  1. I am booked on this excursion next week and I am excited about it. How was the beach? Where do you go pay the remaining balance? Is it the front desk?

Hello! The beach was beautiful. Clean and really soft sand! There were 2 pushy vendors there but once I walked up to security they left me alone the rest of the day! Yes when you arrive just go to the desk and they will point you in the right direction to pay the balance. Remember bring cash and try to have exact amount to eliminate getting change in Bahamas currency. Have fun!!!!

  2. Hiya,

I see they have parasailing there. Would you happen to know what the price is?

    The Resort looks amazing!

Sorry, I didn't see the parasail people at this resort, but that could have been because of the storm clean up.......you could tell that people were just starting up business again........

The resort was a lot of fun!!!

  3. Thanks for the feedback. What does the day pass include? Can you give more detail on what was outside to use? I have a teen and preteen and want to make sure they aren't "bored". Was food included? If not what was the food arrangements? If food and drink aren't included is there an option to upgrade (if so do you remember the amount). Just trying to be as prepared as possible. It's been a while since we cruised!

The day pass includes use of the pools, beach, chairs, cabanas, hot tub, volley ball, sail boats, snorkel gear. Food was not included. There is a beach bar/snack shack that had chicken fingers, fries, apps, drinks (frozen and cocktails/beer) for purchase. I know my friends also went to a restaurant in the market and had a great brunch that was around $14 per person. I think there are other restaurants in the resort, however they were not open yet after the storm. I know the workers there said on normal days the resort is full and there is a lot more action, so I think your teens could find something to do either at the resort or the nearby market. I am not sure if there is an upgrade for an all inclusive. I didn't really check because I didn't think I would drink/eat enough for that. We were so pleased with this day just because of the slow pace and feeling like we "owned the resort" for the day!!! Hope this helps!

  4. Hi! Yes it was a carnival sponsored excursion. A private operator comes onboard to pick up the people who booked it through Carnival. They provide small bus transportation to each stop, ending at Senor Frogs. The guide was very clear that his responsibility ended at 3pm when he dropped us at SF's. He was not responsible for getting us back to the ship.

My thoughts are if you are driving people around with the intent to party and get tipsy, at least make sure they get back to the ship on time. Have a bell that rings 20 minutes before ships depart, have a carnival rep with a loudspeaker, have the guide stick around and get people moving, ANYTHING just don't leave them there to wander back on their own. I know people have to be responsible for their own actions and such, but a little courtesy would go a long way! I didn't even get to tip at Senor Frogs because we were in a mad dash to get back to the ship on time. I would totally book this again, but I would make sure I had an alarm set somewhere to alert me when to leave for the ship, because once you are involved with games at Senor Frogs, you aren't thinking about time!!!!!

  5. I just returned from my trip to the Bahamas and wanted to get this review out there for anyone thinking about going to this resort for a day pass. We weren't sure if we would actually be able to do this excursion since Irma damaged a few resorts and this one was closed up to 2 days prior to our arrival. I booked through ShoreExcursioneer.com and their customer service was awesome! They let us know that the resort was open and ready for business. Once we had that squared away we were excited for the excursion. We ate breakfast and then got off the ship and found a taxi in port. We negotiated a van since there were 6 of us and got a $10 price break and had the van for $50. We got a ticket for our return trip so it was $10 PP roundtrip without the 1 free. The cab ride was about 20 minutes long. We arrived at the resort around 9am. It looked empty except for the folks working at the front desk. They took our money (Cash only) for the day pass and told us that anything outside was ours to use! We found out quickly that the 6 of us and one other couple (Joe and Michelle from NY) were the only ones at the resort that day. So we had the entire infinity pool, beach, hot tub, cabanas, and beach bar to ourselves! To us, this was HEAVEN!!! We really wanted a day to relax and be waited on hand and foot! They did not disappoint at this resort. We did have to pay for our drinks (about $8 per person) but they were strong and worth every penny. They do build in the gratuity so keep that in mind. We had a blast just talking to Joe and Michelle and hanging out with our people! At one point we had a few locals cruising the beach trying to sell us stuff, but we said a stern NO and they left us alone after that. My friend rented a jet ski ($80 for 40 minutes which can be split between 2 riders) and she said she did not feel safe while riding with the local vendor. He tried putting her hand on his "junk" and also tried reaching to grab her in the same area. Scary stuff, but good thing she could have beat his A$$ if needed!!! I suggest you rent those through carnival.com and stay away from shady vendors on the beach!!!

At the end of the day, the bar staff alerted us when it was time to head back to ship and made sure we got to cabs safely. We tipped them well for a fun day on land! I would book this again in a second, I would just hesitate to leave the resort until I was ready to go back to ship. I don't appreciate high pressure pan-handling or pushy vendors, so I stay away from that scene!

Feel free to ask any questions you might have!

  6. Disclaimer: I can not be held accountable for any actions that happened on this excursion!!!!

    Ha Ha!

I booked this excursion with my party of 6 girls who were travelling for a girls trip. We met in the theater onboard the Liberty at 10:30 for our 11am excursion. Once we had all gathered we went a short walk to the tour bus. Once on the bus, the party started! We did quick introductions to those on the excursion with us. In all there were 14-16 on the bus. First stop was Viola's on paradise island. We each got a free Viola's sunrise, which was pretty strong for a "freebie". We had 40 minutes there so of course we got a few other drinks. The waitresses were so fun and taught us local dances and made sure we were taken care of. Once we finished there we loaded back on the bus and headed to Margaritaville which was also on Paradise Island. They have a swim up bar and brought us each a free margarita and a shot (nasty shot). We didn't do much here except drink and swim which was fine!! We were all getting along and all had the "party vibe" that we booked the excursion for! Once we finished there we headed to the Fish Fry in Nassau. There we got a blue drink that was DELICIOUS for free. We purchased some lunch there and more drinks. I will say there were a few "shady characters" at that location that if you were not careful would have had you alone which might have led to problems, however our entire group looked out for each other and no one was allowed to be pulled aside for anything! After leaving the fish fry we went to Senor Frog's where we had MORE drinks and played "bar games" like musical chairs, did the wobble, and twerked the day away... lol...... we had so much fun we ALMOST MISSED THE SHIP!!!

Here's my Pro and Con List:

    Pro:

(1)The EXACT party I was looking for. (2) We didn't have to maneuver around Nassau alone.

    (3) With the exception of the free Margarita from Margaritaville all of the free drinks were delicious, that Margarita was NASTY though.

    (4) Met some great people on this excursion! A few we met up with other nights and chatted and just hung out! I really enjoyed this since I am not usually a person who talks to people I don't know! I went out of my comfort zone and had a blast. From the youngest (20) to the oldest (80+) everyone had fun!

    (5) Tour guide Arnold was a blast and very informative! He made sure we had fun the whole time!

    Con:

    (1) if you book through Carnival, they should have a rep at Senor Frogs to MAKE SURE you get to ship on time. Leaving you at Senor Frogs after a day of drinking and being in the sun sets you up to miss the ship!

    (2) STOP with auto gratuity everywhere you go!! Each bar built in 18% on each check. I am a HEALTHY tipper, but this just turns me off and leads to less tips than they would have gotten otherwise.

Overall, I would book this again in a second and I would recommend it to anyone who is not uptight and is looking for a great time in the Bahamas!

  7. I am going to write a full review of the Bahamian Bar Hopping Excursion that I just got back from, but that was a BLAST!!! Only $50pp through Carnival and we had the BEST TIME on that excursion! We met some people from our ship that we talked to every time we saw them after that excursion. We definitely left our mark on the Bahamas and almost missed the ship we were having so much fun!

  8. Hello everyone. I was searching the web for info on this resort since I have a day pass booked for 9/18 and I was concerned about hurricane damage. on the resorts FB page, it says they are closed for clean up and repairs and do not have an opening day identified at this time. I am working on a refund for the deposit I paid, and wondering if we will see the same issue on ALL Freeport excursions....... think I will wait until I am onboard to book anything.

  9. My hotel is in Titusville and we haven't heard anything from them. We are driving straight through the entire 15 hour journey to the port/hotel. Best case our hotel is available, worst case we sleep in the van for a few hours and get onboard first thing Sunday! Good news is we bought FTTF so we can get onboard as soon as they open!

  10. Thank you for the update Bill! I appreciate it. I hope my question didn't sound offensive or insensitive in any way. I am just trying to mark things off my checklist:

    1. Is there still a ship. (check, they took it out to sea)

    2. Is there still a port (check, per your message there seems to be no significant damage).

    3. Are the roads passable to PC and Titusville where I am staying? (waiting on this info)

    4. Is my hotel ok? (waiting)

    5. Will we be able to get gas in Florida next weekend? (I don't mind filling up in GA and bringing a gas can if I have to LOL!)

    6. Will Jose impact my embarkation? I am not even worried if we cruise to nowhere, just as long as I am onboard and sailing!!!!

  11. I am scheduled to leave home (Indianapolis) Saturday to drive to PC to get onboard the Liberty the 17th. Have there been any updates this morning on the port conditions after the storm? Praying for the safety of all Floridians and those who chose to ride out Irma. Also hoping Jose stays out to sea and doesn't become a problem for the US or my cruise!

  12.

I simply like it for the ease of doing a bit ahead of time. Walking on board, everything is fully paid and I am on vacation, worry free!

This is exactly why I bought CC ahead of time. I just want the peace of mind in knowing that if something happens at home where my husband would need extra money, that it won't affect my girls trip!!! I am on a 4 day cruise and I know I will spend at least $200 in drinks! I don't operate with credit cards anymore and after having my card compromised on my last cruise while in port in Mexico, I would rather just use cash or OBC when it's possible.

  13. If you have waited a full 6 weeks for a standard passport, you definitly need to be finding out why you do not have it.

Unless there is a detail that you haven't shared, you should have had your passport, either new or renewal, in hand by now.

Funny thing happened like 5 minutes after posting this the US Dept of State called because I had destroyed my expired passport and sent in a form stating so, that my passport was delayed. After a lecture and scolding I promised never to destroy an expired passport again and the agent said it is on the way and I should get it by Friday. It was a little creepy on the timing, but at least I know now!!!! I

explained that i am an every 10 year traveller and will keep that in mind the next time!!!;p;p

  14. you have to remove your glasses and move all the hair off your forehead. There is nothing to "see" while they are taking your pic and you can hold the glasses in your hand, so you should be fine.

I suggest you get that ordered ASAP because I put my application in over 6 weeks ago and I am still waiting and I sail in 33 days!

  15. I am on a 4 day cruise in September with sea day being the last day. I called carnival and asked specifically what day the elegant day was because my friends and I wanted to make hair appointments and was told it is the LAST DAY of the cruise, so evidentially it can be the last day.....otherwise Carnival will be refunding the hair appointment we booked.

  16. Have any of you that went there recently bought food/drinks at the resort? Just wondering about quality and pricing. We are going in September and wondered if we should just walk outside the resort for lunch.......

    Thoughts?

  17. We are doing this excursion at the end of July. From what I have read from reviews I don't recall jet skis at this beach but good place to chill and has some water activities things on the beach

Thanks! Would you mind updating me when you get back? I still have some time to book!

  18. Hi! I am considering booking this excursion for my friends and I on our cruise in September. Does anyone know where this beach is located? I am with a party of 6 and some of us want to rent Jet Skis and some want to parasail, and the rest just want to chill on the beach. I am trying to decide if we book this, if those motorized water activities are nearby or is the place for the excursion pretty secluded. Also trying to decide if we even NEED to book this excursion or just go to a public beach and buy our own drinks........ any feedback would be helpful and appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!
