  1. So before I start, I said Uber earlier but Lyft was cheaper! Always double check! Got the the port gave my bag and a nice Lincoln bill to make sure my bag makes it on board. As soon as I walked in I timed myself to see how long security and check in would take.
I attached the picture. That’s how fast it took from Check in - Security - then having my caboose in a chair waiting to board. 2 minutes 48 seconds!!! I waited about 15 minutes and then boarding started.

Now I never had been on an M class so seeing this ship so beautiful and revolutionized is super cool.I hurried to my room, b-lined passed the welcome champagne and was so excited to see my name and suite class together. My Sky Suite is BEAUTIFUL! Im so happy I booked this suite.

I’m sitting in the retreat lounge and it’s so nice to see past guests reconnecting with one another, it’s very special seeing everyone hugging and the loud gasps of happiness when they walk into the door.
Now it’s time for me to make a few friends at the sunset bar.

We have a helipad sailaway later I’m soooo excited!

  2. Hello Everyone!

I’m soooooo excited to be live blogging a Celebrity cruise again! Last year I live blogged my first Celebrity cruise, my first solo cruise and my first transatlantic! This time, at 23 years of age my first suite on a cruise, and my first time on an M class! My first celebrity cruise last year has made me excited to cruise again. I’ve done the Royals and the Carnivals of the world, and I know even though at 23 that’s just not my way to cruise.

I hope you all enjoy my live blog and hope we all have a wonderful cruise!

What a night; Flew from Boston to Newark on United, it was a wonderful flight. Made it to my Hotel in Newark and crashed. I worked Saturday morning at 4AM and as soon as I got to the airport at 9PM it was lights out, and forgot the post the first post, so I’m already behind! Woke up this morning to planes departing and arriving and my inner excitement to board the ship. I’ll be ubering to the port from my hotel about 15 minutes and will begin to update you on the check in process!

I know a lot of you will ask my why at 23, I am traveling Solo, on Celebrity, and in a suite.. I’ll answer all that as the blog goes on. If you like to get a little understanding you can see my live blog last year to get a small idea.

I’ll update you when I’m on board later today! Thanks for coming along on the journey!

I think you might be on to something with this Solo Traveler Blogger gig. You are a good writer!!! Suzanne

Thank you so much! Hope you continue to have safe travels and had an absolute blast with trivia. I did remember; we never figured out who The Schmoes were! The mystery continues!

  4. We were on the same cruise. It is interesting to see it from another point of view. We didn’t go to any specialty restaurants this time and found the dining room adequate although sometimes not exciting. After a very difficult dinner at a shared table with people who insisted on sharing their extreme views, we opted for a table for two on other nights and steered very clear of anyone who mentioned politics or guns. I can sympathize with the OP's experience.

Overall we enjoyed the cruise. I was not too keen on the new production shows which seemed to me to be catering to the audience they wanted rather than the one they had. We had seen reports on this site of chaos in select dining, but we didn’t make any reservations and apart from one evening when we waited ten minutes, we were seated immediately at various times between 6:30 and 8:30.

We must of sat with the same couple because that sounds really close to home. Yeah I heard about the Select dining chaos and didn’t wait more than 5 minutes. I went between 6:00 and 8:00.

I agree the production show was more for my age group with the modern music. I think they need to find a good happy medium. The west end “We will rock you.” would of been a really good show to have as it would of catered to everyone. I enjoyed the shows but I would of enjoyed it more if it had a plot, rather than costume changes and aerialists. Overall though I loved the entertainment this cruise!

  5. Hi Epoch

Can you please confirm if you have an extended concierge class room service menu for breakfast?

Also which drinks package do you have? We have the classic and contemplating whether it's worth the upgrade. We'll be getting on when you get off in Southampton :-)

Honestly the menu in the room TV doesn’t say anything special. It the same as what is written on the breakfast door cards.

I had the premium package and honestly it was worth it I only paid extra for 2 drinks and it was a dollar. You get everything under the sun. Evian water, Cafe al Bacio drinks, drinks in the MDR and all the alcohol one would need. [emoji23]

  6. Day 13: the final two sea days. (Can I stay forever?)

I woke up late since I was super exhausted from the tour and being out the night before. I didn’t eat breakfast because I woke up at 9:50 and trivia is at 10:15. ZIP in the shower and zip out the door to trivia. At 10:45 once trivia ended I had to do passport control, they came on In Lisbon and clear the ship before we arrive in Southampton. It took 45 MINUTES. What was making the process worse was the passengers that were complaining the whole time that they are on vacation and didn’t want to wait In a line. I wanted to call the waaaah waaaaah police on them. They should be grateful they don’t have to wait with their luggage at the port. Afterward I went into the future cruise office and books lots of cruises. (Shame on me, my salary is about to go to a lot of cruises! [emoji23]) I had a wonderful lunch at sushi on 5 again. They are so kind there and the atmosphere was wonderful. I personally indulged in a miso soup, and two shrimp tempura type rolls that honestly rival what’s on land. Afterward I went to my room to do the unfortunate; Pack up. I was greet in my room mailbox with luggage tags and departure forms. I was sooo sad packing up and getting ready. Cruising is terrible for me I always leave with more weight in my suitcase ( and body) then I had intended in the first place! I finished packing and it was about 5:30 so I showered and get ready for our last evening chic. I went to the dining room and had some of the same table mates from two nights ago which was amazing and much easier to make conversation with. I went to see the theatre show life which was nice to watch and even had a small chat with Sue who was right on the side of me watching. She is incredible. Honestly. Then came the Marriage game show which was a complete travesty. These couples really were (coo coo) odd and their answers were even better. All I’m going to say is in a celebrity shower. This afternoon. You can make the rest of the assumptions. [emoji23]

I went to bed around midnight after a quick pit stop at the martini bar which didn’t disappoint. Then off to bed to watch my new favorite TV show Tipping Point (its British) but I love it!

  7. Day 11: I see it’s another sea day.

I finally woke up really really early! (8AM!) I did my usual morning routine but this time for the spice of life I went to eat breakfast in the MDR. Food overall was good but the time it takes in the MDR I would of been better off eating at the buffet. It was really cold and windy so they had blocked off the top decks from us so the day was pretty blah. Honestly I did my trivia routine booked some cruises and took a nap did trivia and got ready for dinner which was absolutely lovely! My new table mates that were not weird were excellent and I made some more friends. I went to the martini bar for the first time this whole cruise! I bottle even flew my way when they were doing their flare work, but regardless I made some friends there and had the best time. (I had two 25th anniversary martinis and two margaritas. [emoji12]) as I finally galloped my way back to what I thought was my stateroom I nearly hit the bed like a rock and lights out for me.

    Day 12: Late Lisbon!

I woke up really early to get pictures of us going to Lisbon but totally forgot we didn’t get there until 2PM. The alcohol really played games with me. I went to the buffet and had an omelet made to order which was nice the only issue is the lines are so incredibly long. Once the time of 12 came we were inbound to Lisbon so I went deck 15 forward right in front of the Solstice deck and took pictures coming into Lisbon. Made wonderful conversation up there and met some new friendly faces. As we got in I went to get my belongings and my tour ticket it Fátima. If you have a tour you have to go to the Silhouette theatre and then check in and either take a seat or run to catch your tour. I checked in at 2 PM and was already late to my tour that said to meet at 2:15 so I sprinted through the ship and outside. (Ship docks far from where the excursions are so be prepared for a good 6-7 minute walk!) got into the bus and headed 1 1/2 hours to Fatima. I have been here before and did the usual routine there. Afterward on the way back to the ship we had a panoramic city tour and it made us the LAST excursion back at 9:30 between security and the 10 minute walk back to the ship it was interesting. The stairs to get back on board were like half steps so it felt like you were barely moving up. The captain greeted us at the gangway a little upset but I smiled and said “We are on Portuguese time I’m so sorry!” I did get a chuckle out of him. I RAN to drop my things off because murder mystery was on again and the line last time was awful! After I dropped my stuff off I once again ran to the buffet because I hadn’t eaten since 1 PM.. So I swallowed my food in one gulp (literally...) and ran to celebrity central where I was greet to a half empty room. (I was disappointed I skipped dessert and now had a stomach ache all because I wanted to the show..) The show was wonderful and I need to give credit to Sue our cruise director she has been nothing less of phenomenal. She truly has been the greatest cruise director I have sailed with and should be praised as such. Her wit and humor is unique and her laugh is infectious.

After murder mystery I was Exhausted and I was out like a night lite.

  8. I’m currently on Silhouette TA where the crowd is much older but let me tell you everyone here they are all young at heart and consecutively have been out and about until the wee hours in the morning, everyone has been so kind and wonderful I couldn’t of asked for a better cruise, I am currently solo on board and 22 so I’m not the typical age demographic on board but I’m having the time of my life.

  9. Day 10: My Motherland.

“Ainda sinto os pés no terreno, onde meus avós bailavam o pezinho.” (I still can feel the feet of my grandparents dancing on the terrain.)

That one line in a song about the Azores just about makes me cry every time I hear it as my parents both were born in the Azores and I still have family here especially my grandmother.

Since we were here for one day I wanted to surprise my aunt and grandmother. I had arranged for my cousin to pick me up at the pier and bring me to my grandmothers house. Another cousin of mine spilt the beans to my aunt I was coming but my aunt kept it a secret from my grandmother. I arrived and was greeted with much love and my grandmother was inside. I opened the door to the house and saw my grandmother standing up about to sit down to watch TV and I greeted her and immediately the tear started rolling down her face upon seeing me. (I was hoping I wasn’t going to give her a heart attack. {I last visited was in August so it’s only been several months since I was there.}) We cried for a bit and hugged it out. I spent the day with my family and visiting other relatives that were working just to say hello and see how everyone is doing. I did go around the island on a tour even though I have seen it many of times. The island of São Miguel is beautiful. I would rate it one of the most beautiful in the world. When I get a chance I will post pictures I have taken over the years. After a nice day in Ponta Delgada, it was time to say “Até Logo” (See you later) to my family, which is always the hardest thing to do. I tried not to cry again hugging my grandmother goodbye but it’s very hard to have a concrete relationship with someone so close to you, yet because you live in two different worlds it puts a heavy strain on the relationship. Obviously my grandmother is in her 80’s so leaving her hurts more and more each year.. I have a deep connection to the island. A sense of belonging, a sense of yearning. I can feel the volcanic pulse on the ground where my feet stand. Honestly it’s tough to explain and sometimes even for myself to comprehend. I filmed sailaway from Ponta Delgada at the sunset bar since we docked bow facing forward. Afterward I went back to my stateroom to shower for the Tuscan grille tonight, I went back to my stateroom and just cried for 20 minutes as I got ready. Honestly I wish I could tell you why I cried, even though I know I will be back again and again. I finally dried my eyes and started heading for the Tuscan Grille.

    Tuscan Grille Review:

I was one of the first people at Tuscan so I got a lovely window seat. My waiter knew my name from when he booked my specialty dining on day 1. I was amazed 10 days later he remembered my name still. Even better; the Maître d’ of Tuscan was from Portugal! We enjoyed the conversation of our day on the island and he was phenomenal, we even share the same last name!

The food was heavenly, to say the least. I had the beef Carpaccio, fillet mignon and lobster rigatoni Alfredo, which was so creamy and delicious, and a decedent tiramisu. The limoncello is also wonderful, it goes down so well and was a wonderful digestif. After dinner I went to the sunset bar for a drink and conveniently my trivia team was there so I joined in and talked about how they all enjoyed Ponta Delgada which made me super happy! The show was a singer from England who was on “Britain’s Got Talent” and lost to the 90 year old Spanish dancing lady. He had a wonderful voice and was very playful and had some British humor I do appreciate, afterward I went straight to bed, watching some British television.

  10. I have a lot of make up work today!

It’s been a roller coaster 3 days so I will try to inform you of everything and boy do I have stories to tell!

Day 9: I woke up late, the last sea day and the last time we had to put the hour forward by an hour. Changing the time every day an hour forward takes a toll on you, and the awkward sunrise / sunset hours also helps with messing up your internal clock.

I had 25 minutes to shower and eat breakfast and then be promptly on time for trivia. I took the fastest cubicle shower possible, I would ask to go into the world records but, the bathroom is small enough that it fits only 1 1/2 people at the same time so you’ll just have to believe me. [emoji23]

Then after I scrambled to gobble down a sandwich I made at the buffet I bolted from one side of deck 14 to the other. It was a beautiful day about 71 degrees people were out sunbathing the past 4 sea days.

After trivia I went to the Hideaway with my trivia mates and we had a nice conversation. I love the coffee / tea station in the Hideaway, super convenient. Afterward I had lunch at the main dining room and it was delicious. I spent the afternoon at the sunset bar sparking up conversation with some friendly people. After that the usual progressive trivia and music trivia with my team then I went back to my stateroom to freshen up and get ready for dinner. (From hell.)

Yes, you did read correct; Dinner from hell was next.

So I was a little late about 6:30 when I went to dinner. As a solo celebrity really wants you to eat at a table of 8 and discourage solos eating alone and I was okay with it, since I can spark a conversation with anyone. Mistake. I got seated with two couples and 3 solos.

Let me reiterate; I’m 22. The rest of the people at my table are a solid 3x My age. What are the things you don’t bring up in conversation especially with strangers over dinner, especially in the political turmoil Americans are in; Politics. Let me preface you with this; Wisconsin couple, Western Pennsylvania couple, 1 Floridian and 1 Californian and then me. One couple started talking about owning guns and shooting people if they got them upset and that liberals are aggressive and rude and the other couple enjoyed causing controversy by wearing inappropriate political shirts and pretends he mocks both parties when in reality aligns his views with the other part. Now the two solos are both visibly uncomfortable. I can keep myself neutral in these situations but I could see that the other two are VERY Uncomfortable. I tried not to look at my phone so I wasn’t rude but the urge to escape from the conversation was very high. Both solos before dessert excused themselves and one of the couples asked “oh, was it something we said?” I was in utter astonishment that she couldn’t tell how uncomfortable both of them felt... I felt as the most sensible one on the table.. afterward the conversation switched after they left to being my therapists. (Everyone views me as their child and loves giving me advice, I’ll take it, it’s for free. [emoji23]) So I tried and skedaddle as fast as I could after dessert. I ran to the show cosmopolitan in hopes they would come and sit with me. (Thank God.)

The show cosmopolitan was wonderful, just a lot of costume changes and song and dance with some aerialists. Afterward I went straight to bed because tomorrow was Ponta Delgada.

  11. I am enjoying your blog. Love your writing style and humor. Silhouette is our favorite Celebrity ship with our 3rd sailing on her upcoming.

Not certain if you know, but every after around 4:00 they have small sandwiches and desserts in the Ocean View Café. Might be more to your liking then the canapés that are delivered to your stateroom.

Also, check with the Captain's Club Hostess on a possible invite to a helipad sail away or sail in. Not certain if it's available on your sailing but another interesting event is the Inside Access tour. Price is $99 and we found it to be well worth it. You tour laundry facilities, engineering room, provisions, bridge, I95 corridor, galley. Very informative.

Sounds like your having a wonderful sailing and you've sparked my interest in a TA. Certainly something to consider!

Once again, thank you for taking us along on your journey!

I’ve done the behind the scenes on other ships so I would want to do it again, but we had the helipad experience for Bermuda but was canceled. We are going to Lisbon late so I think we might be re-invited for it then.

  12. Lots of ships in Ponta Delgrada tomorrow :

    P&O Arcadia

    Celebrity Eclipse

    Celebrity Silhouette

    Marella 2 (ex Thompson)

    Hope there are enough taxis!

It’s going to be a tough day tomorrow, I spoke with my cousins, one of which is a tour guide for cruise ships on the island and she let me know tomorrow is going to be mass chaos as it is the first time they will be having this many ships. I did read that they are calling in taxi drivers from other cities to come to Ponta Delgada to help out, but our public transport system is going to be interesting. Luckily my cousins are picking me up!

  13. Thanks for the live updates. Can you give a little more info on the weather you have had thus far. My parents are on the ship and I was wondering. Thanks

Nothing short of phenomenal. Only “Rough seas” we had were near Bermuda. Every day it’s been in the upper 70’s and midday can even be in the 80’s. People have been outside the past 4 days catching tans and in the pools.

Today we are traveling slower as we approach Ponta Delgada, and the seas are like glass it’s beautiful.

  14. Thank you for your latest instalment! When we go on Silhouette in four weeks, our stateroom is near to the hideaway so we are looking forward to going in there for a read, hopefully not dropping off to sleep in there! (I think you can get coffee from there and hear music from the atrium).

A question: do you happen to know if they have a guest choir on your cruise? If so, are you going to be in it?

They do have a guest choir! For some odd reason why voice sounds lovely in the shower, as if I’m singing with the angels. When I sing outside the shower the angelic voice I had gets lost. I wish I could sing, I sing so much, just not in front of others!

  15. Day 8: Erm.. why is this going by so fast?

Time flies when you are having fun? Why does it fly even faster when it’s for a vacation you pay for....? [emoji848]

Today the hour went forward again and I really want to have a conversation with the people that created time zones.. I woke up at the lovely hour of 9:30AM. I am sleeping my vacation away and I’m very upset by this, so tonight I’m putting an alarm on my phone to wake up at promptly 4 AM so I can enjoy every last second of my vacation. [emoji23]

So the usual 10:15 trivia but I had to still shower then sprint to the sky lounge from deck 10 very aft. Definitely got my morning workout in as I made it with 2 minutes to spare. Luckily the ship isn’t as big as an Oasis Class that takes ten minutes just to walk from the aft to mid ship let alone all the way to the front would of been another 20 minute commute. I think ships in the 130, 000GRT (Solstice Class) is the sweet spot in terms of size. Afterward celebrity has lovely presentation with their “Behind the Podium” lectures but they had a special one with the engineering team about how the ship moves and operates which was nice to listen to. (I am a cruise addict and I think I know how the ship operates better than the captain. {Not really but highly knowledgeable nonetheless. [emoji23]})

Lunch hit and I decided to try room service lunch. Everything went well and food was delicious I had a turkey club sandwich with fries and some fruit. It came in about 20 minutes it was relatively quick when I ordered. I spent the afternoon with a few margaritas and stayed at the sunset bar / Lawn Club area and enjoyed the rocking of the ship and the warm breeze. For April the weather has been warm, and the oceans have been more than generous to us.

Then the usual trivia with my friends.

Slight gripe: I’m 22. No I’m don’t know 50’s, 60’s 70’s or Motown hits. Celebrity likes to talk about “Modern” can we at least get a 90’s or 00’s category so I can actually win against the rest of the guests. [emoji23]

I finally made time to sneak into the Hideaway for a bit and I loved it in there. Quiet, introvert Quarters where you can read a good book or take a snooze like some did. (I don’t get it, why sleep in a public venue when your cabin is on the ship?)

Tonight is evening chic and I really didn’t feel inspired to get dressed and I wanted to try the buffet for dinner. I didn’t see anything stellar but I did have a Spaghetti Bolognese with some veggies. Then God illuminated one station. “Bistro on 5 Crepe Station” The infamous crepes from bistro on 5. I had a delicious chocolate crepe with Nutella and whipped cream and yum, yum , yum goodness for dessert. I loved it.

Now I’m once again at the sunset bar and im taking in the sun since tonight’s sunset is not until 9PM. These crossings are a treat let me tell you.

Tonight there is a couple singing duo of country / English rock then it’s Murder Mystery. I’m excited to see what’s in store tonight!

Love reading your comments and thoughts and keep your questions coming I will try and answer them for you if someone doesn’t beat me to the punch! Thank you and hope you enjoy reading my blog! [emoji5]

  16. Day Something: Yes, we are still alive and well in the Atlantic.

Don’t be alarmed as the Silhouette is cruising perfectly fine and my small absence might of had something to do with the premium alcohol package and an early bed time. [emoji23] (My mother would be so proud! {Hi mom!})

Yes so you will get a nice long two day review and an explanation.

So I started my morning off with not one but two phones calls at the wide awakening hour of 6:30AM and 7:15 because I made it in time to use the breakfast door order form, but they called when I was sound asleep and beat my alarm informing me that they had to charge me for the mimosa even though in big bold letters it says “CHECK TV FOR PRICES” So i kindly thanked her for waking me up in my dry raspy voice sounding like i haven’t had a sip of water in 14 years. Then she preceded to call once again to let me know room service was on their way up, which would of been the appropriate first call since it was during the time I ordered it. In 2.75 seconds of me hanging up my phone I hear a knock on my door. Very coordinated I see, or she just was late with the call.

Breakfast in bed was a success and I enjoyed some traditional American fare and some fruit. After breakfast I did my usual morning routine of trivia and then I went to the future cruise desk and started radically planning vacations and putting deposits on sailings I’m probably not going to take but hey! Why not right?! (Makes sure you book refundable deposits because Celebrity just adopted Royal Caribbean’s policy of non refundable, not cool..)

Afterward I went to the buffet for lunch. (I was chatting at future cruise for almost two hours. {Yes I love everything Royal, Celebrity, and Azamara and could talk for decades about them.})

The lunch buffet has started turning into a five course meal, each day the course is getting better and better. They had “American BBQ.” Themed lunch which looked great but I opted for some Indian curry that smelled divine. Afterward The usual routine kicked in of trivia until 4PM, then I went to the sunset bar where I made friends with some Aussies and I started doing tequila shots with them because during music trivia the song “Tequilla” came on and we slowly went down hill from there.

Now let me preface you again; yes I am 22. Yes, my poison of choice is tequila. I have done 20 shots of tequila before on multiple occasions. (Again, mommy is so proud. {my mom can also drink tequila like it’s going out of style, I take after my lovely mother, and I’m a momma’s boy! [emoji23]})

So I partake in some drinking fun with the Aussies and only had 6 shots in maybe an hour span. I went back to my room and of course after any alcohol you feel like you are the celebrity on the ship. I went back to my room and got ready for Qsine at 7.

Qsine Review: Sophisticated Wonderland with a twist.

Blaming the rocking of the ship during a transatlantic for your poor walking skills after feeling “happy” from the tequila works. I sat down and asked for a 1L bottle of Evian so I can clean the system from the tequila so I can have a pleasant experience dining. They give you an iPad and a whole lot of choices. Now Qsine is similar to Wonderland where it’s a bunch of little bites so you order a lot of food but then little bites add up and then hit you like a ton a bricks. Quick. I had the Painters Mignon, soup in a test tube, sushi lollipops, three ceviches, disco shrimp and lobster escargot. Not sharing and eating it all will cause you to gain weight, I could feel my hips increasing like a tire pump filling up a flat tire. The food was good. I definitely had better food at the other specialty restaurants. It’s worth the try , but I don’t think it’s worth going back to especially since afterward you need to request to be rolled back to your cabin. To put the nail on the coffin I ordered the Chocolate Tombstone. ([emoji6]) after my pure chocolate bliss I requested my airlift to my stateroom because now I’m slightly drunk and extraordinary stuffed I was afraid a bad combo was about to happen. I did take the stairs 5 flights up to my room to get the overstuffed feeling out and the wonderful Malbec wine mixed with the tequila and lights out I went.

Day 7; semi back to normal.

I woke up late, I hibernated in my cabin until 9:15 and jumped out my bed knowing I still had to eat breakfast then go to morning trivia. The Celebrity staff played a mean joke and moved trivia from the sky lounge to the ensemble lounge and it was to close for comfort. We had some 25 teams in there and we could barely hear Jaz but we are doing better every day we do trivia together!

At 12:30 I had a CC meet up with some fellow people from Massachusetts which was nice we ate at the dining room and I enjoyed a mushroom polenta. Afterward I stood behind and talked about Ponta Delgada and Lisbon with a couple until 4PM at the Cafe al Bacio. (My team is going to be sooo mad I me I missed trivia twice!) I once again had dinner at Murano (my new favorite restaurant!) today I had the Scallop Wellington which was super decadent, the Mushroom risotto which is to die for, and the critically acclaimed Dover Sole everyone talks to highly of. All of which was delicious.

Now after a wonderful meal at Murano I’m waiting to go to a comedian tonight then frisky feud as well tonight. I’m on my balcony and it has been nothing but wonderful weather. High 60’s low 70’s (I’m from New England anything above 55 is beautiful!)

Thank you for following along and sorry for missing a day.

I have been trying to post pictures but I’m still getting errors so when I get to my grandmothers house in Ponta Delgada I will try and post some with their WiFi. (Spoiler Alert!)

Can't go wrong with Coach. My DW is a Coach addict and bought yet another in Old San Juan on our X cruise in March. Even our passport cases are Coach. :)

Try ordering room service from the TV application. We did it twice and it worked perfectly.

Yes, my mother is very spoiled, but only because she deserves it.

I am going to try that also another day I want to see if I can order with the door menu and have it wake me up at the same time. I am looking for a breakfast in bed. [emoji120][emoji12]

We went to Cafe al Bacio a few times on Silhouette last month when desserts in the MDR were less than inspiring. Usually around 9:00PMish. There were always people there but we never had to wait. Don't give up on the Cafe - it's well worth it.

Yes I think tonight i am going to go before the 10:15 game show so I am have a nice coffee!

  19. Day 5 Midday, Sunnay, Hey Hey!

So I woke up dastardly late. I had plans to leave this ship for 9 and I woke up at 8:30 and my stomach felt like a desert, dry, barren and completely empty. I forgot after coming back from the movie to fill out the breakfast door thing so I could have breakfast with a view of beautiful Bermuda and not of the bottom of a passenger because she kept dropping her napkin next to me.. (it’s a story for later...)

I somehow ate in record time at the buffet and ran out the ship and caught the 9:30 ferry to Hamilton. I met one of the couples i do trivia with on board out of coincidences but I totally ignored them because photography was slightly more important than human interaction. (Yes afterward I did got and chat with them I am not as pitiful as you think I promise!) so I got off the ship and walked around Bermuda.

Bermuda is a nice novice training for London. You really have to change how you walk because everything is opposite from the US. We look left them right then left again, if you do that here in Bermuda or London the only thing you’re going to be left with is no teeth and a migraine. I did do some shopping but per usual on an island it’s expensive for a little semi naked lady shot glass. I even went so far inland to see if prices got cheaper and it really didn’t. I did buy my mom her Mother’s Day gift; a nice Coach Purse I got at a great price to my surprise, but it was hot and I thought there would be more to see in Hamilton but I decided to go back to the dockyard and walk around before heading back onto the ship.

After getting back on and leaving my stuff in the cabin I went to lunch at the buffet to give it another try. (It’s like a first date that kind of went bad but willing to try again..) So this time much better. More variety, fresh food was awaiting us and I came in at a busy time as many people were coming back for lunch around 2.

    Lady’s bottom story;

So I usual sit at a table for two just so I am out of the way and not bother anyone whilst I eat. This group of couples sits next to me because the next table over is for 6. This lady constantly kept talking with her elbows out of all things and kept dropping her napkin and silverware on the ground. I don’t know if the excitement in her conversation kept causing this to happen but every time she dropped it she would get out her chair and bend over right in front of me as if I was not there. After the third time I picked it up myself and was going to ask her if she needed a lanyard for her napkin, so she could keep it in place.

Right now I’m on my balcony enjoying the beautiful light blue water of Bermuda before my dinner tonight at the lawn club grill!

I will be back later with some more stories and some lovely food pictures!

  20. Every cruise that we have been on there were events listed in the daily and also posted on the bulletin board for singles to get together.

Don’t know if that is of any interest to you but you should inquire if it is. Ask the Captain Club host, Cruise Director, or guest Relations. They may also be able to tell you how many guests are single and under 30. We have been told how many children, Elite and etc on board so I don’t think it would be a secret or invasion of privacy.

As for the Meet and Mingle/Connection party or whatever it is callled I don’t think it had anything to do with you being single. We have attended many and no longer go because it always the same. Passengers will claim a seat and stay planted as they are afraid that they will lose it and not have a good view of the introduction. After the intro of the officers attending and some words of wisdom from the host everyone immediately leaves except for those that are partaking in a gift exchange or had a private tour arranged with others.

We have tried walking around talking to some of passengers and I felt like you did and I was with my wife.

    Happy cruising [emoji305][emoji568][emoji631][emoji560]

Whilst I noticed that posting I went the first night and it was more single older people looking to swoon some gals, I decided I’d rather make friends elsewhere.

I wish Celebrity would differentiate between single people looking to have a 13 day fling and Solo travelers who aren’t exactly in the mood to be frisky like the others.

It’s already bad enough I went on an adult cruise line at 22 by myself and everyone back home teased me I was going to fall in love with an old

Women and take all her money, I didn’t want to turn that into a factual statement and in turn will keep my distance from the single meetup. [emoji23]
