  1. Daughter was 3 and 6 when we took her on the Alaskan cruises. She had a blast both times.  Younger age she spent a lot more time in the kids club. Upside of Princess, compared to Carnival, ship, is that the passengers tend to be a bit older. There were not many kids in either voyage so she had a lot of time with the counselors. Also the various crafts and activities made her not wanting to come with us on some shore excursions.

Loved having fellow passengers cooing over her since most have grand or great grandchildren her age.

    Have fun!

  2. For your information the ship had pulled anchor and was turning around when word came, that the missing couple were on a tender heading out to the ship. They used the pilot boats entrance to board the ship. We were about 10 to 15 minutes delayed leaving.

Here's a silly followup question: IF the reason the couple didn't get back onboard ws due to their negligence, can the passengers be penalized financially for causing the cruise line to go top speed (and use more fuel) to make up for lost time?

  3. I know I need to do this once on board but where/how do I sign up? Is it through dining or kids club? Do I need to do it in person or can I call from my room? TIA!

Just got off the Crown Mexican cruise and our daughter (in Shockwave ages 8-12) participated. It was offered on the first day when we went over to introduce her to staff. It's a $25 charge and you can have the decorated cake delivered to cabin or your dining table.

Day of we showed up at kids club where they were hatted and apron'ed before traversing to the galley. Passersby enjoyed seeing 15 junior chefs walking around the ship to and fro.

Kids were shown step-by-step instruction by the pastry chef and then off they go to create their masterpieces. I took pictures during the entire process.

A photographer took a shot with each child and chef, and a group shot. Those are given to you FREE in a few days from the kids club. Wished they had something like this for adults...

  4. We were on this same cruise.

It was Thursday, the 2nd Formal night. It is actually Lobster and Prawns, not a Surf and Turf anymore. There is Beef Wellington on the same menu. They did not offer a 2nd lobster, as they have on many cruises. We had traditional early seating and the waiters seemed to be so overwhelmed. I don't know if they had too many tables or what exactly. But our dinner took 2 hours every night, sometimes after an hour we had only had the appetizer. It was the slowest service I've ever had.

So plan accordingly if there are shows you want to see. For us, most were full by the time we got out of the dining room.

We thought we were the only ones with the delayed service (1730 first seating in Botticelli dining room). After the first couple of nights of long dinner, we went through the buffet just so we can make the early shows. Not all sections were affected though; we had several folks each evening showing up 30-40 minutes late so staff had to interrupt the flow to accommodate them. Sections near us were getting people out little over an hour.

  5. Thanks again for posting these patters. Am I reading correctly that Skywalkers was not 18-and-over in the evening but was listed as Skywalkers Chill Out Lounge--"chill out" being one of the monikers of the teen program? Was the space actually co-functioning as a teen disco every night of the cruise? Just wondering if one of the info/policies sheets in your cabin Day 1 mentioned the normal 18-and-over Skywalkers rule in the 'alcohol' section or not.

Not sure about the Skywalkers lounge since we have a nine-year-old. Heard she spent an evening up there while we were at the show.

  6. Long time lurker, first time poster. Please pardon me if I did not place this post in the appropriate forum.

Here are the Patters and the Shockwave schedule from our trip.

I kept most of the other inserts and paperwork from our trip so if you're looking for anything else, let me know in the next week or two before I recycle them. I don't have the menus since we didn't go to the MDR every night.
