  1. Has anyone went on the Caribbean cruise when your us passport was valid but expiring in less then 6 month. We are scheduled to go on the  Caribbean cruise in December and my husbands passport will expire in May and I have been getting conflicting information if he needs to renew his passport or we can go on cruise with his current one. Any advice on this issue is highly appreciated. Thanks

  2. Hi. The clubs were not too busy, especially considering the high volume of kids on the sailing. I did learn that they limit each area to 50 kids. But I don't think that they ever got to that point. After 10 pm they did combine the 5-7 year olds with the 8-11?? yo. Not sure of the exact ages but those two general ranges where the ones combined.

    Thank you!

  3. I can purchase unlimited plan once I get on board correct? There's no restriction or availability on unlimited plan correct? Sorry for so many questions but I am just used to RCL and know you pre-purchase your plan online and even get discount and once on board you get very quickly set-up by logon information provided to you.

  4. Hello,

It would be our first time sailing on Escape and I have internet question. If we don't choose internet as our promotional upgrade when booking, can you please tell me if we still able to purchase internet ( it is not available as option as add-on in the booking screen)? Also what kind of plans do they have available? Does it work everywhere on the ship including your cabin or just certain areas? What is the cost of unlimited package if you purchase it on the board cause it seems like its not available online for purchase? How good is the internet on Escape?

We have sailed on Royal Caribbean in the past and loved their internet connection, I am hoping same thing will be on Norwegian.

    Thanks

  5. Hello,

We are planning our first Norwegian cruise and I have few questions about the cruise line. We are considering Escape sailing from New York. Depending on the type of the cabin you choose you get some promotions with it, I have chosen free ultimate dining and free beverage package. Can you please explain, is it really free unlimited dining and beverages or there's some limitations to it? Also can I cancel the deposit at any time due to final payment or there's restrictions to it? Also, I see many choices for dining and entertainment available on the ship, do you need to book it online or you can make your reservation when aboard. Also any other advises to the newbie would be highly appreciated.

    Thank you,

  6. Hello,

I have just noticed that in order to book the deluxe drink package you need to book all the adults in the cabin. I truly don't drink ( even wine makes me sick, no tolerance for alcohol) and my husband the only one drinking. I understand why they implemented this rule for the adults in the same cabin but it would honestly be a problem for me as I really don't drink. Not sure if its for all the Royal Caribbean ships or just Anthem but I was wondering if anyone had this problem and how they solved it? Is their still away to purchase one deluxe drinking package? Thanks.

  7. Hello, My husband and I are coming to Bermuda for the first time in June. Can you please recommend good beach no to far from the cruise terminal that has beach chairs and umbrella rental as well. Thanks.

  8. I certainly understand your frustration, this has happened to me several times. Watch the website frequently, especially in t4he last 30 days. On my last sailing, I was able to upgrade from a grand suite to an Owner's Suite to a royal family suite for no extra cost.

So if higher category costs what i paid, I can call them and they will upgrade for free? Is that their policy or something they do if they want to?

  9. It happens. It's no different than airlines. Everyone on board pays a different price based on market conditions at the time. You quickly learn that you will gain nothing by continuing to dwell over something that isn't going to change. If you don't like it then you don't have to do business with them.

Like I said in my first post, where do you draw the line 48 hours, 49 hours 3 days 2 weeks. They chose 48 hours you were 6-12 hours after that, sorry not entitled and yes I do think you are being unreasonable.

Pretty sure if you personally involved you would be just as unreasonable however I will stop.discussing it cause I happen to agree with you dwelling about this issue will not solve it so I will move on and keep theirs policies and treatment in mind when thinking future vacation plans.

  10. I understand being frustrated...but you asked if anyone had experienced this...and many of us told you we had...did we like it...Not especially...but it's their cruise line...their rules...Shooting the messenger's doesn't change the facts.....

I fully understand that however some people here are saying that I am asking for unreasonable things and I think its wrong to say that cause like you said no one would have liked it.

  11. While I may not be happy I understand the policy going in and am not going to make a big deal about it if it did.

So you would be ok if I would get 600 less price then you for same cruise and same category if i would book 3 days later, right? U would not be upset that they penalized you for booking beforehand, right? Since u knew beforehand that its their policy, correct?

It seems to me that many people think I am wrong or expecting something unreasonable however all I am asking is for them to treat me with same courtesy as they treating people who are booking today, i think its only fair but maybe I am asking for too much.

  12. Or maybe just someone who thinks they are owed favors just because they have graced a business with their patronage before.

No favors just fair treatment for someone who booked the cruise before sale was issued otherwise the message they are sending is if your are loyal customer who booked your cruise in advance you will be punished for it. I am asking to treat me same as someone who booked today, thats just fair business practice.

  13. Did you mention this and the Best Price Guarantee, which was added in the editing of my post, in your discussion with RCI resolutions? ;)

Also let it be known to RCI resolutions that you're really upset about this and it will impact your future bookings with RCI if they still wish to do nothing at all. :(

I did not mention Beat Price Guarantee because i did not know about it however I did mentioned that i was upset but they said sorry its corporate policy and nothing can be done :(

  14. I spent 15 years in retail at a national chain. no you do NOT get a price adjustment if an items goes on sale within 30 days after you buy it

The policy changed a few years ago and it is what it is. Royal was one of the last hold outs, in fact.

They want new cruisers, who spend more money on average and cost them little in terms of providing perks or freebies

I have no idea where u have worked for the past 15 years but I have personally had price adjustment from.Macys and other retailers. Let me be clear i am not asking for price adjustment just something to make me happy and give me a reason to come up, thats what i call good customer service.

  15. Royal and the other cruise lines have been operating this way for years.

Unfortunately they do not care about making everyone happy and will not do anything to appease you. They have no incentive to give you any sort of compensation and don't care if you ever return. Every year they add more and more berths and attract more and more first time cruisers that will gladly take your place.

As was mentioned in another post they have a 48 hour price guarantee which you were just outside of. Where do they draw the line at being able to get an upgrade, refund or OBC....is it 48 hours..96 hours..two weeks or just give OBC to everyone that calls to complain regardless of when they booked. They chose 48 hours and in making that decision they recognize that they won't be able to please everyone. Unfortunately you were the one they did not please.

In the future I would suggest making sure you understand these policies before deciding to book or just don't look at prices after you book.

I think they should care about people returning since you are right they are expending quickly thus more reason not only to attract more first time cruisers but to retain current one, they will lose all business they have if they stop retaining repeat customers who will not only come back but will bring their family and friends back. Just to make it clear the price drop I am talking about is not 50 but close to 600 and to me and just like to a lor of people its a lot of money and pretty sure you personally would not be very happy if it happened to you....

  16. The only time you can get an adjustment to your cost for a cabin booked on or after the final payment date is if the goes price goes down within 48 hours. Then one can use RC's Best Price Guarantee which provides for 110% OBC of the difference between the old and new lower price. This was the case for our first Anthem cruise earlier this year as we booked 2 months prior and the next day the total cost for the same cabin went down $100. I used the Best Price Guarantee to get $110 more OBC for that booking. ;)

Unfortunately for us we have missed it by couple of hours as we have paid on Monday afternoon and 48 hours would be Wednesday afternoon and this special come out midnight :( which is why i am sooooo upset, I would be ok if it happened even several weeks from now but 3 days later and them.telling me nothing can be done is very upsetting.

  17. There is a difference between final payment and the final payment due date. You can make your final payment anytime before the due date. You are not locked in until the due date passes.

This was our final payment and final due date as the cruise is in January so refund and rebooking is not possiple :(
