  1. I was on two sailings prior to yours (2/4) and agree with almost everything here. Especially the French onion soup temperature. LOL.

We watched the "World Works Here" show which was quite cringeworthy. Gabe was trying hard to convey how much he cared about all the nationalities and then didn't know what several of the flags were when they were coming out. They did the 80's Pop show sitting down on my sailing as well but we figured it was due to the rough seas (probably the rockiest I've ever felt in my 17 cruises).

  2. We did the cupcake class on Mardi Gras a couple of months ago and it was a good time. It was about an hour long. You made the cupcake batter, but they actually had a pre-mixed batter that was actually baked. I don't remember what the reason was for that. You made your own frosting which you used and then topped with sprinkles and other toppings. You also made your own melting cake which was pretty cool. It was sometimes hard to follow along with the chef due to a heavy accent, but they would slow down if you had questions.

Thanks for the info!  Would be interested in hearing if anything has changed when you're on Mardi Gras regarding dinner!

I am happy to report that kid's dinner was back every night besides embarkation day 🙂

You would drop the kids off/sign in directly at the Family Harbor Lounge for dinner, and they would take them to Camp Ocean after dinner. Assuming this is back on Magic I would guess it's back on Lido like before.

  4. We were on Magic back in March of this year and at the time, it was only open for short stints of a couple hours at a time then closed for cleaning (or whatever), no Night Owls, and you had to make a reservation on Hub. However, in July we were on Liberty and everything was pretty much back to normal, Night Owls included, and no reservations. Still no dinner at Lido though. We’ll be on Mardi Gras next week and I’m hoping they’ve brought back the dinner.

Some of the conquest class ships are adult only in the aft pool. Glory was in March.

Adult Only was definitely enforced on Liberty this week. It was storming/lightning one day for much of the day and the roof was closed. Not much for the kids to do and I witnessed the attendants turning them away time after time.

I think we'd of heard more chatter about this if it was the case, I am guessing it was a misunderstanding and that masks are not required by the children.

It was certainly not a misunderstanding on my sailing. They were required for the kids. If they didn’t have one when dropped off, they were given a paper one by the staff before being allowed in. Not a big deal and the kids were fine with it. This may vary by sailing.

  7. I’m currently on Magic (8 day) and it seems to vary by port due to time ashore. I can confirm night owls is operating.

    Hub is showing the following:

    Today (San Juan)

    7am-5pm

    7pm-10pm

    Night Owls 10-midnight

    Friday (Grand Turk)

    9:30am-5pm

    7pm-10pm

    Night Owls 10-midnight

    Sea Days

    9am-12pm

    2pm-4pm

    7pm-10pm

No night owls on the last night.

    A couple of observations:

    - They’re not doing dinner at lido like they used to pre-pandemic. This is sad since it’s hard for the little ones to sit through 110 minute dinners (another story).

    - Reservations are recommended but not required. This is based on capacity when you arrive.

    - Supposedly the closures throughout the day are to deep clean. Based on experience this week it wouldn’t make a difference. Due to the limited hours, huge lines and crowds form at drop off time when the next session opens. I would think if it was just open all day like it used to be, crowds would be more spaced out.

    - Masks are required. This is only area on the ship where this is the case this week.

during the transatlantic to the shipyard, they are did some work on the ship and from what i saw on various sites that posted pictures. the inside of the ship is already gutted. there is no turning back. the transformation of the victory is happening and i wont be surprised to see it sit at the shipyard for many months. most likely both carnival and shipyard has an agreement to wave any additional fees due to the additional time in drydock

Where can we see the pictures of what they’ve done so far?

  9. It was a cluster on Liberty a couple weeks ago where probably 75% of people decided to do self assist. Should have known when there were still early tags available late into the night. We ended up just lugging our bags down the stairs since the elevators were jammed.
