Thank you for your response. Also like i said i am 49 points short of 2500 prime. when i get on the ship feb 7th it will show my 2449 points and i will accumulate the 49 in the first hour I'm sure lol. then i will become prime at that time and will receive the drinks in the casino . is that correct

the machines will not show your previous points- you will start at 0 on the machines for the cruise. those points are still there, hey just wont show on the display

    Just a few questions:

    1.  Can you purchase a drink package while on the ship?

    2.  What is the average charge for an alcoholic beverage.. i.e. beer, Martini, etc.?  If anyone has a list of these, it would be appreciated.

    3.  The All inclusive Dinner package they offer for $95.:  does it included all the restaurants and eating establishments on the ship?

    4.  Can you still take a bottle of wine per person in your carryon?

    5.  Since the re-fitting of this ship, do the showers have a door?

    Any help would be appreciated.....

    1. yes, more expensive

    2. $12-$13 for mixed 8 for beer

    3. pretty much

    4 yes

    5 unlikely

I understand what everyone is saying, but it's still a joke. What dates do you expect parents to actually use? It's a marketing gimmick to get people on the website. I'm not saying it's wrong, but it's a joke.

I just thought I'd share the laugh with everyone else.

why on earth would they offer KSF for dates that they have no problems filling berths with kids?

it would make 0 business sense to offer KSF during school breaks-

lets say you own a bar that is packed to the gills Friday and Saturday but very slow on Sunday and Monday.

what nights would you offer discounted drinks?

I just checked 2 different "cruise ship calendars", and they are still showing my ship (Symphony) as the only ship there that day.  But the calendars might not be updated yet, I suppose.

well of course the other option is that an area that had (or is about to get) beach beds is under construction and will not be available for the day you are there.

would you rather have it canceled or lay next to(or inside of) a construction site all day?

Secondly, was going to take over the door shoe hanger but have read that these have to be fire proof? Thirdly, Adaptors with USB, is there any specific kind?

We got strong magnetic hooks from amazon and hang our shoe organizer from them somewhere more convenient then one of the doors. never heard of the fireproof claim and have never had a problem.

For USB we use a 6 port 60W "brick"  keep in mind most of theses chargers are dual voltage so with the right cord or adaptor you can plug them into the Euro outlet and keep the US outlets free for other stuff. just make sure if using an adaptor to not plug a 110v only device into the euro outlet or you will let the magic smoke out.

One thing that Princess will let you do is that if I bring a Yeti, etc, they'll fill that up if I want (on DCL, I just use the paper cups and transfer to my Yeti 🙂 )

I fill my yeti form the freestyle machines all the time.

it just take a little preplanning and well placed stomp on the provided cup

Cruise critic should not be happy with his attitude and comments about Galveston in the past . Cruise Critic is in business to sell cruises .

Galveston has made great progress with improvements . Many more are coming .

    not enough,

Galeveston, is still a PITA to sail out of.

Is membership into the Casino program automatic?  In other words, if I use my seapass for points, how are they recorded and accumulated on future cruises?  I got nearly 1200 points on the Presidents cruise, and hoping to add to it.

yes. although the points from the last cruise will not show up on the machines display on the next cruise.

you can ask casino host for your total for the year and work from there.

don't forget that those points also have a small cash value that can be used for free play, I believe its $20.00 per 1000 points.

once "cashed" in the points will no longer show on the machine but will still be on your account for tier status.

I always use them once I a ready to head up on the last night.

Safe to say that 95% of people spending 50.00/day in the casino will never reach prime or get free cruise offers if cruising 2-3 times/year.  That 50.00 is usually gone fast and not many points accumulated.  Unless they win constantly, which does not happen.  Most people who are losing too much in casinos lie about how much they're playing and losing.  They also lie about how much they're winning......

mathematically I figure it takes ~2300 to earn prime assuming a 20% house advantage on slots.

this doesn't include good or bad luck, just what it would take losing 20% of every dollar you bet and re-betting the .80 you got back.

my experience seem to indicate that slots on RCCL are closer to 10% house advantage as I have earned prime now twice for considerably less then theory suggests but then again my friends didn't earn nearly the points they should have(mathematically) for the dollars spent on the last cruise.

so if she cruises 50 days a year she would hit it no problem

Smart marketing by the folks in the casino.  With all the terms and conditions attached to the certificates the only way they have value is if they are applied to a new cruise that is most likely close to the sailing date.  They want this to be an extra spur of the moment cruise and not a discount off an already planned trip.  It’s really an enticement to get you to spend extra money rather than a reward for your play.

none of this statement is true in my experience.

the yearly tier certificate can be used for any sailing of 8 nights or less so long as its not over a holiday.

last years tier certificate saved me over $2200 dollars on a 8 night cruise that was booked well over a year in advance, and was booked before the certificate was issued.

In fact I got ~$400 dollars refunded from my deposit as the total fare per person was roughly half of the $250 PP deposit.

then there are also the monthly offers that I receive, and while those are generally a little closer to sail date  the seem to be roughly 4-5 months out at the far end.

all I know is with the 2 free crusies I have already taken plus the 8 night I have coming in February I have saved more in cruise fare/drinks then I have spent earning prime in the casino.

And I still have another prime tier certificate to use this coming April. even if I don't spend anothr dime in the casino in Feb.

IF you're going to cruise and you're going to gamble its certainly worth it, I wouldn't gamble just to earn prime, but I would be spending the money in any case. might as well at least get the cruise for free.

to my better knowledge unless its changed recently, your sea pass card doesn't have your DOB on it.. that being said 16 or 18 years old they really they wouldn't be able to tell by just looking at them so the likelihood of them even attempting to ID seems unlikely to me. i feel if everyone is acting appropriate i don't think any crew or guest would say anything

Under 18 Seapass cards have a "M" on them-

so realistically this would make it easier to ID for admittance as 16 year olds would have the "M"

If your not playing slots, I found Craps much better to rack up points than Roulette or Table games. On a good night, you can play for hours without losing your shirt and rack up points. Besides, time flies when have a good game and alcohol.

this is not true in my experience, it has cost me far more per point on craps then on the slots.

craps has the lowest expected house advantage of anything in the casino and therefore the lowest comps., in fact none of your odds bets counts towards comps at all since there is 0 house advantage on the bet.

i played craps for several hours one night and ended up getting something like 25 points, I ended the session down $300.

that same $300 even if I lost on every single spin would have earned a minimum of 60 in a slot machine
