We were on Aurora before Christmas. We invariably use the self service area and on the second formal night it was so busy that there were long queues most of the time we were there. It can be a good idea to use the hot tubs when other people are dining and they are more likely to be empty!

Does anyone know how much they are to buy on board? It would be nice to have one when on board but not if they are stupid money.
There were none available for us to buy, unfortunately!

We are currently on Oriana - C deck outside delux. Asked steward for robes and they turned up later the sane day.

We had a balcony on B deck and were told they were to buy only. There were none left to buy!l

Strange this morning Marine Traffic was showing Venturas ten ders going to and fro.... Shame for those on Oriana. Have to say,re comments re folk on Oriana. You can be elderly, a couple and infirm but you can still want to get off and explore.

Tenders from both ships were out and about in the morning, testing the conditions, apparently. It seems that the "weakest link" decides what will happen, unfortunately. Many of us would have been able to use the tenders, I suspect, and we were not even allowed to enjoy the view of the port in the sun, as a fellow passenger pointed out. Once at sea, it was chilly!

We didn't drop anchor there a couple of weeks ago on Britannia. Too windy and sailed home straight away.

It was frustrating as Ventura's passengers went ashore, but our passenger profile is no doubt rather different as an adults-only ship with a good proportion of people with mobility issues.

Oriana and Ventura were both in St Peter Port today. Windy conditions kept both ships' tenders out of use in the morning, but Ventura's twin hulled tenders were able to be deployed in the afternoon while Oriana's passengers watched her tenders being lifted back into place unused. Sailaway for Southampton was three hours early.

Amazing how a post on bath robes has ended up about the size of feet.
Some of the threads really do make you chuckle, I love it!
Part of the fun of posting!!

Wow, no bathrobes! Next we might have to take our own food on board!

To be honest, the choice of food in the Conservatory is very limited compared with Princess or HAL!

We aren't in a suite or a mini suite next time, but we are in a superior deluxe balcony cabin on Ventura. Do we get bathrobes? (Deck D - booked it an age ago, so can't remember its proper title now!)
No issue if we don't - towels wrapped around us on the balcony at sailaway to hide our dignity, is fine ;-)
Check with P and O, but it looks like the bath towel optionn

After thinking hard, we may have had a mini suite, ie a glorified balcony room, on our 2015 Canaries trip. Any loaned robes have been the waffle kind, but our rather large, thick Hurtigruten robes will be put to good use on Aurora in December!
-
We had bath robes when we went to the Canaries, possibly on Ventura, in 2014, we think. Oriana has none to buy. If we had known, as we sailed from Southampton, it would have been simple to pack our very posh robes from Hurtigruten, given to take away last time we sailed with them, admittedly in a suite as they have limited balconies! On Oriana we have a balcony cabin.

We are on Oriana for the first time but we have sailed on Ventura and with several other cruise lines. We have always had bathrobes provided, but not on Oriana and apparently on none of the P and O ships. If we had known, we would have brought our own; there are none available to purchase on this ship either. Be prepared!

We have been to Alaska with Princess twice. The first time, our very first cruise, was preceded by the land tour; the second time we back-to-backed two cruises and so had a round trip from Vancouver. We preferred the Rocky Mountaineer journey to the Alaska land tour and would recommend that combination plus time in Vancouver. Princess gives you seven days at sea, right through to Whittier.

21 days on Zaandam in February, from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires via Antarctica! Wonderful, but I think that is about long enough for me on board.

I have to admit that we opt for the hot tubs, but Alaska can definitely be warm in July! I think you should go prepared and do the toe test.
If you had a week after your Alaskan Cruise.....

Look at the Rocky Mountaineer before your cruise.
