It may just be me, but, I find the tubs tricky to get out of.  The bottom of the tub is not level with the floor, and there's a noticeable difference when you are stepping out.  Not a huge deal, but, need to pay attention.

Ironically we had a JS on  the Allure 2 weeks ago and I fell in the tub on the 5th day.  Grab bars are poorly located as at 6'2" when I started to fall there was no bar to grab ahold of in the upper part of the shower.  Back was/is badly bruised and I was very limited for the last few days of my cruise.  No bath mat also didn't help my dilemma as bottom of the tubs are very slippery.  Filed injury report with guest services and they were very responsive.  Bath mat was in the shower that day.  They also checked daily to see how I was doing.  The anticipated visit to CoCay was scratched as it would have been too much to tolerate.  Be careful in those tubs!!!!!

And the fact they will have to be trained, not only in their jobs but in implementing new procedures for dealing with the Virus.

Which by the way, RCI has not said a word as to what they are going to do.

Airlines, Disney and others are announcing what measures are going to be taken....

RCI gives the impression they're in no hurry. People with reservations and those looking to book do not have a clue.
I have flight reservations for Jan. and had to go and select new seat assignments, and choose a new departure time because they went with a larger plane, allowing more empty seats, spacing between passengers. Every other seat.
We are also going to Disney in Orlando, and I have been getting e-mail news updates on the progress to open.

I have reservation with RCI....and being told nothing.  They act like there's plenty of time.

Hey B-52, I'm from Wall also.  Graduated in 1964 and lived there for 50 years.  Taxes drove us out and now live in The Villages Florida.

I have purchased the UDP for the first time and understand I have to wait until I board to make reservations. Can anyone tell me the best place to head when getting on board to take care of this quickly? Or is there a table in the terminal before boarding where you can reserve dining times for the UDP?

    TIA!!!

For us naïve one's out there...….what is UDP?

I like the new look too, just hope the chairs are comfortable.  The old furniture was always too deep for me to sit comfortably.

Often wondered what the thought process was on cruise ships that deal with an older clientele yet don't offer the raised seating options at various venues and in the cabins instead of making us struggle to get in and out of the chairs?  My make believe hips talk to me after one of those adventures.

We're not gamblers either, but if we have non-refundable OBC and can't find anything else to spend it on, I may consider it. It sounds like it's relatively easy to get most of it back in cash by playing roulette, too.

We just got off the Allure last month and we had $900 in OBC.  We went to the casino every night and played Blackjack each night with a 5% vig added to our $100 each cash out.  Very easy to use and we ended up playing 5 nights and taking another $150 in winnings plus our $900 home with us...…..

After sailing on RCI and Azamara, we've finally booked a cruise on X.  I learned after we booked we'll be on Equinox's first cruise after dry dock, so I'm looking forward to being on a renovated ship.  Offering the "Go Best" promo for OV cabins and above was a great incentive to try Equinox.  It was great the loyalty reciprocity allowed us to get the one category upgrade to a 2B balcony.

One thing I haven't been able to hunt down yet, though, is if the specialty dining venues will be changing.  We are thinking about booking a package with our OBC, but wanted to check on what venues will be available.  If anyone can provide any info or point me in the right direction to find it, I'd appreciate it.

We'll also be joining you on this cruise.  This will be our 1st Celebrity cruise and we chose an aft Sky Suite.  Got a couple of cruises before this one but very hopeful that Celebrity will be a nice treat for us.

  7.    Because of hip replacement surgeries I need to request extra mattress covers on our bedding.  RCCL has a special needs link that I make the request to.  Does anyone know the link I would use for this request with Celebrity?

    Thanks

Celebrity has started pretty routinely sending move-up invitations to people who have reservations and who have not opted out of receiving marketing emails.  I usually receive the invitation 32-34 days before embarkation day.  Just today, I received an invitation to bid on upgrading a cruise that embarks on November 19.  That is 34 days in advance and the earliest of the 3 move-up bidding invitations that I have received.  They promise a response to the bids at least 2 days before the cruise.  In fact, I received the upgrade 13 days in advance of our 10/28 cruise but our bid (for the same amount) for our 10/24 cruise is still pending even though that cruise is in only 8 days.

Actually, I am a little surprised that it took the cruise lines so long to come up with this idea.  They can solicit hundreds of bids and than let their computers select the bids that will maximize the revenue to the cruise line.  It has to produce considerably more revenue than targeted up-sell calls with almost all of the work being done by machines instead of cruise line employees.  The computer can instantly pick the combination of bids that will maximize revenue.  I used to write mathematical software before I retired so I know that this is easy to code.

It allows multiple bids to be accepted for a single vacant cabin.  For example, if there is an empty Royal Suite, they can upgrade someone from a Celebrity Suite to the RS, then someone else from a Sky Suite to the newly empty CS, then someone from Aqua Class to the SS and so on.  In total, they can accept at least 6 bids for that single empty RS with revenue from each one.  The total may well sum to the full original asking price for the RS or even more.  After all the upgrades, they end up with an empty inside room that they can sell very quickly and cheaply so the ship sails full (or just give it to an entertainer).

Thanks for the info.  Very interesting concept.

Congrats!  The circumstance that you described would be how we would do it too.  Like what we have and are okay if we stay in that cabin.  Then, you take a shot and glad to read it worked.

How/where did you find out about the 'move up' option on your sailings?  We are not sailing much right now with so many land based trips and I am not staying as current as I used to be.

I too would be interested in the "move up" option as I'm new to Celebrity and this is the first I've heard of such option.

    Thanks

  10. If looks as if you booked a Sky Suite. With that I think you also got all 4 perks.

Being in a suite with all 4 perks is all you need. I wouldn’t worry or be concerned about any benefits from Captains Club because you won’t really be needing or using any of them.

As a suite guest with all 4 perks you will have unlimited internet, and the premium drink pack that will take care of all of you beverages at every bar, dining room and venue.

You will also have full access to Michael’s Club that also has unlimited drinks and is a private bar for suite guests. This bar may change to another location after the Revolution

Suites also have their own private restaurant for breakfast that is a lot better than the Elite morning coffee break that is just a continental breakfast.

The Equinox is scheduled for the Revolution upgrade in May 2019 so you will be one of first to cruise with the new suite private deck, pool, and other benefits of that upgrade.

So many things that are now may be different when you sail.

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Yes, we are in a Sky Suite but we chose to not take the perks as we are very limited drinkers, and get 90 minutes free internet so we ended up saving $1000 by eliminating the perk package.

  11. We are newbies on Celebrity as we've been RCCL cruiser's for most of our cruising lives together staying in various cabins from OS, GS, JrS and balcony. We booked an S2 Sky Suite aft #1665 on The Equinox for June 1, 2019. We know nothing about the ins and outs of a Celebrity cruise especially regarding the suite life and all the good stuff we're hoping for. Any and all info that you experienced cruiser's can provide will be greatly appreciated such as embarkation, disembarkation, restaurants, this particular suite, shows, sauna's, pools, solarium. Thanks in advance for any and all info.

  12. We've been regular RCCL cruiser's and have decided to expand our choices to a Celebrity cruise. We know nothing about Celebrity other than dribs and drabs of comments read or heard. We are on the Equinox sailing June 1st 2019 in an S2 cabin #1665 Sky Suite. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated to help us Newbies get the most enjoyment out of our cruise. TIA
