  1. OP never asked specific questions . I see nothing wrong with providing the link with over 500 posts that may answer a ton more questions than the OP may have thought of.

My post was directed to Triptolemus but I thank you for taking time to involve yourself in this matter. You are very kind.:*. The specific questions by the way were:

What are the need to know items for this ship?

For example, Carnival has a Dr. Seuss breakfast. Does the Dawn have anything like this?

Are there any can't miss items on this ship? Any secret locations?

  2. .That has nothing to do with who gets their luggage tags mailed from NCL - you don't get those either.

Nobody mentioned anything about luggage tags being sent by NCL. I am saying it is easy enough to get your travel agent to send them to you. If you happen to book direct with NCL then that option is obviously not available.

  3. So how long would you say it took you? You went to the train station in Civit? ~Joyce

Joyce, got off the Epic at 6.00am, walked right through the port to the fort, and then straight to the railway station. I walked into the station at 6.40am and the 7.02am train was already there. An easy walk, even though it was still dark for about 20 minutes. The Epic had docked at 12 Bis (N).

  4. only if you are in a suite. all other guests need to print their own or have the porters tag their bags at the port.

Not factually correct. Always get our travel agent to post them to us. Never been near a suite and not likely to.We do not even have a printer

  5. Also, is it true you can't smoke on balconies on NCL ships? My partner and I vape so not the same as smoking and it seems a bit strict considering we can't do any damage or set fire to anything with e-cigarettes

Yes it is true. Using those e-cigarettes can be misconstrued as smoking an actual cigarette and hence the reason for the ban.

  6. Depending on the sunrise, you may be walking in the dark on an ugly road. While the walk is flat and paved, There is a seawall on the oceanside blocking your view and the roadway in the center with a narrow area to walk along the shipside. I don't think it's that safe in the dark.

    .

I did this same walk last September getting off the Epic at 6.00am. There was no problem and it was safe enough, even though it was still dark

  7. Are you in the UK and been offered an upsell or email regardingthe new Upgrade Advantage Programme ? No

Ifso who did you book through and did you pay for cruise in £?

Anyone know if the UK actually have an upsell dept and theirtelephone number please? No

How do I find out if I will receive an email invite as itsless than 90 days to be cruise, and I have paid in full, and would love toparticipate in the bidding system? No

  8. Thanks for the replies. We are on the 05/28 sailing...so no film festival for us [emoji17]. To blackburnrovers: what was the cost of the train? And where does it drop you off in Rome?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

Wednesday morning docked at 6.00am in Civitavecchia on pier 12 Bis(N) and I was first off the ship and decided to walk all the way tothe railway station and was on the train at 6.45am which was in thestation. There was no sign of any shuttle at that time in themorning. Off the train at Roma Ostiense and took the subway to Piramade forthe 2 stops to the Colosseum.

    Cost was €4.80 single

  9. The major cities like Rome are a fair distance from the ports (plan on long days). .

Not necessarily long days. I was off the Epic at Civativecchia at 6.00am, walked it to the railway station for the 7.02am train. Into Rome, walked across the city, taking in the sites, back on the train to Civitavecchia, walked it back to the ship and back on board at 1.00pm

  10. Sorry, but if the cruise lines don't object i don't think there is anything wrong with it. You can cancel and rebook anytime before the final payment.

As you are possibly aware, the cruise line rules and regulations differ depending on through which office you book through. If you decide to cancel a booking made through NCL UK, you lose your deposit. In my opinion, this is what should happen to ALL cruise cancellations, regardless of which site the booking was made.
