    Long may that continue !

Booked on December sailing, 11days, very rare for Galveston. It'll also be our first corner-aft 🙂

You’re gonna be sooooo hooked!  We typically book our cruises based on availability of corner-aft Cabins. Specifically deck 7 on Voyager and Freedom class. As this is our first on Jewel we went with a center hump.

Do you have a updated list? I was told it's the week of 2/14 that is cancelled when they switch the ships.

I havent gotten any email just reading and elsewhere says the 2nd leg of my b2b cancelled.

Not real happy with rcl right now. I considered it a downgrade to move from allure b2b march 2022 to liberty with no compensation. Now not even 2 weeks later my other b2b is hit.... everything I've read says 2/14 cancelled. I'm sure my ta is thrilled with yet another change.

Would be nice to get a email from rcl if I'm affected. I only have 5 booked, and this is 4 weeks affected in about 2 weeks.

I tried to post the link to the blog but looks like it wasn’t allowed. I agree that you should have gotten an email. I actually read it in RCCL  blog. Our TA double checked and the 2/7-14 sailing is the last for Jewel.

  3. Just booked ours for Thanksgiving week.

The poster who said wanna get away fares are nonexistent that week was right on. We got good fares into FLL. No such luck on the return flight. But it’s ok. It’s the only time our granddaughter can make it.

  4. We were on the Vista her first summer in Europe. We had three balconies deck 8 aft. The three in the middle. You get more inside room space with the cabins in the middle. It's not much but does make some difference. You can tell by the space between the couch and bed. We had a couple feet extra.

I always avoid the deck below lido on most ships. Unless it’s under the beauty salon, gym, or something closed at night.

On the Vista class there is a large overhang on deck 9 aft balconies. It’s like the Dream class. If you like shade this would be perfect. I personally don’t like the closed in feeling and sound does echo off the steel. We had a really loud lady the entire ten-day cruise on the Vista and we knew everything she said.

It is important to know these aft balconies on any ship are very limited and in their own category(s). If prices come down I’ve found it’s unlikely these aft balconies decrease much if at all. Whereas regular balconies will have greater discounts if prices comedown.

I love aft balconies and the L shaped balcony cabins that wrap around the aft staircases. On some ships they’re only an 8A which is the lead in price for a balcony. We had one of these L shaped cabins on a 12-day Breeze Europe cruise. They have since increased the category (price) on some ships. Good luck!

Thank you so much. Really appreciate your feedback. The overhang won’t bother us. We just prefer not to be directly under a noisy pool deck. We usually book aft corners on RCCL. Would love the L shaped balcony. This is our first time back on Carnival in several years. The cabin we are looking at is on the end next door to the corner.

  5. Thinking of booking Vista when she goes to Galveston. Looking at a deck 9 aft facing balcony. Looking at the deck plans on the booking page and looks like it’s under the pool deck? Any input on noise? Also, considering the two category past guest upgrade. Should we book the aft facing balcony, where would the upgrade put our cabin?

    Thanks for your help :)

  6. So I did t fly here but one day onboard and feet and ankles swollen so bad all week. I never use extra Salt but did enjoy lots of painkillers ( the drink). Anyone know why?

My guess would be the painkillers. lol. Alcohol tends to have the same effect as salt. At least for me. I seem to always experience some degree of swelling no matter what I do/don't do. I swear, my body sucks up the sea air like a sponge. :o
