  1. I have only cruised Oceania. I am looking at a Regent cruise in November in the Caribbean and will be taking my 92 year old mother. We will not do any excursions and will just enjoy the ship for a week. My question is- where do I find a Regent travel advisor? I am not thrilled with the one I have used for Oceania and I'm hoping to find one with Regent knowledge. I am just looking for resources so I hope I am not violating any rules of this board. Thank you so much for any help.

  2. We ate at Jacques two nights ago. I was also disappointed in the way it looks. Very generic with little flavor of France.  I do love the new PH1 suites. The bathrooms are beautiful. I love the shower and all the storage. I have also  been “under impressed” with the new decorations in the public parts of the shop. It’s all lacking any color.  But- that’s just my opinion! I’m still having a great time!

  3. RBtan-

I am so sorry that happened to you. I hope we will be on the same cruise together at some point and I would be thrilled to meet you both and share a meal! Your attitude goes a long way to prove that this is the other couples' problem---not yours!

  4. Didn't visit Cuba on Oceania, but perhaps what few comments I have will help you or others:

Don't worry about not being able to go off on your own. There seems to be a whole lot of hysteria about that, especially after trump had Treasury revise the regulations for Americans visiting the country. I doubt you'll have problems.

I'm not sure how prevalent this is, but when we were there, I tried to use my cell phone. After that it didn't work until we got back to Miami. I had the IT person on our cruise ship look at it, but access was blocked. It happened to some other cruisers and crew members who tried to use their phones in Cuba. To be safe, I would turn your phone off before you get to Cuba and not turn it on until after you've left. IT person says he thinks local telecom company blocked it. Be careful.

As for the ship, we really enjoy dining on the Terrace. Yes, it's a type of buffet but it's a wonderful one, and we like being able to eat outside if the weather is good. In Cuba, it should be!

Be prepared to take lots of pictures of the cars (i.e., more than one photo card, or more room on your phone if you use that for photos). The cars are really, truly everywhere.

We had a great time. Enjoy.

Did you use your phone for a phone call or for internet? I had been planning on using my phone onboard while we overnight in Havana. Love to hear thoughts from others about this. Thanks so much.

  5. If I do bring wine aboard and pay the corkage fee, if for some reason we do not finish the bottle at one sitting- will it be kept for me as they keep the wines you purchase onboard? Looking forward to a Sirena cruise of Cuba this summer and I really appreciate your help! Thank you.

  6. Hi. This is only my second cruise and the first one I have had to organize! On a Sirena cruise in June to Cuba. We disembark at 8 am. What is a reasonable time to book a flight home from Miami? I will have my older parents with me and we will will our own private transportation from port to the airport. Thank you for helping me with this question.

  7. We are excited to go on our very first cruise in February. I have a question though- I keep reading about how horrible the internet is on the Marina. We are in a concierge Veranda cabin and I have been told we have an internet account in the cabin. I have children at home and I do want to keep in touch with them. I plan to have both my phone and my ipad with me. Can someone tell me what "horrible internet" means? Will I be able to email them? Or call them? Thank you so much!
