Once again, I would use extreme caution when relying on these for that purpose. They do have a habit of wandering to other doors (or disappearing all together).

    Definitely have a Plan B.

Well, it might not work for everybody, but it did work for us. But actually, I was just trying to point out that some people might a reason for decorating their doors. Anne

Re the door signs.  They are all over every ship.  I don't get it and I don't see why people need to decorate their door but, hey, whatever floats your boat!

When my late husband's memory started to fade I would put colorful magnets on our cabin door to make it easier for him to find the right cabin. Anne

  3. So sorry for your loss! My husband died in Nov of 2020 and I have been cruising solo ever since, including four transatlantics. My experience is that there were always quite a lot of solo travellers on each of these cruises, some were widowers/widows, some were leaving their partners at home for various reasons, but one thing all solos had/have in common....... everybody just loves to cruise! The above post from #leaveitallbehind is good advice. Find your roll call for the cruise you are interested in, sign up and you'll connect with other solos. Anne

It means it's able to be combined with whatever the standard promo is.  Like right now the 40% promo.  Basically it means nothing!

Thanks! I kind o' thought so.......just used a certificate to book a cruise and got an additional $150 OBC, but nothing else. Was just curious if I had missed out on anything else😃 Anne

The "deal" for booking onboard is reduced deposit (other than suites) and additional OBC for booking onboard according to this schedule

What would/could the additional offer be?

These are all per person and sale pricing for our sailing.  Lunch pricing is cheaper.  So if you get a package you can eat at all of these places lunch on sea days and dinners.

I have an unlimited dining package for a TA on Symphony OTS with a lot of sea days. Theoretically, if I wanted to, could I have both lunch and dinner at a specialty restaurant on the same day or is it either lunch or dinner per day? Thanks. Anne

Unfortunately, you only get one coupon. (I cruise solo, too.)  However, you do earn an extra point per night for being a solo in a double-occupancy room, so you can get to Diamond Plus more quickly.  At D+ you get one free bag PLUS a $10 off coupon on another bag of wash-n-fold.

Not sure if you're aware, but as Diamond you'll also get four free drink vouchers per day, good for any drink up to $13 (at D+ you get five vouchers per day).  You can use these for anything from a bottle of water, fresh squeezed orange juice with breakfast, smoothies, fancy coffees at Cafe Promenade, cans of soda, glasses of wine, or cocktails/mocktails.

    Thanks.......very helpful information! Anne

I'm afraid it may be a thing of the past. I've done 3 cruises on S class ships since covid and it has not been staffed during HH on any of my sailings and I used to enjoy mingling with other guests there even did shore excursions with a couple I met.

Hmmm, I was on the Reflection TA this past April and the Sky Lounge was open for HH from 5pm to 7pm every day, with waiters coming around offering nice little snacks. Lots of people attended. Maybe they only offer HH on longer cruises? Anne

I did some research on Bimini.  My eyes lit up when I saw they had a casino at the Hilton.  "At least I can go there" I thought.  However, further investigation revealed it opens at 6 pm.

People boat from Florida to Bimini quite often.  They often have boat caravans that go over.  The fishing is supposed to be superb.

Just read on RW Bimini's website that the casino will open at noon if there are cruise ships in port. Might check it out on a port stop in April. Anne

  10. FYI: Laundry bags are now the reusable drawstring cloth bags instead of the thin paper bags. You send them out in them and they come back in them also.

That's a great change, those paper bags were really a joke. People used to use tape to hold them together!  On a luxury cruise line? Hmmmmm.......

Thanks for all the great information!! Anne

It's just one bag per Elite member. You should get double points for your booking, though.

Thanks for clearing that up for me! I suspected it but just wanted to be sure. Guess I'll have to either bring more clothes or more money, right?! Anne

One of our fave's is the laundry.

Speaking of laundry: I am elite and sailing solo. As I'm paying for two people, does that mean I get the laundry perks for two people or just for myself? I have a TA coming up in April and it would be interesting to know what to expect. Thanks! Anne
