  1. we have a $50 off celebrity coupon which can be used by anyone for any new celebrity booking, but the reservation must be made by november 19. if any of you want to use this, let me know, and i'll give you the code# and then mail you the coupon. also, thanks to all of you who reassured me re san francisco turbulent waters.(now all we have to worry about is pirates.)

  2. we just booked this- are any of you thinking of going? also, can you reassure us- our ta says sailing out of san francisco heading north is very bumpy and we need to take seasick rx. (we took crystal from vancouver to san francisco memorial day with no problem.)

  3. But of course a compliment! You've embraced the Hyacinth lifestyle in record time.... Proceed merrily forward to the head of the class!

Coffee time? Anytime is fine with us. But I do wish both TJINWC and BDJAM would stop by and check the thread (but then those single guys live the BUSY life, don't they!!). We don't want to exclude either of them since TJ suggested the clatch, and BDJAM missed the last time. What would Hyacinth do in this most delicate situation ??? !!! ???

Gails95608 --- welcome to the club. Are you SURE you're ready for us ! ?? !

beav-well, you guys do sound pretty wild compared to two gals from the suburbs. but we're delighted to have auxilliary status. we'll be on our cruise on the 17 (and trying to watch our Monarchs wnba team championship game on espn on the cruise at nite), but would enjoy coming to some future gathering, if it's ok with everyone...by the way, we go to sanfrancisco every few months so my partner can see an art exhibit and i can have a "fine dining" experience. any reccomendations re splurge restaurants would be appreciated. (we've already been to fleur de lys, rubicon, campton place, gary danko, one market and ana mandara and la folie.)

  4. aaerobear, thanks for the kind reassurance. we recently celebrated our 25th anniversary, and my partner got grey hair very early (and is 10 years older), and we get alot of "are you mother and daughter?" in addition to "are you sisters". i do think in general 2 women sharing a room are regarded more benignly than 2 men.

  5. to convert- thanks for feedback- guess we'll take it on a case by case basis. on our first cruise on holland, we just left a note to the cabin steward to convert our twin beds to a king and it was done with no question. but we do get lots of friendly curious questions from other passengers...it seems like most of you on this thread know each other, so i feel a little de trop (also, we're in sacto but that does make san francisco our home port-does that count?), but was just so pleased to stumple across this thread. if any of you have any tips for novice cruisers from the suburbs, we'd love to hear it.

  6. we almost booked that cruise- it looked great- but schedualing constraints resulted in our booking the 3 day celebrity mercury northwest cruise on 9/16 instead. we really want to sample celebrity. this will be our third (all short) cruise. any tips on how to deal with the usual questions from other passengers and crew re marital status etc? even the northwest cruises seem to have a preponderance of straight, conservative couples.
