  1. We have been sailing mostly on Carnival and Princess the last 4 years because of the "Kids' Club" hours and age ranges. We decided to try NCL again and the kids were not happy with Splash Academy. Carnival and Princess both close for an hour for Lunch and Dinner. 12-1 and 5-6. I think those hours are much easier for us. We would be able to drop them off after they ate at the buffet and enjoy a dinner at 6:30/7:00 in the main dinning room before going to a show or relaxing at a bar or karaoke. As other posters have said, the open times are not long enough in the morning to do anything without having to leave to pick them up. We were on the Breakaway and wanted to do the ropes course. After standing in line for over an hour, we realized one of us would have to leave to pick up the kids before we even got to the front of the line.

  2. We sailed the Breakaway Nov 6 - 13. There were 1200 kids on board. We signed the kids up the first day after the Muster Drill. Long lines for sign up, drop off and pick up every day, but I did not hear anything about a limit to the number of kids they allow. My kids usually love the "kids club". Not this cruise. We nicknamed it the kids prison. They did not want to go, because there were too many kids there. My kids are 6 & 8 and my niece was 3. The 3 year old did enjoy it. Maybe there were not as many in that age group.

  3. We've been twice and bought the aquarium passes at the desk both times. We did not have any problem. It was not even busy in that area. I know your kids are going to love it. You can always walk to the public beach next to Atlantis after with your own towels.

  4. OP, I booked a cruise last year on Travelocity and didn't know that they never booked it with the cruiseline, until about a week before. You may want to check on that!

We just started shopping for our cruise next summer and today has the cheapest price for the same cabin we've been looking at over the past 3 days. I think it's because we are sailing with 2 little ones, so it's 1/2 off on 2, 3 & 4.

  5. I organized the M&G for my Emerald cruise next week. The reason that I did it was to meet the people on the roll call and hopefully meet some of the officers. A few years ago I organized one on NCL and it was great. I was greeted by name by the officers all week and they even invited the group to tour the bridge.

After reading all of the comments about the Princess M&G, I am wishing I did not volunteer to do it again! Hopefully we will have some officers show up and I will not allow selling of tours.

  6. I was not asked for a credit card by that site so there is no way they could charge more. They only do a reservation and the price is the very same as what was quoted to me by the hotel.

I think instead of accusing them of being a scam you should have simply said they are a third party website and that others have said they charge an additional fee.

I don't know how that could be done though since they do not ask for a credit card.

As I stated, they did ask me for a credit card and then indicated the hotel does not accept Mastercard. That is what made me check them out. I was just trying to protect others from having their credit card information stolen and I am glad that you did not.

  7. On Norwegian and Carnival they have always taken one of our cards or asked our room number when we show up for anytime dining. They put the number into computer and ask where the other two people in our room are. We let them know they are at the kids club and they do not dine with us. They now know they will have 2 less at dinner every night and note it in the computer.

They also now can address us by name.

  8. I clicked on the link, noticed the price was $20 less than I paid on Priceline a few months ago. Tried to book the hotel and they stated the hotel does not take my credit card (it was a mastercard). I thought that was very strange. I googled the company name and I read the claims by others that the website is actually a third party site, who books your hotel for you through Expedia and then adds a fee to the rate they tell you it is going to be.

I then called my credit card company to be sure that nothing was charged and they said that no charges went through and they didn't even try to charge the card.

I searched for current prices at the hotel and it is completely booked up, so I'm guessing that's why the charge wasn't put through.

Glad that it worked out for you and hope nothing goes wrong.

  9. We are doing the same in April. We plan to take a taxi to Seabrook (about $55 + tip) and have booked Best Western suites in Seabrook which has a free shuttle to the port.

Has no restaurant but my understanding is there is free shuttle to restaurants within ten miles, and there is Subway sandwiches nearby.

That website is a scam. If you booked through them, I would call the hotel to confirm your reservation and call your credit card company to see what the amount charged on your card was.

  10. I was just about to buy the 830. It had excellent reviews on Amazon. I've been reading a bunch of your reviews. We are actually signed up for Passion Island (loved it last year) and Little French Key. Really looking forward to that one.

  11. While I can't recommend a tour company to use (we used the cruise ship to do this excursion because of several factors involved), I do have a complete review with TONS of pictures (they all go to the same place for the sharks/rays) listed in my signature. Maybe that will help ease the hubbys mind to actually see some pics. :)

Mitsugirly - Your review is what sealed the deal for me in the first place. I just had my husband read it and he said if I wanted to do it, we would go. yay! Thanks for the extension review.

We are looking at purchasing an underwater camera for this trip. Which ones do you have and which one do you prefer? Your pictures are great.

  12. I'm really interested in doing the shark ray alley tour when we are in Belize in April. I'm going to have to convince my husband and kids (6 & 4) that it's safe though! Which tour companies do you recommend for this? I've only found a couple that do this one.

  13. I assume you were dropped at Devil's Bay beach, you tried walking through the rocks to the other beach but decided to stop because of wet rocks and the short ladders. Why didn't you just take the path from the beach to the Top of the Baths to use the restaurant and restrooms? I'm confused...

I'm not exactly sure where we were dropped. There was no other path.
