As much as I love HMC, I'm loving Princess Cay!  Had a blast snorkeling the cove with tons of colorful fish.  Walked to George's behind the fence and had cheaper drinks.  Lots of palm trees for shade. It was a great day!!

I prefer Princess Cay because the snorkeling is much better. Still HMC is pretty great.

I don’t know. I’m booked for a September departure. From the looks of the channel, I’m expecting to leave from Norfolk.

I hope not, but it doesn’t look promising.

There is no way it will take till September to get ships back to Baltimore. The shipping port is way too important. I think it will take less than a month to get a shipping lane open. Rebuilding the is another story,

One berth at Brooklyn Pier 12, yes. Princess and Cunard use it so no problem for Carnival when not in use by sister brands.

MSC uses Brooklyn every Sunday so that would rule that out. Manhattan looks like the best option outside of Norfolk.  I wouldn't be surprised if they cancel the next couple of sailings on the Legend and send it to dry dock early. That would give them a few weeks to figure out what to do with the Pride when it returns.

I know nothing official. Not like anybody actually would because the truth will be scrubbed by Carnival anyway. But we were on the Magic in late January-early February. It was obvious to anyone who'd ever been on another ship that something was wrong, either with stabilization or propulsion, or possibly both. We attempted to dock at Amber Cove. Several passengers reported mud being thrown as the ship attempted to dock. Then the ship abruptly left port. It was announced that the seas were too rough to dock. Even though another Carnival ship had docked less than an hour before. This was after leaving PC 5 hours late and having as rough a night as we've ever experienced, and we've been onboard a cruise ship at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay during a n'oreaster, so we know what rough seas are. We were not in rough seas. The sounds coming from the ship were being talked about by seasoned and honest cruisers (not the "cheerleaders," you know what I mean) during the entire cruise. We were scheduled for a B2B and were so disturbed by the ship that we elected to lose over $400 just to get off once we got back to PC. I would not get back on the Magic for a free cruise plus a $1000. I'm not sure I'd do it for any amount of money. Something is seriously wrong with that ship.

We just got off the Magic 2 weeks ago and didn't have any issues.

  5. I have celiac and just got off the Magic this past weekend. We had YTD and had no issues. Each night our waiter would let me submit my order for both breakfast and dinner the next day.

When I sit down at the table, I would tell the waiter about my celiac. They will pull the order and confirm it with me.  They would bring gluten free bread if asked.

I could pretty much order anything off the menu and they would tweak it to make it gluten free.  Desert wise I pretty much stuck to the melting cake each night, although one night I did have the Creme Brulle.  They did have different gluten free cake options on the lunch buffet. They would cut a fresh piece with a clean knife when I asked.  I also had ice cream out of the machine without issue.

This was my first Carnival Cruise after being diagnosed and it was such a good experience, we booked another cruise the day we got off.

Let me know if you have any questions.

My thoughts are just since the epicenter is currently in Europe combined with the travel restrictions, beaurocracy, and open borders in the Schengen area, plus Europe cruises tend to be more port heavy.

There's also the fact that to get to Europe will require a large number of sea days on the TA cruises, and if something does go wrong or things change while the ship is underway, they can be put in limbo. Keeping the ships at current ports in the US where they can easily get to port within a day or two from anywhere will be safer in uncertain times.

I also feel that because of the current situation in Europe they will have a larger number of passengers cancel Europe cruises, and it will be easier to fill up last minute Caribbean cruises if everything clears up than it will be to fill up European cruises.

These are just my personal thoughts though

The cases in the US are likely to pass what they have seen on Europe. There is no epicenter anymore this is a global virus.
