  1. We stayed at the InterContinental a few years back and we did not like it, AT ALL.I think it was just TOO big, at least for us.

Just felt very cold and too contemporary.

The morning of the cruise, and I did you not....... We had rooms on the 13th floor. It took 45 minutes ( no joke) to get an elevator down to the lobby.

DH and DD decided to just drag the luggage down 13 flights of stairs.

    Never again.

    YMMV

When I run across this problem I always take an elevator up in order to go down. They are usually empty going up.

  2. I just filled out my application two weeks ago and yesterday got approved for the interview. When I checked the schedule for the Tampa location, the earliest interview was mid September. Make sure to schedule your appointment as soon as you are notified. I'm wondering how long it will take to get the card or will I get it during the interview?

I had my interview at 8:15am on a Sunday morning at the Pittsburgh airport. The interview didn't start until around 8:25 am and at 8:36 am I already had an email that I was approved!

  3. Sure, it's walkable. But with limited time, $10 for the shuttle ride is worth it. If you walk both ways, you'll probably spend close to an hour of your visit just getting there and back. Not worth it, IMO.

We took the shuttle, checked out the Empress Hotel, the Parliament Building, etc, around the harbor. We briefly considered the Royal BC museum, but didn't think we had time to enjoy it properly. Did some shopping while walking up Government Street, found the chocolate shop. Then we settled in at the Irish Times Pub for some drinks and dinner. Fun evening! I think our ship was there from 7 to midnight.

Thank you for the information! I think we will purchase the shuttle ticket.
