There really are not any bar lines enough to offset the hassle of bringing your own soda onboard.

I am not sure its a hassle 🙂 I decided not to get a drinks package for my 12 cruise to Scandinavia as they wanted about $1900 for 2 people. Went with the pay as you go method so maybe bringing a 12 pack of coke I will see if its a hassle 🙂

  3. I am not happy about this because I do like to order Bacon and eggs and eat on the balcony 🙂 when I booked the cruise it was free but know they added the charge. I think its a bit steep to be honest considering they will bring you pastry and coffee for free in the morning just slide on some bacon 🙂 lol

What 'savings' do you expect on gratuities?? You expect they should stiff the crew so you can save a few dollars??

Are you going to save a bundle on your CC interest or what? (assuming you maintain a balance on your CC)

I guess if you're living paycheck to paycheck, it matters. Then the decision would be a no-brainer...

wow FYI i have zero balance on any credit card. I was just commenting that there is zero reason to pay it in advance, And I am not living pay check to pay check but thanks for being concerned 🙂

  5. I don't understand the point of pre paid .

    Example

if I pre - pay on the website for my 12 day cruise they say its $420 for 2

if I don't pre - pay and let them charge me $17.50 per person its still $420

there is no savings ? so why give them your money months before you leave ?

I know all including is different so i am not comparing that

Just off the Edge. Morning continental breakfast is included but if you order eggs, bacon, sausage or anything hot it is $9.95 per cabin. Lunch, dinner or anything else is also $9.95 plus 20% gratuity.

Hope it was really hot as on the Beyond in a suite all the hot food was not that hot .. maybe with less people ordering it will be hot .. bit for 10 dollars I will walk buffet 🙂

  7. I got a 12 day Scandinavian trip in May for just port fees and taxes. its a Balcony room. I did not get free drinks and I noticed on there blue chip page that if you have 100,000 points you get Classic free . I only have 39,000 points and drinks where not included. So perhaps your offers depend on your status. It does say i get 100 free play and digital picture package. It was offered to me as I was 3 days into a transatlantic crossing on the Beyond.

Didn't I already answer that question?  Yes there are USB ports but only on one side of the bed and also on the dressing table but you have to run a long cord across the room and have the room steward tape it down for you so nobody trips over it.

there is one in the back of the phone on the edge class

The last time I called I was advised that the wait time was 60-90 minutes, so I opted for the call back. Unfortunately I was at the vet’s office when the call back came, so I had to repeat. I was advised of a 90-120 minute wait time, so again opted for the call back. All to upgrade drink packages. WHY can’t this be done online? They know my booking details and captain’s club level when I log in.

I did not get the call back option and yes why cant we do it online its silly you have to talk to a person .

Just managed to access it. The cost of our 2024 Australia and New Zealand cruise has dropped by about £600. I don’t suppose they’ll reprice it but will be worth cancelling and rebooking as our deposit was £300. Will try to get through on the phone tomorrow.

I don't have the link with me but when my cruise went down I filled in a form sent it in they said yes it was now cheaper and they knocked $700 off my bill

  11. I had no problems on an IV cabin on the APEX in the Greek islands it was great . I would lean out of them get the fresh air. feel the breeze and hear the ocean at night with the Window open. the room was so much bigger of useful space. I been on balconies where you have a deck above walls on either side. and a glass door behind you .. and a glass wall to lean over .. when you measure the actual open space between the walls above and the side its not that different . 🙂 but if you dont like them there are lots of other ships to go on .. Each to there own

People on my October cruise are beginning to get noticed of winning bids in the last few days. I’ve been compulsively checking my email but so far no luck. The only time I have ever received any form of communication from the Move Up program have been during business hours Monday through Friday. Has anyone ever received a winning bid notice on the weekend? Should I keep my compulsion in check until Monday? ( probably should do that anyway lol.)

I got a winning bid on the Beyond Transatlantic leaving from Barcelona . from IV to Sky suite can in last Wednesday

Soverign governements control who enters their courntry and territorial waters. Bermuda has the right to decide and set requirements just like the United States has requirements and controls who can enter the US. None can embark on a ship or airline to the US who does not meet US requirements. The US requirement includes a travel authorization. Some countries only require passports. Others also require visas. Some have an electronic travel authorization document. The airlines or cruise lines won't let you board without the required documents. It is not about you. If you can't understand that then perhaps you should not travel internationally.

they do have the right to control who comes into there country and they have made it that you must have a mandatory test if your on a cruise that is 4 days or longer 2 days before you get there .. what is a problem that on some transatlantic crossings and one that I am on the because of Bermuda we have to take a pay for a test 12 days before we reach the island. That's right 12 days.  That is a meaning less test as well as that making all 3,000 people on the ship pay $44 even if they decide not to get off the ship. while making everyone on the ship take a covid test 2 days before the ship gets there .. once again even if you don't get off

they could make it simple .. if you want to get off pay the 44 dollars and take the test 2 days before you get there ? what's wrong with that . ?

  14. Bermuda - Keep your $40 fee, Keep your 2 day Covid test . but drop the Covid test for boarding for ships that leave longer than 4 days before arriving. I see no reason why a Transatlantic passenger leaving Barcelona has to test about 12 days before arriving in Bermuda ?

To be blunt, it doesn't matter one iota whether you or anyone else understands why. Every country has the right to make its own rules and they don't owe an explanation to anyone.

But if you want an explanation, I'll make an educated guess. It's likely they want the minimize the chances of someone boarding a ship bound for Bermuda having a COVID infection and thereby minimize the potential spread of infection that might  be present but not yet detectable at the time of the test taken two days out. That way it theoretically reduces the chances of someone having an undetected infection going ashore in Bermuda and infecting Bermudians. So, they're saying the pre-boarding test does have a use. It's their opinion and I'm not arguing whether it's right or wrong, just explaining what it is.

it would be 10 days before we get to Bermuda on the TA 8 days from Barcelona when we have to take the second test.. it would be like them asking you to take a test 8 days before a 7 day cruise to Bermuda from the east coast where you arrive at 2 days into the cruise. I am ok doing the self test i just don't see why we cant take a self test like all the other ships that don't go to Bermuda. 🙂
