  1. Hurricane Maria is going to be a cat 4 or even 5 hurricane, sweeping through almost the same route as Irma...... God bless those islands...

Any projection of how the 9/23 HOTS itinerary is going to change? It was St Thomas, San Juan, Labadee.... St thomas got swapped into St Kitts, but it looks like hurricane Maria is going to destroy St Kitts and San Juan.....

Anyone else going on HOTS on 9/23 wondering about this??

Yes - we are sailing on 9/23 HOTS and watching this closely. I rebooked an excursion at St. Kitts so curious where we'll end up now. Praying for all those on the affected islands.

  2. Does anyone have any recommendations on a nice catamaran sail, snorkel and Nevis beach getaway from a local operator? None of Thermgood's (sorry if spelling his name wrong) looked like a fit for us. If not, I'll book the ones offered through RCCL. TIA!

Edited: We will be porting into Port Zante at Bassaterre and there are four in our family

  3. We are sailing on Harmony in September with our 13 and 8 yo. The 13 year old wants to do Rubicon so hoping they will make an age exception for him being only 11 months shy from their 14 year old minimum. I'll have to weight my daugther and see if she'll be able to do the zipline but I think she'll like the Kids club, merry go round, ice skating rink and hoping she likes the shows. I'm on the fence about getting them the soda package. They get free sodas in the MDR, right? And free ice cream around the pool deck, too, correct? So I'm thinking a soda and ice cream treat per day should be suffice. Can you confirm these two questions?

  4. The current age limit is 14 yrs. Does anyone know if they would make an exception to allow my 13 year old son participate in the escape room? We have done several together and he is better at them than I am! He also helped me design the one I put on for my work colleagues that was a huge success. I have signed my hubby and me up and then hoping to switch them out if you think they will make an exception being only months away and has experience.

(Unless you think there is inappropriate content of the room being the reason for the age limit)

  5. We're booked on Harmony 9/23 for family of four. We bike as a family and thought it would be fun to explore the island on our own if we could rent bicycles off the port. I saw there is an RCCL excursion but it says 10 years old minimum age and DD is 8 yo. We normally do 6 miles and that trip is 12 miles and you have to follow a tour group when we'd like to do our own thing.

Does anyone know if you can rent bikes in San Juan port?

If so, are there any neighborhoods that are not as safe we should be aware of and avoid?

    Thanks for any help!

  6. That is a good question and observation, hopefully someone on here knows the answer to...bumping up this post. I'm guessing you are right...it is used for storage, laundry or something like that which possibly could be noisier than normal neighbors.

I just booked 11204 on HOTS for Sep and it is on the bump out but slanted so I'm curious about the balcony view. Does anyone have a link to pictures of cabins/staterooms?

  7. I recently booked through a representative over the phone for RCCL upcoming cruise and she told me that is the benefit to booking air through them. If airline is delayed they will helicopter you onto the ship or get you to the next port somehow.

  8. Thanks for the information. Just did a search and I could stand to save $526 for our 4-person family (balcony room) traveling on Allure over Harmony.

Allure: Nassau, St Thomas and St Maarten for a total of $3716 (Sep 17th week)

Harmony: St Thomas, Puerto Rico and Labadee for a total of $4,242 (Sep 23rd week)

Since you've said the only real difference is the water/dry slides, not sure I want to pay an additional $526 for slides. That money could go toward an excursion instead.

  9. Which ship is the best for our family vacation with 13-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter? I know they would have a great time on any ship, but curious if there are opinions on slight preferences between these three. Planning on Aug/Sep timeframe (he will have just turned 13!).

I see Harmony has the water slides and zip line which I think he would love. Haven't researched the other ships yet. Also, want to do Eastern Caribbean ports.

Also, how late are the 13 yo allowed to stay up- any curfews? Anything else that would be helpful to know?
