  1. Hello. We are wanting to book two cabins, balcony for hubby and I and separate cabin for our daughter and her friend (both 19).   We will be sailing out of San Juan.   Do they need to be booked in an adjoining cabin or across the hall or can we put them anywhere on the ship?  TIA

  2. Congratulations on your marriage!

My daughter and I did our first cruise on Elation in November. We used Jetway parking. It is right across the street from the terminal. $35 for the length of the cruise. There is a van shuttle that takes you across the street and drops you off at the terminal. We had FTTF so we were on and off the ship very quickly.

Half Moon Cay is absolutely beautiful, maybe the most beautiful beach and water I have ever seen. We did the horseback riding excursion. We rode on the beach and in the ocean. It was a phenomenal experience. I highly recommend it.

I had the Cheers package and utilized it well. I thought it was worth every penny. Specialty coffees, a mimosa at breakfast, fruity rum drink and couple of beers by the pool in the afternoon and wine at night... easy to break even without getting intoxicated.

We downloaded the Hub app. The chat feature was $5 per device. This allowed us to text one another and our friends on the ship. There is a social media package. It was pretty inexpensive. I can't remember the exact price. We purchased it on day 3 or 4 so we could facebook message family back home.

We loved our first cruise! The service was outstanding.

I hope you have a great time!

  3. We are sailing 1/25 as well! Can't wait!!!! It will be my husband's first cruise! From reading the boards, I think you can still opt for twice a day cabin service. My daughter and I sailed on the Elation in November and twice a day cabin service was provided with no questions asked.

  4. I'm new on here. Only cruised on Disney once. Trying out Carnival Elation during our spring break with 17 yo & 14 yo boys. Is there lots to do for them on this ship?

My friend and I took our 16 year old daughters on the Elation to celebrate their Sweet 16s in November. We were all first time cruisers. All of us had a blast. The girls went to the teen club and had a ball. They were out later than us each night. There were lots of teenagers on the ship and they all seemed to hang out together. They had a late night dance party for them on the lido deck, scavenger hunt, tee-shirt signing... they loved it! Lots of teens could always be found playing volleyball and basketball as well. Have fun!

  5. We couldn't find any public beach areas at Cable Beach. After wandering around for a while, we spoke with a hotel employee who was waiting on the bus. She suggested we walk down a side street and sit at edge of Melia's property. Security from the hotel approached us within 5 minutes. So we left and hit the Daquiri Shack and headed back to port...

Note: the walk down the side street was very sketchy. Lots of broken glass and it appeared some folks were living in their cars. Kinda scary for two women and two 16 year old girls... the kids were traumatized. :o LOL My friend and I laughed it off over a few drinks... its was an adventure for sure!!!

I guess the safest bet is to suck it up and buy the day pass.:D

  6. Domergirl, I agree with you!!! We were on the Elation in November and thought the pizza was barely edible. Even the pizza from room service was terrible. Actually, food quality overall was a major disappointment on the Elation. We are sailing in January on the Ecstasy. I'd love to hear more on how you feel the two ships compare!
