  1. Thank you very much, Becky, for your excellent review. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The very detailed information you have included, together with great photographs, will be really useful next month when I will be sailing on the Millennium with friends. I cannot wait!

I really appreciate your taking the time to post such an informative review. You have answered many questions which prospective travellers might have.

    Thanks again,

    Kath

  2. Hi Bunny,

All the advice you received above is very helpful and will, no doubt, be very useful to you. If you have a Drinks Package as part of your deal, great. I have found, previously, that drinks can prove expensive, over the course of a week (or longer), even if you are only drinking sparingly or just minerals.

Have a great holiday. I am really looking forward to my cruise to Alaska in September.

    Enjoy.

    Kath

  3. I have learned something from following this thread - Celebrity need to introduce changes to their practices if they do not want to lose customers. I am booked on a cruise to Alaska with Celebrity later this summer, my first with this company, and if I am treated the way that some of the previous posters seem to think is acceptable (i.e. As a second class citizen if I am not on a cruise organised excursion), then it will also be my last cruise with this company. There are, after all, other companies offering similar services.

My next cruise will be a Baltic cruise and I now know, for certain, that will not be with Celebrity.

  4. No-this is wrong. I'm totally talking about the immigration line-NOT the line to get off the ship. Most of the ships tours were taken upstairs and we think they had their own private immigration line to go through. We "think" that line got too long so they brought people downstairs to the lines that everyone else was waiting patiently in. This was long after everyone had gotten off the ship. Totally about immigration.

I have to say, Teanne, that I understand exactly why you were annoyed. I would be too!

  5. Just to let you know, valet to the airlines is not available in Vancouver. It is not available in ports outside of the US. In any case, remember you have to be out of the cabins by 8am. Carrying luggage around on crowded ship is not my choice. But enjoy your cruise. Took it last year and was awesome!

Many thanks for that info. Given that we will have to be out of the cabin at 8am anyway, we may just go with the usual arrangements, put our bags out the night before and leave following our breakfast. Thanks to everybody for your information. :)

  6. At this time Luggage Valet is only available in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Seattle as far as I can tell. You could try to get a day rate at an area hotel and store your bags there until you go to the airport.

    Thanks for your help.

  7. Generally the self-disembark passengers are off first, however on our last cruise we were travelling with friends that used the luggage tag system and were one of the last groups off. We just held onto our bags in the lounge with them and disembarked with our luggage at the end. Just know that you will have to drag your bags around with you to the waiting area on board.

    Thanks very much for that.

  8. We never put our luggage out. I don't want the last night spent packing. We always take it ourselves. [emoji6] And we always leave at the latest time permitted!

Thanks, Yvonne. That was kind of what I was thinking too.

  9. Look into their luggage valet program. If it is available they transfer your luggage directly to the airline.

It is not offered at all ports but would be the best option for you if it is.

    happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌞

Thanks for that, Miched. We will certainly do that. It is a very handy service when we will be around the city for a number of hours. I believe they close at 4pm though so we may opt to have the luggage transferred to the airport directly (depending on costs etc.)

  10. If that is the case, why would you want to self-disembark with your luggage? Pick a time that works with your plans and have your luggage waiting for you on the pier.

Thanks for that, ECCruise. I thought it might be handier not to have to put our luggage out for collection the night before but to hold on to it until the following morning.

  11. I will be sailing on the Millennium later this summer and it will be my first Celebrity cruise. I was wondering if I could have some information for disembarkation day. Is it possible to opt to take one's luggage off themselves, and if so, is one obliged to leave the ship very early in the morning. Our flight will not leave until later that evening and we intend to store our luggage in the Cruise Terminal building while we explore Vancouver but are in no rush to leave the ship too early.
