  1. It seems on every cruise I've been on there's always some "characters." On the Brilliance we had what I called the "MuuMuu Patrol." They were three older, heavy set ladies (one in a wheel chair) who wore MuuMuus every day and we saw them everywhere slowly pushing their wheelchair travelmate all over the ship.

Then there were the crazy hat ladies on the Explorer. They would wear a different crazy hat every day and were always a fixture in the Schooner lounge at night.

Then there's my teenage daughter who has taken to wearing a winter wool hat (the kind with the ear flaps and big fluffy ball on top). She now wears it every second of every cruise - she even wore it under her helmet while doing a canopy tour in Jamaica!

And just curious, where do service dogs do their "business" onboard?

There is a "litter" box on the outside promonade deck. Its about 4X4 feet.

  2. How many days until your next cruise?????? Hopefully it's soon, as I know we all enjoy time spent on the open seas.

I only have 78 days until my cruise, and I am already getting ancious to go. I wish it was sooner, then the time on the cruise would just crawl so it seemed longer, lol.

14 days and then 26 glorious days of cruising.

  3. Try Cruising with Kids. We have 6 year old twins that have been on 7 cruise and we get rude comments every trip.

You would never get one from me. Kids just melt my heart. We enjoy cruising so much we could never be rude to anyone. Have run into a few rude ones ourselves but just over look it.

  4. I couldn't agree more. These are generally the same people who complain about youngsters having no manners these days, right before pushing in front of you in a queue.

Again though, I'm by no means saying that this is the case for ALL older people, some, probably most, are lovely people who will happily chat away to you. But there is a large proportion who seem to think that the world owes them something.

Also, I'm mostly talking about British people here too, for example, I've never met an impolite American.

Thankyou for that compliment. I am an older American and I think I am polite to everyone. We have met a lot of great people from the UK tho. And most of them were older.

  5. Glad you enjoyed the report! Actually, the sea days can be as relaxing or as active as you want - there is so much do to the ship - lectures, dance lessons, sports, socialising, wine tastings, etc. Or you can just lay around the pool and read a good book.

Lots of people kiss the Blarney stone and most live to tell about it. Don't let me scare you off.:D

livylotte: loved the "wind" jammer reference. Can I use that sometime?;)

batoryfirst: Thanks for your comments - no book. We have put off driving down to Panama City Beach, but that was before I knew about the beer hall!

hypo: I saw that after it was to late to edit. This is similar to another review I wrote and in describing the public rooms I left out the "L". If any of the hosts read this I sure would appreciate it if you could give me a space!:D

Thanks for the memories. We were on this TA with you. Was'nt Joff our cruise director the greatest?

  6. Capt. Johnny

Thanks for the great story. We need more with your attitude. I fractured my foot on a cruise ship and I did not let that spoil my cruise. My DH had to push me in a wheel chair and he had a detatched rotator cuff. He got the injury playing with our grandson at home. He had put off surgury to go on the cruise. No we did not sue RCI or get a free cruise. This was 5 cruises ago and we still love RCI.
