  1. I want to use my Carnival Mastercard points to purchase Cruise Cash Bar for the Cheers program. My questions is, can I apply the Cruise Cash Bar to my account prior to sailing, and then use the certificate to purchase the Cheers program online through the Carnival website?

(Also, purchasing just Cruise Cash is not an option, because I don't have enough points to meet the Cruise Cash minimum purchase)

  2. It has always been this way. My TA will tell me the price for the 3nd and 4th but all you do is take the total cost and dived it by 4.

I've booked many cruises on Carnival and have never seen this. I don't use a TA, I use the internet, so I can actually "see" the prices for 3/4 passenger when I do a booking. Again, this is the first time I've had 2 different prices show up.

  3. I was checking out the price of a cruise in April on the Carnival website yesterday and saw that the prices for a 3rd passenger and 4th passenger were different. The 3rd passenger was $399, the 4th passenger was $199. We just got off the Fascination and when I booked in August both the 3rd and 4th passengers had the same rate.

    What gives?

  4. My 5 year old nephew had his small wooden sword confiscated when we got back on the ship in Nassau last week. He cried and cried. :( We got it back on the last night.

Seems inconsistent that they would take a sword from a 5 year old, but allow swords to enter the ship in luggage and not take them away from grown passengers. I would think that if they saw you with a sword, they should confiscate it and give it back to you on the last night...but I seriously doubt that this would happen.

  5. I'm not a vegetarian but almost always order veggie options in the MDR. The Indian food is amazing...I've been looking forward to it for months now! It's very authentic and usually very spicy. If you're more used to "food court" Indian food, you probably won't enjoy it but if you like the real thing, you're in for a treat!

  6. I also want to thank everyone for the well-wishes and information about insurance. When we bought the insurance I really had no idea about all the limitations that it had. We originally were looking at a cruise leaving on Saturday, and if we had won the game I wouldn't have been covered when we cancelled because of the 48 hour clause. I didn't know that until all these great CCer's made me aware.

    Thanks y'all!!!

  7. We are going on our cruise!!!! Unfortunately, the team lost their playoff game on Friday night and we did not have to use our insurance.

Since we didn't want to jinx their game mojo, we didn't prepare for the cruise at all prior to the game. We didn't buy anything for the cruise, didn't take a suitcase out of the attic, didn't put anything aside to pack, etc. So now that they lost, I've been doing "panic packing" since yesterday morning and hope to have everything ready to leave in less than 24 hours.

I have so much to do, and need to get off the computer to get it done!:)

  8. Yes, read your policy carefully and double check the trip start date on your policy. If you're flying a day early and that is the start date you gave the insurance company, then you need to calculate from that date.

Also pay attention to the terms of your policy ... 2 days is different than 48 hours in CFAR wording. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I looked up the policy and it says 48 hours from departure. Since we're driving, I think we should be covered since departure is 4:00 on Monday. USAA has a 27/7 customer service, so if we win on Friday, I will be on the phone with USAA on the way home.

DW and I will definitely root for your Beaufort Eagles as Beaufort, SC brings back many special memories for us...we got married at the Cuthbert House on Bay St. June, 2007...and, we go back at least twice a year to celebrate our anniversary in June (at the Cuthbert House), and April when we got engaged...again we will definitely be rooting for you guys

It's a beautiful place, that's for sure. Thanks for the well wishes!

  9. Wow this is too funny. I have a cousin that plays football for the North Augusta Yellow Jackets and his dad was telling me how well he played in their playoff game against Laurens. Now I find your post and wow...weird. I've seen my cousin play and I wish you a safe and happy cruise because you'll be going in 8 days.:D Gooooo yellow Jackets.

Small world... I'm a former NA Yellow Jacket! ;) GO NAHS!

Wow, it's a small world after all! Yes, we're headed to North Augusta on Friday night. Hope to bring home the W. My boys both start on the O-line, what position and number is your cousin? I can have my boys say "hello!"

  10. My son is also in State football playoffs. I knew from previous years that it was a very real possibility their team would be headed that way. That's why I booked after football season but before baseball season begins!

I just keep telling myself they will be gone in 5 more years and then I can plan a vacation any ole time I want!

    Good luck to your boys.

We are a 3 season household. Football, wrestling and baseball. We never get a break, but I love it. My oldest is going to college next year and his brother follows the year after. My life is going to be so boring.

  11. Good luck to the boys

But,,, don't you have to cancel within 48 hours of beginning of your trip to use this?

    Thanks for the head's up!

If we win Friday night, I will be calling the insurance company right away. We sail on Monday, so it would be within 48 hours.

We got insurance with USAA, not Carnival. I should probably read the policy closely.

  12. "Our next stop was to be Jetway Parking. Way back at the beginning of our cruise planning we wanted to use the $8.00 lot that was right outside of the port area. Well, it appears that they got shut down due to some fraud issues so I went in search of finding a reputable place to leave my brand new car for 5 days. I read about Jetway Parking here on the CC boards and checked out some reviews and decided that they would be who I would use. They advertise $4.99 a day parking with a round trip shuttle fee of $10.00. They offer 24/7 surveillance on site so I was sold. We ended up getting a group rate however, which cut the cost by about $5.00. CHA-CHING."

Can you answer a few questions about this parking lot?

    1. Was it $10 per person for the shuttle to the port?

    2. How many people earned you a "group" discount? We have a group of 9 going with us.

    3. What time did you get to the parking lot, and what time did you get to the port?

    Thanks!

  13. My family has found ourselves in an interesting situation. We are booked on the Fascination leaving in 8 days but...if my sons win their football playoff game this coming Friday, we won't be boarding the Fascination! I'm sooooo excited that my boys are heading into the second round of the state playoffs, but also kinda bummed that we might not be joining my extended family on the cruise.

I figure it's a win-win situation...if they win, they are one game closer to the championship, and if they lose we get to go on a cruise! And the good news is that when we booked, we purchased "cancel for any reason" insurance for this exact reason.

    Go Beaufort Eagles!
