  1. Definitely the Dr. Poole excursion! Also if you want to buy some pearls, Ron Hall donates 10% of his profits to Dr. Poole's research and has a lot less overhead than most others due to not having fancy stores and a lot of employees. I bought a strand of pearls from him and they appraised for over 400% of what we paid for them by two different GIA appriasers. (The amount was so disparate that I got a second opinion. Neither knew the purchase price prior to the appraisal)

    Is Ron Hall on Moorea?

  2. Are we confusing two Patrick's? There is Patrick of Patrick's Aventures in Pape'ete,Tahiti, and there is also a Patrick of Maohi Nui in Bora Bora ( who has a daughter named Vaitiare who handles the bookings). It is confusing, as the Maohi Nui tour is often referred to as "Patrick's Tour", but as far as I know, these Patrick's are two different people on two different islands.

That explains things. I got ahold of the one on Tahiti. Thanks

  3. Thank you for the encouraging responses.I won't be packing wine glasses.

Cruisedreamer, I sailed with Princess last September to Alaska. I eventually found decent stem ware in their Crown Grill specialty restaurant. I was heading out the door with the glass unfinished, when out of nowhere the ships chief maitre'd snatched it out of my hand. 😀

When are you cruising on Windstar and where? You won't be treated like that.

  4. Hate to start a new thread for such a minor enquiry, so will ask in here.

I recently travelled with Princess Cruises, had a fine time but their red wine glasses were something you might be offered at Denny's. Will I have to bring my own wine glasses on my upcoming Windstar cruise, or do they take wine drinking seriously and provide decent stemware?

We found the wine glasses to be the appropriate size for their white wine glasses and their red wine. They don't skimp at all. They like to keep you happy. They are also quick to learn your preferences and are great at pairing for dinners
