  1. Man o Wars are not typical in July. Usually they appear in the spring. But winds and currents can bring them in. Since Bermuda is an island it seems like it would be difficult to say there are beaches that won't get them if the wind and currents bring them in.

Totally understand that wind and currents are unpredictable, wasn't sure if there were some beaches that were more protected. Also heard they weren't typical in July, but Horseshoe bay was closed yesterday.

  2. If I purchase OBC ahead of time and don't use it all, how is that refunded after the cruise?

Yes. But you can only use refundable (purchased by you or a friend) for DSC. Non-refundable (gifted by NCL) can not be used for DSC. If DSC is pre paid, you're good either way.

  3. Thank you. Just trying to figure out how much money to place in the onboard account.

casino can be cash or your on board account

bingo is your on board account

everything else is on board account

if the fly on entertainer has their own merch (cd/dvd/etc), that is cash only.

  4. Exactly, I wasn't looking for a lecture, just looking for an answer to my question. This response added nothing to the thread... I wish I had a credit card I could use, but I don't at the moment. Plenty of cash though in my checking account and I was told not to use the debit card.

I can not imagine traveling without a credit card. My wife and I actually carry at least two cards each, on different accounts in case they get stolen/lost,

Yes, I know some people do not have cards as they do not have enough credit history, terrible credit, or unable to control their spending. I get that.

  5. My Husband uses a CPap. Will the cord be able to reach the outlet, or should I bring an extension cord?

My set up..... power strip for cpaps and hub for for phones, tablets, kindle etc...... there is a notice in the Daily (last page) that stewards are directed to unplug unattended items

  6. What does CAS stand for?

Just boarded and the order is:

    1) Ambassador, Platinum Plus, Platinum

    2) Special Assistance

    3) Numbered Groups

No CAS priority except getting a lower number. I received Group 3 and arrived at 10am.

If you are looking to park in the garage, it is only available for overflow of the open air lots.

The original Massport open air parking lot that is located at the bow (one they said was closed).... is open ($20 / day) - this was a pleasant surprise as I love this lot and the easy access.

They were asking your "arrival time" but not checking or enforcing. They staggered people going up the escalator which made going through security a breeze and checkin fast.

  7. hello, I want to use cash for our onboard account and it says $300/person to get it started. My question, is that including children? There will be 4 of us, do I need $1200 to get started, or can I put down less? We don't have a credit card...

  8. Thanks! That's what's I was looking for. I don't want to book online and pay for it since I will have onboard credit.

When do you book reservations for dining? Can the concierge help us with that once onboard, or should we do that ahead of time?

If you want to use your credits, you need to either call the excursion desk (sorry, don't have the number off hand) or book on board.

If you book through myncl, it'll try and charge you.

  9. Hello, I am sailing for the first time on the Dawn this July. We have the daily shore excursion credit as part of the free offers. I'm assuming we'll get $150 total ($50/day in Bermuda). I also have another $300 in OBC. How can i book excursions ahead of time if I'm planning on using those credits?

Also, we are staying in a suite, how do we reserve specialty dining in advance?

    Thanks!
