You are obviously the kind of person who gets a great deal of pleasure misquoting others. If you are quoting as you have done using "" then you are supposed to use the actual words and not your own words. What you have actually done is quote yourself. What a numpty.

As a quote, it's a fail. But remove the "" and as a paraphrase, it's spot on.

A lot of informative responses, thanks. Some points were brought up that hadn't occurred to me, such as the possibility of an income tax. It sounds like once the questionable offers are weeded through there are still legitimate ones to be had. And that's good to know.

When I come across enter-to-win contests and sweepstakes, they trigger my 'what's the catch?' scepticism. I don't have any specific instance in mind - just thinking generally. Has anyone here won a cruise this way and, if so, how was the experience?
