  1. There is a Carnival facebook group and someone recently posted a video with one of the Camp Ocean Directors. She said that as a rule of thumb, they will let kids move "up or down" one year on a trial basis. It sounds like as mentioned above, your best bet is to go talk to the staff the first night but based off what this employee said, it sounds like your kiddo will be able to move up!

  2. Not sure what you mean. We always did early dining with our kids in the MDR. Waiter had milk and fruit ready when we arrived. They are main course during our appetizers and dessert during our entree. Then one parent walked them to camp at 7 while the other orders dessert and coffee. The rest of the evening til 10 pm was child-free!

If you want to send them to camp dinner that is at 6 on the Lido. Just sign them in and after they eat the counselors will take them to camp and you can have an adult dinner.

We would never do late dining - even to this day because our sons are 14 and 20 and want to see shows and spend time with friends come 730/8 pm. We have moved to YTD because it does allow for a little more flexibility if we are ashore late, have an afternoon snack etc.

This was very helpful - thank you! I didn’t understand the part that you can take them to the lido for dinner.

  3. Do you have AT&T by any chance? They have a $10/day (24hr) international package. As long as you are in a country/port that support it, it is only $10/day and uses your home plan for minutes, text, and data

Do you have to set it up ahead of time? Does it work when you are out to sea?? If you've ever turned on your phone, it usually says something like "cellular at sea"

  4. I once got SO sick (sinus infection/coughing) on a cruise in an interior cabin. I felt so bad knowing someone was going to come into my room hours after I had spent days coughing and blowing my nose. Since then, I always travel with Lysol and wipes! I'm not overly weird about germs but that experience made me more cautious. Oh and I also always travel with meds now too!

  5. We had issues on our last carnival cruise (destiny) about 3 years ago. We kept complaining and finally we were told carnival doesn't consider it a problem unless the temp on the room registers over 76 degrees. Our room was coming in around 75 which was WAY too hot for us. They ended up giving us a fan. I wish I had said we wanted to use the 24 hour vacation guarantee because we were miserable. We are book on victory in sept and I am hoping it's better

  6. Have you priced a Carnival cruise lately? They are NOT the same price as they used to be.

I booked a 4 night cruise for two people for less than $600. I can't even go to beach for a weekend for that price and this includes all my food. Still a great value to me!

  7. I think that society as a whole has changed and people are expecting a lot more for the same price. We live locally to hersheypark and visit often. Their opening weekend was horrible due to the crowds and at one point the cops were called due to guests fighting with each other.

  8. Did you have trip insurance? I would think that could maybe cover the damaged luggage? I'm

Surprised no one came to your room. I complained once about the temp in our room and they sent some poor guy to "fix" it. I then realized they had no intention of letting me cool down the room with the A/C. Either way, they at least sent someone and then even let us borrow a fan.

  9. Cruising is my favorite vacation! It's the fun atmosphere, the food, the sun! You guys will have a great time. Your kids will make friends and they'll never want to leave the ship. You can do as much or as little as you want. There's always something going on or you can just relax.
