October 2, 2022 on the Carnival Glory out of New Orleans
This is our second time cruising but first time on Carnival. Super excited as we are a group of 9, ready to have some fun.
-
My family just booked our first Carnival cruise for October 2, 2022 on the Glory out of New Orleans. We cruised out of New Orleans on the NCL Pearl in Nov 2017 and loved it. We booked an Aft-Extended balcony room and an interior room for our kids (19, 16, 13).
Our ports are Montego Bay, Grand Cayman & Cozumel (which we've visited before). I'm most looking forward to Grand Cayman for some snorkeling and sting rays. I'm doing research on Montego Bay now as I'm not sure what we're going to do there.
Happy Travels & Planning to everyone!

This is where we are staying for our Nov 2021 cruise. Can't wait to show our kids Miami and set sail on another adventure!

We visited Harvest Caye Nov 2017 and was dissappointed. I felt like the beach was a great size but the water wasn't pretty at all and it smelled. We had lunch at Landshark's and swam in the pool and of course hit a few of the shops, which there are a TON of.
Nobody in our group really enjoyed Harvest Caye compared to the other ports we visited during that trip.

My family and I are cruising Nov 2021 and will be in Tortola with NCL Encore but only from 7-1pm. I don’t think that’s enough time to visit the baths or is it?

762 days 😞 Southern Caribbean out of San Juan - May 2021
-
We've decided to go May 2021 instead of 2022 since our oldest will be graduating 2022 and we'll be spent out his senior year with all those expenses plus getting stuff ready for college. All that to say, we get to cruise sooner than we had originally planned.
Can't wait til the schedule comes out so we can book since we are a family of 5 and hope to get one of the Ultra Spacious rooms that will hold all of us.

We are wanting to book a Southern Caribbean cruise from San Juan for May 2022 and wondered when those dates would open so we could book and start making payments.

Can anyone tell me how much the lockers are to store our bag in at Chankanaab Park and does it take American $$?
-
How was Harvest Caye? Was the beach nice and water clear or murky? We will be there next week for Thanksgiving on the Pearl and I'm most worried that we will be disappointed in Harvest Caye.

Me too! Can't wait to swim with the dolphins :D

I am going on the Pearl next Sunday (I can't believe it is so close!!) and I have read the same reviews as you which worried me a bit. But then I remember that a lot of people do write reviews to complain and some people have unrealistic or perfectionist ideas. Any small inconvenience or perceived slight becomes a problem. There have been a ton of people posting, like in this one, who seem to love the Pearl. Overall, I think anything is what you make of it!
My family and I will be on the same cruise :) Cannot wait!!!

10 days...set sail on the Pearl for Thanksgiving cruise

Good info. We went to Tropicante last time and probably will try Blue Kay in February.
How did you like Tropicante? We are booked for that for our Thanksgiving week cruise in a few weeks. I went back and forth between them and Blue Kay and ended up settling on Tropicante.

I just bought the Fuji XP120 and it takes great pics for the price I paid $150 at Sams. Read great reviews online about the underwater pics it takes and cannot wait to use it in 3 weeks on our Thanksgiving cruise.

We are booked for our Thanksgiving week cruise this year. Can't wait to have a relaxing day at the beach.
-
We booked our Thanksgiving week cruise 10/30/16 and got a fantastic deal. 5 people, 2 rooms for $3500 total for inside cabins. Those same rooms and people would be almost double now. Glad we booked early.
-
The card I'm using for the onboard account only has a $500 limit, I do plan to pay cash 1/2 way through our trip and again at the end so I'm not actually charging anything to the card except the holds they place at the beginning. I guess my question is will they authorize $300 total or will they need to authorize $600 since its 2 separate rooms? If that's the case, I will only have my husband put the card on his room and he'll have to purchase everything on the ship.
-
If we have 2 separate cabins, and only want to allow my husband and I to charge to the card (we are staying in separate rooms, girls in one room, boys in the other) can we do that? I don't want to have to use 2 separate credit cards just for charges but I also don't want them to put a hold for $300/per room on that card either...
-
Does anyone know if we can use cash to purchase items in the park? We have dolphin swim reservations and on our paperwork it says they accept cards only no cash so I wondered if that was for the whole park or just the dolphin area.

Yes, we are all capable of walking but would also like to take one of the street cars to see the area before dinner.

We are crusing out of NOLA the Sunday before Thanksgiving. We arrive in town that Saturday, 11/18. Staying at the Marriott Downtown Convention Ctr. Wondering what the best mode of transportation will be once we leave our hotel and want to see Jackson Square and French Qtr. We've never been to NOLA before.
Also, its my sons 9th birthday so we are looking for a fun place to eat for a party of 9 (ages 9-60). Not looking for a super expensive restaurant but good food and fun atmosphere.

I watched a You Tube video of a couple on the electric boats and they seemed to enjoy it very much. It seemed like a great price and nice tour of the area. I just wish you could fit a kid in there with you so my family of 5 could ride on two of the boats and go explore.

We are going to Harvest Caye on Thanksgiving Day and are thinking about Parasailing. What is the price? I can't find it anywhere.
