in plastic cups? Enjoy your cruise!!

  2. Hilton Garden Inn is a nicer hotel in a nicer area. Hampton Inn is located on Route 46 East, right next to the New Jersey Turnpike exit. Not that it really matters, I am a retired Municipal Police Lieutenant from Ridgefield, New Jersey, the first municipality east of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. The Hampton Inn has had a few relatively large drug arrests at their location in the past six months. Drug dealers apparently like that location to spend the night there. Hands down, I would personally stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. Newer, nicer, and in a better area just east of the New Jersey Turnpike.

Thanks so much!! I was second guessing our reservation and I am glad I saw this. Does anyone know how reliable the transportation to port is from Hilton?

  3. 59 days, Gem from NYC. Last email was 09/19 that we would know within 2 weeks. Called NCL today no update yet. Not angry, and honestly I am open to anywhere (well, not north and not Cuba) but really would like to know were we are going! You would think those cruises leaving sooner would get notification sooner then those later. Trying to be patient.

  4. Hoping someone has gone one or both of these excurstions. We are going to San Juan in Dec. on NCL Gem for anniversary. Right now we have their City Tour booked. They don't have many to choose from. We are looking for a casual, sight seeing tour, especially forts and Old City. But I am reading somethings that the ship tours are packed buses and rushed. The cost is only $10 more for the excursion thru Shore Excurstioneers and seems to be slower and less people. Thoughts?? pros and cons on either? Reviews in general about what you see or don't get to see? Thanks for any feedback!
