  1. Thank you all. So Vancouver doesn't do inside passage back to Vancouver anymore?  That is what we did last time we did this cruise, it was on the Sun.  I was hoping we coukd do that again, because we could fly to Vancover the morning the day the ship leaves and then fly home the day we disembark too, that way don't need a hotel stay.

  2. I have noticed these extra perks free at sea.  Are these perks actually free or are there restrictions with them?

We sailed on ncl to Alaska in 2006 and loved it and are wanting to go back as our retirement gift to each other.  Only other cruise we have been on was carnival to the Caribbean in 2009.  I prefer the Cruise where I am not in on water for days, I like Alaska as we could see land all the cruise up the inside passage.  Also what port is better Vancouver or Seattle?

  3. In 2008 when my hubby and I went to Alaska on NCL out of Vancouver we flew in day before and went to a liquor store by our hotel. It was packed with people sailing the next day. We bought 2 bottles and put them right in our suitcases and never had a problem. On board we bought the pop package for our mix, we also bought pop in port as we're allowed to then. In 2010 we went on Caribbean cruise with 8 others and we all filled up rum runners and never had issues.

  4. My husband and I went on the Sun to Alaska in 2008 for our 25th anniversary. We have decided that we would like to go again for our 35th in 2018, so I have started looking at dates, prices etc.

I noticed that there are now drink deals, where pay a flat rate for drinks for the whole week, (infact there are some deals right now where they are included in price), I also noticed we are charged a daily fee for tips (I don't recall having that last time). My question is this, do you still tip over and above what we are charged daily? Is the drink package worth doing? yes we like to indulge on holiday.

Are there any other changes since 2008 that we should be aware of.

Thanks in advance for any feed back.

We are planning on booking in the next few months (we like to to it ahead of time, and put the downpayment down and gives us something to get excited about.)

    R & A
