Tha k you all so much! We are planning on starting at the south end of Central Park, possibly doing a carriage ride. On this particular trip we’re going to stay around Central Park Grand Central Station and then head back to Newark Penn station. Thank you for the deli suggestions. We had thought about going to Katz’s but it’s pretty far away

Thanks! I read there's construction at/near the port and the bus has been diverted?

We haven’t much experience with public transportation so we need some help getting around.
1. This Wednesday, Oct 3 from Newark Penn Hilton to Central Park.
2. Awesome pastrami sandwich between arriving in The city and before Central Park 😊
3. We will end up at the 9/11 Memorial in the evening and need to get back to Newark Penn Hilton from there.
4. From the port in Boston on Saturday to State Street to pick up the Segway tour. I understand we need to take the Silver Line-is that across from the port? Do we need transfers to the Red Line?
Can we do the same itinerary back to port?
Thank you so much! Your advise is treasured!

That would be the Silver Line bus which stops at the terminal and takes you to South Station for a free transfer to the Red Line direction Alewife. You ride two stops to Park St for the Boston Common.
Thank you again! You are a traveler's lifeline!

Thank you, Carol. We are going to do the Hilton Newark Penn! We'll head up to Central Park first then back to the Memorial since we can see that at night as well.
I have another question for you - in 2010 you guided us to a bus from the port in Boston that took us to the train/subway and right to the square (foggy memory). Do you know if that's still the best way to get into town?
I remember the bus was going in the opposite direction when you boarded and then it made a U-turn at the next street to take you to the subway/train. Your guidance was right on target - so grateful.

We are sailing on Anthem Oct 4th, arriving EWR Oct 3rd at noon. We'd like to take a visit to Central Park and the World Trade Center Memorial (I know they are opposite ends of Manhattan-but accepting travel tips between the two).
Need advice on which hotel (IHG or HIlton points). Crowne Plaza? Hilton Newark Penn? or Embassy Suites?
Any of these works for us, our main concern is safety returning home at night from the city, and cost of transport to Cape Liberty. Thank you kindly!

Now, I am really confused. We haven't cruised in 5 years and just coming back to the boards. So, if I book for a October Canada/New England cruise now, can I get reduced rate if I see it drop? Is it only the first 48 hours??
And with few options for Fall Canada/New England cruises, do I dare wait?
-
We parked across the street and down a bit at Park4cruise. Locked lot. Very nice people. We didn't have to wait for drop off or pick up. Great service and half the price of cruise terminal. Would do it again-WILL do it again!

Many of the hotels offer shuttles to the port. Check the Sheraton River walk

Thanks! I'll check out Parking doctor. Sounds like a good prescription to saving the money. ( I just had to use it :))

Where will you be parking? We are leaving next week, thinking of Premier but open to suggestions.

Thank you everyone who replied! I don't expect there will be any advanced line dancing (I am really a beginner), but to be able to dance is wonderful in itself. Looking forward to it. Thanks again!

Thanks, JKrise, I'm new to line dancing and can't get enough. Don't remember ever seeing it in the Compass? Anyone know?

This makes me a bit nervous since we are booked for the first time on the Brilliance in April.... We know this is an older, smaller ship....and we are not to please so hopefully it will be okay.
It was a rather negative review in general. I wouldn't let one persons perspective taint your adventure. Look up some of the previous reviews on the Brilliance. Most are quite happy! We are cruising in January on the Brilliance and so looking forward to it!

We haven't cruised for 4 years, and I remember there was some line dancing offered on the pool deck. Can someone update me on what to expect on the Brilliance for line dancing?
New to NCL- Coupon question
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
We sailed our first NCL cruise in January and loved it. (We have cruised a lot on RCCL in the past). We purchased the CruiseNext and also received a $100 Welcome Back coupon.
We booked another cruise online for next March and used the CruiseNext for our deposit. We couldn't apply the coupon to the cruise payment for some unknown reason. Maybe it is for onboard credit? Confused.
The coupon disappeared a few minutes after speaking with the 3rd NCL rep. None of them knew what a Welcome BacK coupon was.
Has anyone used a Welcome Back coupon? Is it for onboard credit or can you apply it to your next cruise? So confused. Help!?
