  1. So we will have far too much luggage to manage to use public transport after our cruise. The cruise line is telling us that there are very few taxis available at oceankaj and so we should sign up for their port transfer. I feel like this is a sales ploy (at 30$ a person, that's $120!!!! )So even though a taxi would be more expensive that public transport, I still feel that it would be a better deal than the cruise shuttle. What is your opinion on this? Is there a website where one can "reserve" a taxi?

  2. Danish Viking- we are in a situation where our luggage has been lost between the U.K. And Dublin and we have just a very short period of time to collect some essentials before going on our cruise. We arrive in CPH tomorrow around 3pm and will quickly need to find somewhere to go shopping. We are staying near the central train station and will be looking for lightweight jackets, shoes and long sleeve shirts (we found pants today in Ireland but ran out of time before the stores clothes). Can you make a recommendation of a shopping area/mall and provide some instructions on how to get there. Much appreciated!

  3. How crowded are the rides at Tivoli? We are thinking of going the day we arrive, which would allow us about 6 hours to enjoy the park. Would the unlimited ride ticket be worth it? Or would be be so crowded that we'd only get to go on a few rides. This would be on June 1 (Thursday), so I also wonder if many folks will be at Distortion, and therefore not at Tivoli.

    Thanks

  4. We are headed out in a few weeks on the getaway but from what I've learned so far, you do need to make reservations at the specialty restaurants. We are just doing the free restaurants (there seem to be plenty) and saving our money on other things (though I've heard that these are really good). I'm bringing one nice dress (not passing up the opportunity for a nice family photo) but it doesn't seem there is a specific formal night- it sees to be a bit more laid back.

I'll try and remember to post more when we return from our trip next month.

  5. I guess I'm not convinced about the value of the Copenhagen card. Can someone help me out?

We will be in town for 48 hours. So we will need to travel from the airport to Central station and depart to the cruise dock. While in town, I would like to do a canal cruise to see the basic sights, stroll the Stroget, little mermaid, see the palace from the outside, and go to Tivoli gardens. We don't plan to go into any of the museums due to time limitations.

So am I better off doing the hop on hop off bus for $36 pp and just paying for transport in and out of the city? Or is the city card the better deal at $28 and pay for a boat trip? How easy is it to use the public transport to get to these places?
