  1. so i can rent at the airport and drop off the next day at the cruise port and then book a shuttle to go from cruise port to airport after?

im hoping I can find a late flight the day we get off,

    thanks for the info

i have to do all my research thats for sure i have never cruised out of florida

  2. No idea what is the easiest way to do this since we are flying in  the day before the cruise from the west coast

is it easier to book hotel by the airport? and use private shuttle? or to rent a car and park it at the cruise terminal the whole length of the cruise?

its just me and hubby and our 9 year old it seems like renting a car might be the easiest but we have never cruised out of Florida

    any suggestions welcomed

    thanks so much

  3. so me and hubby have been on 9 cruises as so our teenage daughter

but wanting to take our gonna be 3 year old on her first cruise,

I was debating either NCL jewel or carnival miracle from LA mexican riveria,

    no flying for us etc

wondering if the Jewel has enough to keep lil one occupied, i see the waterslides etc...

anyone else with lil ones go on this ship before?

  4. I've seen a lot of reviews for the "Best of Roatan" tours (and yes, I totally realize that "Best of Roatan" is the theme of the thread), but what about the "Fun-n-Sun" tour? My girlfriend and I are fairly easy to please (lol) and the simple tour of scenic views, some shopping, some monkeys, and the beach all sounds like a lot of fun to us.

So has anybody taken the basic tour? Is it worth the $25/pp?

    YES YES And yes

we just did it last week

amazing !! tour of the island, monkeys, and beach,,

    best of everything

our guide was kenny.. he was awesome,

you will probably be with other people, but there were only 5 of us total

so worth it , you wont regret it!

  5. I researched for months and theres no rental place open on sundays,in galveston and the airport is about an hour away

not sure what days you are cruising, but most people get a shuttle, towncar, etc for getting to and from the airport, to the port

we just booked with Z limo for 91 total each way 3 people,

which was cheaper than a shuttle or taxi,

also had the option of renting the car for the length of the cruise and parking at the cruise terminal , but felt it was a waste...

theres a lot of threads about it,

    good luck,

  6. u can get a driver and car all day , will take u any were and stay with u all day for 2 people $ 40.00 pp , 4 people $ 25.00 pp, best thing going on roatan

heard about him before, where did they take you ?we wanted to do the monkeys and then the beach...

  7. Really? I think my estimate of $1000/couple or $500 is probably pretty close.

Figure maybe a cruise fare of $300 p/p

    Add taxes of about $25

    Add gratuities of about $30

    Now you're up to $355

Parking at the pier: $30 per couple / $15 p/p

Lots of socializing with old friends so I can easily see $75 p/p bar bill

Gotta do something in the port(s) of call: $50 p/p

Plus, if the organizing committee arranges any special private events like a party or no-host reception in one of the lounges add another $25 p/p

    You're now at $520 p/p

You can argue that my numbers may be off but there's no way dinner and dancing will come even close to $500 p/p. Not if you expect anyone to show up.

ok so it wont be that much for a dance. but who organizes those things???? and pays for the place to have it at? food ? DJ etc... thats what i meant... all in all the price of having the reunion somewhere like that for over 900 people ... i think the cruise is the best way to go , unless the school has a big reunion fund sitting somewhere ,

i know the OP didnt say anything about this being an option, but just in general, we had our 10 yr reunion last year in san francisco and it was over 10,000$ to have a place for 150 people, including dinner, dancing and open bar...plus we paid 100$ a couple..

    im just saying
