  1. Its my fathers 70th when we are on board and would like to book a table for 8 on the last night for the cirque du soleil show, is this available to book the dinner package in advance and also stipulate the date and time of show we would like, basically get this organ sided now?

Or if it was your choice would you book the Butchers cut speciality restaurant?

    Thanks in advance

  2. Getting slightly worried now as all the reviews I've read that were posted in July have very poor feedback and the content states that staff are miserable and the food is poor, ship cannot cope with the crowds onboard etc etc

Anyone able to give me some reassurance that there's nothing to worry about as we set sail on 20th October.

  3. We have the fantastic package is this the basic package?

There are 2 dining slots - Early and Late. You will be assigned one or the other. You must check the daily planners for times as, though they're fairly set, it is possible that they may be changed on a particular day for logistical reasons. If the set time (you get Early but want Late, or vice versa) doesn't suit you can see the m'D on embarkation day and request a change.

You will probably be assigned to Waves restaurant on account of your Bella booking. Breakfast and lunch were also served in Waves when I was onboard. You can also dine in the buffet. All other venues incur charges.

When you arrive at the port and hand over your luggage to the porters, you will be given a number on entering the terminal. Embarkation will probably begin at about 11am. The lower the number you receive, the quicker you will board the ship.

  4. I think it's a poor quote. Assuming that you can use 2 large taxis your costs should be in ballpark of 200€ for all rides (I count 80 for airport to Port and 40 hotel to Port). You are quoted 264£ which is around 300€

Yes agreed I priced this out using google taxi quotes and its very steep so will go DIY with journeys

  5. When you exit the airport after baggage claim there is a taxi stand. Walk to the taxi stand and hand the driver a print out of the name and address of your hotel. Since there are 8 of you, you will need 2 taxis, so bring 2 print outs to hand to each driver. This will easily bridge the language gap as most taxi drivers only speak Spanish. After that it is a swift and inexpensive drive to Barcelona of about 20 minutes and the costs are around $30 per taxi.

Is this a similar distance to the port ?

We fly in on the Friday then cruise same day, return on the Friday and we have one overnight stay at Hotel 4 Barcelona, then fly back to UK on the Saturday.

  6. Carrer del Dr. Trueta, 164, 08005 Barcelona, Spain this is the address its Hotel 4 Barcelona

Is your hotel called "universal" on parallel?

A taxi for 4 to the port would be between 30 and 40 Euros. (Fixed fare in reverse direction is €39)

If that is the hotel, it would be approx €15 -20 (short distance but think they operate a charge for taxis going into the port + €1 per bag in the trunk.

Back to the airport would be about €30 to 40

So taking into account you'll be much better off DIY and less tied into an organisation you'll need to hunt out. Taxis are plentiful.

  7. I have been quoted £33 per per person (8 of us travelling) for the following transportation. With travel agent

    Airport to port

Port to Hotel Barcelona (city centre)

    Hotel Barcelona to airport.

No idea of distances or if this is good value?

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

  9. Looking at booking the Aegean Maze next October flying from Exeter to Corfu.

I've read real mixed reviews on the Thomson Dream. but I have also read that it's just going into dry dock, will this be a full refurbishment programme and address the concerns over how tired the ship is looking, maintenance issues and general wear and tear.

Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

    Many thanks
