We cruise out of New Orleans yearly and they have a line for cruisers who are there before their scheduled time. If the line of people going in on schedule dwindles they do let the early arrivals in, but it all depends on the lines. If you want to get on before your time make sure to find the line for early guests. They usually load earlier than your assigned time.

We just returned from a PC cruise and used Dora in Cartagena. She did our tour herself but had enough for 2 buses. There was a preplanned tour that included the fort, a church, an old city walking tour and Dora included lots of history and personal stories. There was time for shopping at a market. We enjoyed our tour and felt safe the entire time. There are many street vendors who you have to say no to. But they generally took no and left you alone. I highly recommend Dora.

We just got back and used resortforaday dot com. We went to Santa Barbara. It was very clean, friendly and had a nice pool area. Food is ordered and served poolside or at the beach. We had access to all the non-alcoholic drinks as well as those with alcohol. They have a non-alcoholic Oreo ice cream milkshake that was yummy. The transportation was a new bus with ac. Pickup was prompt and return back to the ship was in plenty of time.

Our group has used the Vic Bodden tour company for the past five years and have been very pleased with our tour and the bus. The AC was cold and the bus was clean. The driver was helpful and flexible. They showed up on time each year to pick us up. We were able to communicate with Mr. Bodden by email and received timely responses. I highly recommend them for tours on Roatan.

Speak to guest services after you board. There are customs documents to fill out before you get to the port and you need an itemized list of what you have. Custom fees depend on the country and how you value the items you are donating. You may be asked for the name and address of the place you are leaving the donations also.

We hiked in a rainforest on an excursion booked through Princess. It was about a 20 minute ride from the port.

We just cruised and layers are best. I am from Louisiana and fairly sensitive to cold. We used a thin raincoat/windbreaker along with a lighter weight jacket and layers of sweaters and turtlenecks. It was different every day and we removed layers as it warmed up during the day. On the Glacier Bay day I needed a hat, scarf and gloves. That was the coldest day on the boat and on land. If you are on Princess they have blankets to check out.

If you plan on doing a cruisetour, we booked a year in advance and some tours were full. We did a connoisseur land tour that was limited in space.

We just got back and used K2. They were very professional and it was first class from start to finish. It was the highlight of our 16-day cruisetour. Any specific question?

On a previous cruise when we went to the lounge to get our tender ticket, the boats leaving weren't full and we were allowed to get right on without a ticket. It's worth a try to check even if there are no tickets for that time.

I just checked and the Harbor House webcam is back in operation.

We live about 90 miles from the port so we drive in the day of. When flying from NO we stay at the Hilton across the street from the airport, but if you want to see the French Quarter it is quite a distance from the airport. As far as parking goes we park at the port in the Fulton garage. It connects to the cruise terminal and they unload your luggage for you where other garages require riding a shuttle carrying luggage or dropping off the luggage prior to parking.
If you let me know the area of town you want to stay I can possibly recommend a hotel.
