  1. We are currently on the Breakaway sailing from NYC to Florida ?Bahamas- staying in Haven Couryard Penthouse suite- Family of 3.

    1. We left late out of NYC7 pm and I pre booked dinner reservations so we pretty much missed the sights leaving (Lady Liberty and Verazano Bridge Manhattan Skyline). You can’t really get up from the Teppanyaki table in the middle of the “show”. Also lots of charges for drink taxes while in port 3 extra hours.

    2. Pre booked lots of entertainment for beginning of cruise- all cancelled and moved to the end of the week so we are now waiting and HOPING to finally have some fun end of the week.

    3. Arrived late to Port Canaveral. Our tour to KSC...arrived at 330pm...too late to do any bus tour to launch pad and final shows to many imax already over for the day so rocket garden and Atlantis exhibit were all my son (age 12). got to see...boring and pretty pricey for 2.5 hrs at $360. No real thing as priority embarkation with return to ship here...crazy numbers of people piling up at the end of a running escalator...dangerous really.

    4. GSC cancelled less than 1 hr before arrival-so bummed but could have predicted it based on other’s stories I read pre- cruise....$24 credit per person ...not really making me feel any better.

    5. Discover Scuba now cancelled for tomorrow ....weather though it is typical island weather. NOW WHAT...we tried to book a Segway tour at Blue Lagoon and that too is cancelled...

    6. Paid for unlimited WiFi- works occasionally definitely not worth $179.

    7. I concierge- $9.99 x 3 people- yes even if you have unlimited package you still need to pay this fee.

    8. Spa- paid for thermal suite- great if you go very off times like 8 pm...try showing up middle of the day heated tile loungers you have to wait like a vulture to get one when someone gets up.

    9. Pools in Haven and in Thermal spa cooler than you’d like really ok for kids but grown ups like it warmer.

Not sure how the rest of this will pan out but for sure this will be my first and last NCL cruise....spent a lot of cash to sit around and eat and drink....

Oh by the way did I warn you that Shanghai Noodle Bar reeks of smoke from the casino...actually a lot OT things in the vicinity of the casino are not tolerable if you are a non smoker. And the best view lounger on the haven private deck are in the “smoking area” ruining it for anyone else who would rather not inhale second hand smoke blown back by the breeze!!!!

    Calgon....take me away!!!

  2. I received my upgrade email today’s are in Haven Courtyard Penthouse with 3 guests. Breakaway 3/4/18.......... I was soooooo excited! Then I went to bid. Minimum bid for 2 bedroom and owners suite are $500. Deluxe Owners $750 pp for min bid. Based on what I have already paid I was hoping for and would bid lower. But looks like that’s not an option. Would it ever be possible to get another email with lower minimum bid if others don’t bid higher than our current rate? I really want that deluxe owners suite!

  3. We are traveling in March with 12 y/o boy to Bahamas, staying in the Haven with 3 night SDP. I want to maximize the week and wonder which nights are best at which shows and restaurants. I have questions and not sure if I really need to pre book or is that one of the Haven benefits...Here are some questions?

    1. Can we use SDP for Cirque?

    2. What night for Cirque?

    3. What night for Rock of Ages?

    4. What night for Burn the Floor?

I know we want to do teppanyaki (son love hibachi) I also think we want to go to Ocean Blue (we love seafood). But beyond that no must haves. I also know the food in the Haven restaurant is supposed to be good but the menu is the same all week...

    5. Can we really eat inn Haven and request something off the menu being served in one of the MDR's each night....how will I know what they are serving?

I also don't really understand how the a la Carter pricing works with the SDP. WE LOVE SUSHI ...CHINESE.

Will there be decent sushi on a buffet ....say for lunch any day in Garden Cafe?

We already paid so much for Haven I really want to take advantage of the restaurant perk but already feel like I will be ";going elsewhere" most nights.

Help me plan the week and lay it all out loosely before the 90 day mark....I am flexible nothing set in stone...I just like having a plan to start out with.

Also any advice on excursions. Was thinking Kennedy Space Center, beaching in at GSC, then SNUBA or SUBs at Stuart's COBE in Nassau....thoughts? Pre book? Thorough NCL or on my own?

    Thanks for feedback.

  4. My husband and I are traveling in March with our 12-year-old son… I could use some help planning out our week! We are staying in Haven and we have the SDP(3 nights). I am trying to coordinate which nights we should eat where and which nights we should see which shows...I just don't have enough info. Here are a few specific questions, then I'm open to feedback! Can I use SDP for Cirque? I know my son wants Teppanyaki...Ocean blue sounds good but not sure what others think is best.

Do I need to make reservations ahead or is that one of the benefits of staying in the Haven?

  5. First cruise… Reading posts and dailies that show temperatures are quite low throughout this itinerary in MARCH… Do you think it will be warm enough to sit on the decks and use the Waterslides? If not, what is the best month to travel from New York to the Caribbean on a cruise?

I really want to enjoy a great stirrup Cay and don't want to miss it...

We are staying in the Haven.
