We loved Ricardo Riley with Liberty Tours.  One of the best excursions we've ever done.   So friendly and easy to communicate with.  We found him thru Trip Advisor.   Felt safe all day and my entire family had a wonderful time.   Libertytoursjamaica.com.  Hope you guys have fun!

    Thank you!!!!

  2. That’s what I’m looking at now but that’s what I was thinking

I am confused on Colosseum tickets. I believe I am on the official Colosseum website (coopculture.it) - they offer open tickets (good for 2 consecutive days from now until the end of the year). They also offer scheduled time and date tickets (also good for 2 days but entrance to Colosseum at a scheduled time.). They are the same price. I don't understand the benefit of having a scheduled time. I assume both tickets allow you to skip the ticket buying line, and neither allow you to skip security. Do they stop admissions when the Colosseum reaches capacity, and so an open ticket you would wait but a scheduled time you would still get in?

    thanks.

  3. Thank you! I got one off our roll call for France but not the rest but I’ll try that website, thanks

What's your sailing? I would check the Roll Call for your sailing and see if anybody has two spots left on any of their pre-arranged tours. You could also try italytoursharing.com (or similar). Although spots will probably be very limited if you're leaving next week. I'd recommend grabbing Rick Steves' guide to Mediterranean cruise ports and finding out how to DIY as a backup.
  4. Just basic... we get in very late Friday

Depends on what you want to spend and what you expect from the hotel and room. Hotel Leonardo Las rambles if modern and has quality rooms and a very good breakfast. 5 mins walk from Las rambles so slightly quieter. All rooms sound proofed . But if you want to be right on Las rambles and don' mind basic I also have experience of some others . Let me know what you want
  5. Thank you! That’s what I need!!!

If you look down the board, there are dozens of threads on using private tours, and many vendors recommended. We like Rome in Limo, a wonderful, professional operation that has a big thread just down the board.

One of the benefits of using some vendors (like Rome in Limo) is you will get a discount if you book multiple tours with them. Rome in Limo operates in all 3 ports you mention, so you are dealing with just one contact (the famous Jany you will read about), and taking care of all your needs.

  6. its just me and my 14 year old son. I’ve done 14 Caribbean cruises and always do private excursions. Was going to do Carnival excursions for our first European cruise (I know, the costs are crazy) because I was a bit fearful but looking to maybe just do it, private tour companies. Looking to do leaning tower of Pisa, Vatican and coliseum in Rome and Pompeii when in Naples. Please put my mind at ease!!

  7. Kids are 19/14... There is no way I will ever drink $50 a day :/ so booking each of us with a kid might be the best option and then switching rooms once on board. Hubby would get confused with the keys!!!! Thanks everyone! I can't believe I get to go to Europe!!!!

  8. Thanks! Another ? I only drink like 1/2 drinks a day bc we have free drinks card in casino (free cruise from casino)... if I buy the cheers package for hubby on his room(paying for everything before cruise) if we switch keys will I be forced to buy the cheers package since it says both adults in room must have it?

Just go to guest services when you board and have your keys and they will redo them for you no issues. We do this when we cruise with our elderly parents to assure they can get priority boarding with us. Just let them know which two are swapping rooms.

Balcony doors will be hit or miss. Some do, some don't. Most part the answer is most often no as opening door will actually cover the room entry door.

  9. theres 4 of us sailing on Horizon out of Barcelona (me, hubby and my 2 kids). My daughter is only 19 so can't book her in her own room. I was going to put hubby and 1 kid in one room and me and other kid in the other room. Haven't decided to do balcony/inside across the hall or 2 connecting balconies (if they are connecting rooms, can the balcony open to be one huge one?) price difference is only $1000 more. Can we do a room/key swap once onboard since kids will have one room, us the other
