MSC (at least the Seaside and Seashore that I have experience with) has the best sports bar at sea, bar none. You'll be fine. They even have a massive, wall-sized screen that they put big games on. Plenty of football, and the entire floor of the sports bar is decorated to look like a football field with yard markers.

Well I just got the results back and they're all negative so we are good to go!
Leaving the thread up because it's a valid question others may want the answer to.

I am still waiting on the lab results for the PCR tests my kids had to take and I'm starting to get worried that I wont' get the results on time 😞
However, both of my kids had covid about 8 weeks ago, which means they are "recovered". I know that Carnival will accept a positive test result taken more than two weeks before sailing date and that waives any other testing requirements. NCL has a similar policy, except with them I think you need a positive test from >2 weeks prior and a doctor's note.
Does MSC have something similar? That would be a lifesaver if I don't get my results back on time.

14199 does not have a bathtub I believe, looks like a regular balcony cabin with shower. however the ones that do have bathtubs also have a showerhead so either way you're good!

The most important secret on the Divina are the wings in the sports bar. You're welcome.

I was able to book an MSC cruise without buying the covid protection. Not mandatory. I am in the US. this is a US sailing.

You realize that the cruise director makes no difference to the experience for 90+% of people, right? And what the cruise director actually does of importance on the ship is not visible to most guests -- you do realize that Donkey isn't JUST there to narrate the hairy chest contest? He actually makes important decisions regarding the cruise when ports are potentially canceled, helps organize with local authorities, helps organize/plan daily activities and a BUNCH of other responsibilities, right?
And you do realize that by keeping this thread at the top of the largest cruise forum for nearly a week, Carnival has DEFINITELY seen this, as has Donkey, and you're probably hurting his feelings and giving him unnecessary headaches at his job.

All travel insurance is a scam. Believe me, I've bought it before thinking I was safe only to lose out 75%+ of my fare because of some BS in the fine print for Norwegian's "peace of mind" (or whatever the F they call it) insurance.
Here's what you do:
Every cruise you book, DONT buy insurance. Instead, put the price of the travel insurance you'd typically buy into a dedicated savings account (look into online banks that let you create as many subaccounts as you want) for "Travel Insurance". I guarantee you by the time you actually NEED travel insurance, you will have enough in that account to pay for your lost fare and a free cruise on top of that.

We are in the Horizon at the end of the month and just today a family was denied an exemption for their grandchild (under 12). Several others are still waiting to hear.
Oh no, then maybe my info is not correct. So sad 😞

Since DeSantis won the injunction against the cdc conditional sail order, they no longer are actually requiring 95/5. They are denying exemptions for adults and approving all exemptions for children even if it pushes them above 5% unvaccinated.
overall I’m very happy with that. It keeps the cruise safe, making sure everyone who can vax is vaxxed, but without imposing ridiculous requirements on those that can’t even have a vax if they wanted one.

I don’t know about that. Ive been on two royal cruises, two carnival cruises, and one Norwegian cruise. The Norwegian (epic) was all fresh water, one royal ship (freedom) was fresh water, one royal ship (mariner) was salt, and all the carnivals have been salt.

Couldn’t find any information. Does anybody know??

That's the same menu that was on my April 2018 liberty cruise, don't think that's new. And steak and eggs are there, third from top.

Anyone know how the Epic is doing? She left PC yesterday and I am wondering if they are sticking to the original itinerary or if they needed to change it again.
She is fine. Was able to exceed 20 knots on her previous cruise. Docked in PC and left PC yesterday without a tug assist. Appears to be on schedule to maker her Virgin Islands stops, which is the original, unchanged itinerary.

Regardless of whatever our definitions of scratch and gash are there was no hull breach. Do you agree newlemo?

It was a pretty gnarly scratch. But not a gash.

I have been waiting for you to answer as I have been reading this thread for weeks and everything you have said has been proven out over and over over time. You sir seem to know your stuff.
So please I think the reason epic has not gone over 14Kn is that she doesn't need to and would get to ports way to fast and the cruise next week will be back to near normal and will go to the Virgin islands. I really hope so as I am on her. Or am I fooling myself with wishful thinking and we will be on a similar cruise as this week?
So the only answer is we won't know til Saturday. Norwegian has been very hush hush.

So has anything officially been determined as the cause of engine issues? Is it likely she will be able to manage her port to Cozumel on the 3/2/19 cruise?
No official word yet.

I beg of them not to take me to Cozumel again, I've been so many times I've stopped spending time/money on excursions. I make excursion to Senor Frogs, shots are 2 for $5 a cheap buzz while people watching is far more interesting that seeing Cozumel fish...again
But if the ship is having problems and they are making the gamble to only do short distance cruises, would they really go from Orlando to Cozumel? I would think it would be shorter to go to 1 or 2 of the Virgin Islands vs. going across the whole Gulf of Mexico and hope that nothing else mechanically goes wrong.
The Virgin islands are much further away from Port Canaveral than Mexico.

I would guess that a 7 day would be long enough to get to Cozumel and back. I'm booked a 5 day western Caribbean on the 11th. That will certainly turn into a Bahamas itinerary.
Seashore kids menu
in MSC Cruises
Posted
They have a kids menu that is the same every night. Choices are more eclectic than a standard american kids menu and much healthier. However, it wasn't satisfactory to my picky eaters when we did MSC Seashore last year, so my daughter asked if they could make chicken nuggets, which was not on the kids menu or adults menu, but the waiter was able to magically materialize a plate of chicken nuggets and fries every night for her.
