  1. I’ve worked on 100’ shrimp boats where the waves were crashing over the wheel house. We’d crest the top of the wave and when it fell out we’d drop to the bottom of th trough and you could hear the bottom of the boat vibrate. I’m still here to tell you is a 100’ boat can handle those waves a ship will be more than fine.

  2. I have a Spring Break 7 day on the freedom booked for 2019. It was $1700 for my wife and I for one of those rooms with the picture window. We didn’t think that was too bad.

I know it’s spring break but the wife and I are both teachers. We don’t care. We’re gonna party harder than those college kids. And besides, according to what I read in here the week long cruises aren’t as wild. We’ll see. I am the BMC teacher(Behavior Management Classroom). I’ll welcome cutting loose and living it up!

  3. Yup. On the Fantasy Chrimson looked for me all over the boat, wherever he was working at the time. I was never without a drink. A waitress at the atrium bar would serve me first no matter how busy she was because I’d spend time and tip her well when it was slower. A few extra dollars go a looong way. I didn’t have to wait between drinks. Whether it was alcohol or one of the other included beverages , I got what I asked for and thy just put my folio number in later.

  4. OK, just for the fun of it, I have been a lifelong sailor and Captain. This is not a contentious post just having some fun with words and terms.

you are on a ship, not a boat

The front of the ship is fore or forward

The back of the ship is in the stern or aft

    The bathrooms are Heads

    The kitchens are Galleys.

There are no floors, but decks

There are no rooms but cabins.

Port is left (it has 4 letters)

Starboard is right, it has more than 4 letters.

anyone else think of any other Nautical terms, add them on

Walls are bulkheads. Halls are p-ways. Scuttlebutt are rumors.

  5. wife and I are going to Cozumel Mahogany Bay and Belize. We would like to do a vow renewal on the trip at a beach. We were young and had a baby on the way when we got married. I wanted a beach wedding but her family threatened not come if we didn’t do it in her church.

So it will be our 18th anniversary when we cruise and would like to renew our vows on the beach. Any suggestions on where and how?!
