  1. Was on Harmony for the TransAtlantic in October. We went to Sabor for a margarita. The server brought them, and a few minutes later asked how they were. Told here they were a little bland, so she asked if we wanted a shot of tequila to add. Our response - Sure! So she brought shots of Patron to add. The drink was much better then. And, all included with the package.

    Good to know! ;p

  2. When I was on Harmony, I had the deluxe drink package. On our last day at sea, there was bartender at a table that was serving drinks in pineapples. The drinks were $12. Which was great because the package covers $12 drinks. However, I was then told the pineapple would be $5 extra for me. But for people without the package, the drink including the pineapple was only $12!

So basically with the drink package you get penalized an extra $5 (plus gratuity), making it a more than $17 drink.

    Makes no sense to me...

I agree, that makes no sense... We already paid a lot for the drink package itself and then to up-charge certain drinks that actually do fit into the "per drink" price allowance? I get that "souvenir" containers aren't included but it's not like anyone is going to actually bring home a carved out pineapple to drink out of again... Oh well I guess.

  3. My boyfriend and I are leaving in a week on Oasis, and we both have the Deluxe drink package. Does anyone know what would be excluded in this package? Certain top shelf liquors? Also, can you use the package anywhere, for example at Sabor for a margarita? When they have the drinks served in pineapples on the pool decks, will the drink package cover that?

    Thanks :)

  4. Do I have to pick just one? How about three:

The margaritas at Sabor are fantastic.

The shanghai smash is a nice cocktail - scotch and some other goodies, I forget. Usually my rising tide drink.

Boleros caipirinha is always a winner as well.

Hard to pick just one, particularly with the drink package!

If you have the drink package, can you get a margarita from Sabor anytime or do you have to pay their cover? Can't remember if they had a bar area or not. Do they use the standard Island Oasis marg mix or will they actually do fresh squeezed lime with simple syrup or agave nectar? I'm not a fan of the pre-made marg mixes;p

  5. We spend a LOT of time on Orient.

Hundreds of hours, perhaps near 1,000.

The ONLY legal clothing optional beach on the island is the southern stretch of Orient in front of Club Orient.

Topless is legal anywhere on the French side.

You may see some topless there, but our favorite for price/quality is Orange Fever.

What would you be shopping for?

Gary, what beach would you recommend in St. Maarten/Martin? We are looking for beautiful clear swimmable water/nice sand, not crowded, and safe. Chairs/tents and food options are not a big deal to us. We see a lot of people recommending Orient but we're worried about the crowds.

  6. Hey guys! Curious to see if anyone has an opinion on whether it would be feasible to fit in both kayaking to Pinel Island and Orient Bay since they are relatively close in location? We are in port from 8-5. Would plan on renting kayak from Caribbean Paddling which is located in Cul de Sac. Could we spend the morning kayaking/on Pinel Island, return around lunchtime to Cul de Sac and taxi to Orient for a couple hours before returning to the ship?

Also, does anyone know the transportation situation at Cul de Sac? Are taxis easy to come by?
