  1. So I get an arrival time of 1:00-1:30. I get in line at 1:15. I then have to wait in line to go through their security check. I get past the security check and it's 1:45. They direct me to the line that says "late check-in" which looks to be 10x longer than the "on-time" line.

So, to be "on-time" you have to arrive at least 30 minutes (better yet an hour) before your scheduled time. What a fail by Carnival. ☹️

  2. My friend has an early flight with his cruise out of Seattle. I wondered if anyone can tell me (or him) appr time to get off the ship if everything goes right. Obviously he'll be up early and walk off but I didn't know if anyone had any recent or past experience with this ship/cruise port.

The other thing is his brother only has a birth certificate. I'm not sure if that will add more time for him getting off the ship. Thanks

Took a couple of days for booking to show on our MSC account online.

Took another day for  OBC to show up under cruise details.
One for each of us. We are both Diamond.

Forgot to ask. Do you when, and how to tell when double points show up? My booking will be 13 months from now so I should get the double points with the $50.00 OBC.

We just booked a cruise for next fall.  I agree, with all the changes and cancellations, it makes it hard to do any real planning.

We received 5+5% plus the $50 OBCpp.

Missed double points by 1 week.

Did the OBC show up while your booking or after? Did you contact a rep or did you just go through the online process for booking?

I understand everyone is excited for no pre-cruise testing if vaccinated.  My concern is there will be selfish people that know they have symptoms even if mild and decide they are still going to go.  You know that will happen.

I wouldn't be too concerned because many people aren't isolating anyway. I'm sure there are some but I'd bet there are many who are going about their daily routines regardless of Covid status. At least that's what I've been witnessing.

What about a rapid test?  You get the results in about an hour. I know CVS does them. We have it scheduled for our upcoming cruise next week.

The question lingers as to what exactly "lab-administered" means. When I've done CVS/Walgreens tests I pulled up to the drive through, swabbed my own nose, handed my "test kit" to a cashier, and drove out. To me that's not any more "lab-administered" than a proctored at-home test.

I'll bet people will be able to board using the at-home proctored method but I wouldn't want to bet my vacation on it. Hopefully someone here on the boards will "take on for the team" and try the proctored method after Aug 29th to possibly give us more clarity on this.

What will you say when the guy who was not tested infects you or a member of your fanmily???

Probably the same thing he would say if he was infected by someone untested in the airport, restaurant, grocery store, shopping mall, amusement park, etc.

Pre cruise testing is a pain, but it does provide (although not infallible) a level of health safety. I wonder how all those cheering for the termination of the testing would react if they were infected on board due to irresponsible passengers.  If the testing is eliminated, it becomes more important that vaccination should still be required and that, at a minimum, the cruises lines should temperature check passengers upon arrival at the terminal.

My guess is they would react the same as if they were infected at the airport, restaurant, grocery store, gamily gatherings, school, work etc....

Not at all. ORANGE is the new YELLOW. It means enough covid on all ships for the CDC to investigate.

^ The “Orange” and “Yellow” ship colors were reversed for the COVID-19 program to go in a more logical color order.

The status of "Orange" is useless because ships are unlikely to ever be "Green" again and if they do make it to "Yellow" it will likely be short-lived.

Covid isn't going away and if someone has concerns that a ship had over 0.3% of their passengers testing covid they probably shouldn't be cruising because 99% of the ships are at that threshold now.

Go to Curative.com.  They have been offering free tests for US residents who have health insurance.  There are lots fo test sites in the Ft. L. and Miami area.

It looks like travel is not covered by insurance. Am I correct? If so, do you think free testing was available in the past and is not currently available?

    COVID-19 Testing & Health Services | Curative

Under what circumstances is COVID-19 Testing not covered by private insurance?

COVID-19 testing is NOT reimbursable by private insurance (outside the state of California) for purposes including, but not limited to, the following:

    1. Epidemiological purposes
    2. Surveillance
    3. Community tracking
    4. Employment purposes, including staffing decisions
    5. Determine need for personal protective equipment
    6. Screening (e.g., travel, sports, school, camp, recreational, social requirement)

thanks Kilkoyne will look at the web site

Looks like OnPoint has a few "glitches" but if you're prepared you can get by some of them (have confirmation number, cruise booking number, and passport number on hand). Some said it went easy while others struggled.

Does anybody know how far in advance you can make an appointment with OnPoint testing?  I tried asking on their online chat, but got no response.

A few people on other posts had issues with OnPoint, but because they only charge $14.99 I'll give them a try, but make a back-up appointment with Walgreens.  We already called our insurance company (BCBS) and they said they don't pay for travel testing so we'll be responsible for the $129 per person..

Please follow up with your OnPoint experience. Thank you

The mandatory pre cruise test can be a problem we are still trying to work it out , we fly   early hours from Glasgow to San Juan in December.

If they keep the mandatory test 2 days before the cruise , it means  we are arriving late at night at San Juan  Puerto Rico  on the Thursday so the only opportunity for us to get a test is at Miami Airport where we have a 4 hrs wait before the flight or in San Juan on the Friday with the cruise  departing on  the Saturday.

We have about 1 hr possibility at Heathrow  to get a test but that's tight.

Celebrity can't confirm if we could get a port side test . It makes you think of not bothering with the stress.

Just learned about this option from a different thread. You can have your at home test read online (proctored) and they will email you results that should work for travel.
